Working with AI to Create/Modify Tapering Schedules

Featured Replies

Hello,

I am wondering if other folks have been using AI to design and modify their tapering schedules? I use a mood tracker and uploaded data from the app along with my taper schedule to get a sense of which days my withdrawal is the worst. Since I am on Prozac/Fluoxetine, the withdrawal is not felt immediately but is delayed.

I am also trying to overlay that info against data I track from a period tracker.

Anyway, just curious. I am playing around with this to see if I can get some more precise information to tweak my tapering schedule.

I have been on antidepressants for 30-plus years. Currently tapering Prozac.

I am currently using compounded capsules and have been decreasing my dose on a monthly basis

I was tapering by 5% then reduced to 2.5% then 1% due to difficult withdrawal symptoms

Started taper in 2022 from Prozac 30mg

Currently:

08 June 2026 Prozac 4.653 mg (1% decrease)

I record about 30 different daily metrics in a spreadsheet. From the obvious like the dose, mood, symptoms, sleep quality, energy levels to less important like body stiffness and social activities. I use Google Sheets and they integrate with the Gemini AI; on a few occasions I've asked it to do some data analysis and uncover trends. I've been doing this for over 630 days and have plenty of high-quality data.

While it is definitely useful for data analysis, I would never trust an AI to make a decision on how to schedule my taper. The reason for this is that too much incorrect information goes into the training data; if there were an AI that were exclusively trained on the work of Dr. Mark Horowitz or even on posts from online forums like this one, I would be more likely to consider its opinion.

@zlatinb Thank you for your response! Wow-you track a lot. I am not necessarily looking to AI to tell me how to taper but like you I am wanting to notice trends such as the intensity and frequency of my symptoms at different percentage drops. Any insights that can help the process go more smoothly I want to avail myself to! That's great that you have so many days of data under your belt.
