April 22Apr 22 Author Neurologist wants me to do an MRI and scan of my head and neck. She also called in ketorolac because this is what the hospital gave me through an IV a few weeks ago when I went in for migraine, nausea and high blood pressure and it helped my migraine. I don’t think I will be taking any medication unless I feel like I have to go to the emergency room again. I did have a headache today it was about a 4 on the scale, not a migraine but it was there. June 2Jun 2 Author Today I had my check up at the doctor. I told her I have been on 1 mg of Lexapro since my last visit and wanted to do liquid Lexapro here on out. She was a bit resistant at first but when I told her if she wouldn’t call in the liquid Lexapro I was going to make my own liquid and it will be difficult for me, she did a quick research and said she had never called in liquid Lexapro before but then she agreed. So tomorrow I will pick it up from the pharamacy. What a relief. So I will go down to .75 tomorrow I think. If you choose to do a 10%, the dosage would be 0.9 mg the after 28 days, 0.81 mg, then 0.73 mg, etc, 0.75 mg would be a 25% decrease. Also, changing directly to liquid is not recommended especially if you are changing manufacturer as well. Only one change should happen at a time otherwise if there is a reaction, you won’t know what is causing it.This link explains how to change from a pill to liquid:https://antidepressantrecovery.org/topic/251-using-manufactured-liquid%C2%A0antidepressants/#comment-6790When you get the liquid, please read carefully to get the dosing correct. You haven’t held very long to stabilize. June 2Jun 2 @Journey If it were me, I would sitck to the DIY liquid. If you do change you would want to do the crossover procedure as Lic has linked you too. I would give it some more time and let things settle for you personally. But when you start tapering you need to make reductions much smaller than 25%, I would suggest you make a very small reduction perhaps 1 or 2% and see how you cope before thinking about making a bigger reduction. But honestly I think finding a really nice stable base to taper from should your priority rather than getting off. Your system has had alot to deal with this last weeks/months.To further parrot Lic, well done for standing up for yourself with your doctor. If you want to switch to manufactured liquid perhaps let us know what mg/ML the liquid is and we can suggest a preparation for you to make up with it to make a crossover and subsequent reductions easier/more accurate. I thought I'd be at 1mg around Christmas/New Year, but my body just won't let me. Any tiny little change (like 2mcg) turns my body against me — the new and horrible WD symptoms still have me on edge and show no sign of abating. I was interested to read about your cholesterol. My LDL-C has shot up but my good markers — triglycerides (low) and HDL-C are great — and the ratio of these is a much greater predictor of cardiometabolic risk.I'll be interested to see how you progress now you're under 1!! You haven't long RI and I don't think personally you held your dose long enough before reducing. WD can be delayed and a 25% cut at this low dose was a big move. I would hold this dose now for at least another 3 weeks and see how you are. Personally I would consider holding it for a few months and then taper the rest of the way day much slower.A little caution on the BP meds, a google search suggest this drug isn't psyco active, but having cut 25% and added in a new drug into the mix, I would be very cautious about making any dose changes for the minute. July 15Jul 15 Author Thank you @Chippy and @Fullhealing you guys have been very kind and supportive throughout this process with some others I met on here.Something I forgot but want to add to my update from earlier, I am continuing to have my facial nerves twitch above my eye brow area. It started out as my eye lids twitching every now and again but it seems to be happening a lot more and it’s not my eye lids as much as it’s above my brows now and it’s more regular everyday. The eye lid twitching started slowly happening in January. When I started to significantly reduce my dosage of lexapro it seems to have increased the nerve twitching. It is a bit concerning since it started in January at the beginning of my tapering journey. August 20Aug 20 Author After speaking with my physician on August 3rd, I decided to stop my dose of .5mg. As of August 4th I have officially stopped taking Lexapro, Since stopping on August 4th, I have only had occasional eye twitching side effect which I have had since January. I have not had any other symptoms arise. I’m more than happy to deal with that than many of the previous horrendous symptoms I had early on. Please keep in mind everyone is different, what works or worked for you may not work for others. I wish everyone well.
