It feels as if the ability to speak is failing. My voice has become very hoarse and feeble. Somedays it is somewhat better but mostly not.

Is this also a common withdrawal symptom? What can we expect. I still have to do a lot of tapering.

This isn’t one that comes to mind but with wd anything is possible as these drugs affect all of our bodies. Perhaps others will have had experiences of this.

I can testify to that. To my horror, my voice has changed. A few weeks ago I also had sore throats, which I attributed to hot/cold, but I’m not so sure about that anymore.

And even if it’s not mentioned clearly, the voices of some people in withdrawal/ still taking medication on the net sound clearly like robot voices.

It's great that this symptom is being recognized, but doesn't it seem that the most plausible explanation is "simply"

silent acid reflux

?

The same applies to chest pain, benzo belly, and many other symptoms.

A random singer on YouTube said she became an ex-singer because she can't sing anymore due to her reflux.

Does it make any sense?

Do you feel weak when your voice feels hoarse and weak? Because I think that just comes from the weakness these drugs cause, as if all of your energy can be zapped easily. Plus with all of our symptoms we don't feel like speaking a lot, do we?

Wow, actually I didn't think about it in this context but after reading your description I recalled immediately that this is really happening. Yeah, sometimes I fell so tired due to physical pain that it's hard even to speak! I mean - hard in physical terms. We can become so weak that even producing voices become hard! Yeah, fucked up!

But still, we have to keep in our minds that hoarseness is also a classic sign of (silent) acid reflux. So it could be interesting to see if anyone recognized this association....
