It's hard to believe that next month it will be 4 years since this rollercoaster began.

This hope is sustaining, no more big Pharma or greed:

Ps 37:10, 11, 29:

"Just a little while longer, and the wicked will be no more; You will look at where they were, And they will not be there.

But the meek will possess the earth, And they will find exquisite delight in the abundance of peace.

The righteous will possess the earth, And they will live forever on it."

❤️🙏

Interesting how you mentioned Psalm 37 and like an hour after you mentioned it, my wife sent me a text with the same Psalm 37. Definitely, God was speaking to me.....

Thank you, @LostinCanada! I am ok. I am not a naturally positive person, though. Working on that (& this experience definitely has me working harder on it). Currently, the good days outweigh the uncomfortable days. Hoping I can dig deep & find resilience & fortitude should that change. Thank you for always being a light.

So on Monday while I was reading, I had a very scary thing happen. I absolutely could not make out any words I was reading. I may as well have been looking at hieroglyphics.

Then my vision started doing the zigzag stuff and I figured it was an ocular migraine. The next day I did a bit of research and it talked about a migraine aura and transient aphasia.

I went to the doctor who referred me to the Stroke Foundation...he wanted to rule out a TIA.

Today I had a head MRI and saw the neurologist Dr Lockey at Vic General. My scan was normal. 🎉🎉🎉I told him to put that in writing lol. So we talked about protracted withdrawal, which thankfully he was knowledgeable about, and he mentioned how my CNS is no doubt frazzled from it. He said when a person has protracted WD, it makes diagnosis a challenge to doctors because of all the symptoms it presents. In the end, he said he is confident I had a migraine aura. So that's the story and I now have a major headache. 💯

*side note -they wanted to do a CT with iodine dye. I said no due to allergies. (histamine) My daughter reacted badly to hers having a rash and burning skin for over 24 hours. So they gave me a MRI instead which is better. I also refused sedation and did fine.

Hi LIC,

Gosh that would have been scary. With my daily head pain I sometimes get a patch of distorted vision with a zig zag outline. I have only had it about 3 times in two years. I def think it’s related to the Paroxetine as I never had any of it before tapering and up-dosing. Hope you are feeling a bit better x

I am glad nothing serious has been ruled out.

whoa that's a new one!! I used to see strobing and what not in my peripheral vision, which I thought was spicy 😂 Of all the side effects that were peculiar, the vision ones bumped me the most. I can't remember anymore but I read a theory, something about how the optic nerve gets affected during WD. It sure as heck affected mine!! 😆

I did the shuffle of scans and neurologists. Luckily nothing was found, but I did get some cool physical therapy that really helped me loosen up my upper back and reduce tension headaches. So yoga with cat-cow position, etc.

I'm super happy to hear that the scans were clear. I'm so proud of you for going through with all this. I know from experience it was ultra scary for me.

Sorry to hear about the headache. As you know, I muddled through with headache hats and things in WD.

I had those for years, and now I can't even remember the last time I had one. This is all going to be a distant memory for you too, one day. You're doing great. One foot in front of the other, I see you marching to the end of tapering.

Congrats again! ♥️

@LostinCanada I'm glad the scans were clear.

It's interesting you talk about sedation during MRIs, that is not the norm here- only when a patient is very much struggling. The USA and Canada seem quite drug-heavy in their treatment protocols compared to the UK. I'm sure some of it is down to saving the cost of using them all the time, but also there does seem to be more of a trend of "there's a pill for that" in NA.

Nothing I say is medical advice, it is simply my opinion. I am an anonymous person on an internet forum with no relevant qualifications other than being badly harmed by a drug. For all you know, I could be an idiot. You are making your own decisions and part of that is deciding how much to listen to my opinion, if at all.

The migraine aura sounds painful. It's interesting, though, that he was aware of withdrawal, and it's so true that it is a challenge for doctors in terms of diagnosing other issues.

What a difference a decade makes. I'm encountering more and more doctors who are at least aware of withdrawal now, whereas ten years ago I was practically laughed out of the exam room. At best they were dismissive; at worst, some were downright mean.

As for a CT with iodine dye, I had a very bad reaction to it as well. Sorry your daughter had to experience that. Great choice on your part to refuse.

I'm so glad your scan is considered "normal." Any sort of aphasia, even transient, sounds frightening.

Sorry you had that reaction. I couldn't imagine dealing with a reaction on top of all of this. The average person just trusts the process and never questions anything. I have such little faith in the medical system and yet we need them.

My CNS is definitely stressed at the moment. Hopefully it will settle quickly.

Thanks @RachelSusan

I am doing a bit better since the B12 fiasco , the migraine aura and then realizing I have probably been reacting to xylitol in the ginger supplement I was using for more than a year.

Tomorrow I plan to drop to 3.8 mg.

Praying it goes easier than the last drop.

Always in the back of my mind I am concerned about poop out, drug availability, etc so I keep going.

So for some reason I had massive anxiety last night. I have decided to wait a couple days before dropping to see if this is a one off or if I picked up a bug at the dentist on Tuesday.

I've had a headache since then and yesterday a bit of a sore throat so....

Hate this rollercoaster.

So for some reason I had massive anxiety last night. I have decided to wait a couple days before dropping to see if this is a one off or if I picked up a bug at the dentist on Tuesday.

I've had a headache since then and yesterday a bit of a sore throat so....

Hate this rollercoaster.

Deciding to wait before dropping sounds like a good call. Hopefully you wont get sick or anything like that!

@LostinCanada Wishing you luck on your upcoming drop. Waiting until you figure out what is going on with you and the anxiety passes sounds like a smart choice. May it be a very smooth drop for you whatever day it takes place.
