WD and Pure OCD

Featured Replies

Hi all!

One of my biggest challenges in all of this has been dealing with an intensification of pure OCD and false memory OCD themes as a result of taking escitalopram back in April, 2026. I have always had a subclinical baseline of OCD, so it never really had an impact on my life, but I noticed that it was getting a bit worse after dealing with what I believe to have been COVID and resulting neuroinflammation, which is how I ended up back on escitalopram. I was doing ERP therapy but felt like it was actually making me worse by triggering anxiety in my already hypersensitive nervous system, and I am beginning I-CBT as an alternative therapy. Does anyone have any insight on ways to deal with these types of OCD or whether there is a chance that it could return to my baseline subclinical level given plenty of time and healing?
