May 9May 9 If you've read some of my comments in the threads, you know I'm a big proponent of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Exposure Response Prevention (ERP) as ways to manage ruminations, fears, and self-blame. I thought it might be helpful to provide some links to guides you may find helpful.A good guide to ERP is Everyday Mindfulness for OCD: Tips, Tricks, and Skills for Living Joyfully. Although its about OCD, general anxiety has a lot in common with OCD, so the techniques in the book are helpful for anyone with ruminations and the need for constant reassurance.A resource for calming your mind is Fear Not: Living Grace and Truth in a Frightened World . It helps control the "what if" games you anxiety plays with your mind. There are thousands of books about CBT, but I like the OG Feeling Good: Overcome Depression and Anxiety with Proven Techniques from the 1980's. It has many tools for practicing CBT.These techniques are very powerful and last a lifetime if you practice and use them. They are far better than any meds because they use the power you already have inside. Check them out!
