February 24Feb 24 Hello @zach1201, just wanted to drop by and say hi 🙂 I have also been switching from Sertralin to escilatopram and I’m now taping the latter. I have read in your thread and I am very sorry for what you had to go through. Crazy, how could they throw so many meds at you? I hope that you will find decent help with outro. Here in the forum you will find a lot of lovely peer-support, both will add well to your healing, I’m sure. I see that you have two little boys. Wow, this is an extra challenge while tapering. I remember the time when my boys were little, I was always exhausted. But also, looking back, it was such a special time because one is so close with the children, there’s so much love and care in the house. I wish you very much that you will find strength to cope with this super important task of being a father during this difficult health challenge. take good care! February 24Feb 24 Author The appointment went okay. The doctor thought a small increase to 1.2mg might help a bit with the withdrawal symptoms and re-assess in a month. However, time is really what is going to help healing. She thought somewhere in the time frame of at least 6 months of no major changes in terms of weaning. I don’t think I’m more confident, at this moment. I’m scared to do a small increase but also hopeful it might help alleviate some of the withdrawal symptoms. It’s helpful to know that an appropriate timeline for further healing is months at least. And that I shouldn’t think about weaning until more stable. Nemina @Nemina Thanks for taking the time to read my thread. Yes, it is quite sad that I am on so many medications. Hindsight is 20/20. I will eventually get off of them. I just need to get more stable before attempting. I suppose having the kids helps in that I can’t wallow around. It surely is exhausting though. Are things improving a little? You’ll reach stability at some stage. I’m at 1.014mg Escitalopram and I’ve noticed how much more difficult it is at these very low doses. My body and brain are throwing up the weirdest, scariest symptoms with each tiny decrease. If it’s any consolation I’m struggling too especially with fatigue, sleeping, and brain fog with intermittent adrenaline surges. I just tell myself it’s my brain’s way of telling me it’s re-adapting. You’re right - it does suck 🤗 Link to SA Profile: https://www.survivingantidepressants.org/forums/topic/32414-catbird-introduction-a-long-and-winding-road/1996 Commenced on Sertraline 50 - 100mg. March 5Mar 5 Author @Catbird Today makes a week of an increase of .1mg of escitalopram. I haven’t noticed any significant difference. A bit more activated is about it. The activation is getting a little better (meaning less of it) as the week has gone on.
