N2deep: A Better Tomorrow

Just figured I'd join the new club - link to my SA intro thread is below, though everything important about me is in my signature.

I want to thank those who've made the significant (I dare say heroic) effort to bring this forum into being and the many who will be taking part in volunteering here - as we cannot rely on heroic efforts ad infinitum. At least that's my takeaway. Since my drug hasn't caused me too much "excitement" lately, I mainly intend to help out here and there where I figure I can add some value.

Olanzapine (5mg) started June 2023 - This is the only drug I'm currently taking. I haven't used any other psych drugs.

After 4 weeks dropped to 2.5mg for 5 days then dropped to 1.25mg for 3 days (all on doctor's orders) - Severe withdrawal symptoms commenced. I then took a single dose of 3.75mg, then went to 2.5mg on July 19/23 and held.

I lack hubris and read academic literature - so it's safe to say I'm not a medical professional. Nothing I say should be taken as medical advice.

Thank you for crossing over and for joining here, and for updating your signature.

I'm glad that lately you have been tapering reasonably ok lately.

Helping out and adding value would definitely be appreciate by our members- as you pointed out, this place is a community and if everybody helps eachother a bit, it lightens the load.

I hope that eventually you're able to write a success story here and that you extract some value from this place as well.

Nothing I say is medical advice, it is simply my opinion. I am an anonymous person on an internet forum with no relevant qualifications other than being badly harmed by a drug. For all you know, I could be an idiot. You are making your own decisions and part of that is deciding how much to listen to my opinion, if at all.

Perhaps you should consider this post an artistic work of fiction written for entertainment purposes.

Appreciate it, Luke! I think I'll wait quite a while after I'm off to write a success story - wouldn't want to have to retract. But I don't expect it as I'm gonna jump pretty low.

Chippy - Right on, man. All I've got is the picture 🤣... I'm late to the game but I'm leaning towards a ZX-4RR - as soon as I discovered that tiny inline-4 I figured I have to have it. Some day soon I want to make a pilgrimage to your neck of the woods as it's watching the Isle of Man TT, North West 200 etc. that made me want a sport bike in the first place. I'm really into road racing and you guys live in mecca - or close to it.

Cool! So you just starting out riding?

Ive been off for a number of years. Was bike mad for a long time. I don’t know the ZX4RR but as I said I’m not up to speed with newer models.

I'd love to visit the TT one day. Used to really like watching the IOM coverage. Was very into MotoGP. It’s got a bit dull now for me or though I’m pleased to Marquez back in top. Miss the old guard there Rossi, Edwards, Lorenzo and all that.

Guy Martins my hero man.

I don't have a bike - if I do get one that Kawasaki mentioned is top of the list. Yeah, Guy Martin is quite the endearing character - the Fred Dibnah of road racing! I saw a video of him a while back showing off his Rolls-Royce Merlin engine he's got in his garage ... worth watching even just for his little anecdote about the time he revved it a bit too high, if you haven't seen it.

SA used to have a rule that success stories were to be written after a minimum of a year off of medications.

At the present, we have no such rule. However, I think you're right to wait a good while to make sure it is a success. I think a rigid year off is quite a long time if someone had a long, slow taper that was mostly uneventful before 0mg.

The problem is, you do want to encourage people to come back and write them- if they've been living drug and withdrawal free for such a long time they might not.
