May 29May 29 Hi! I am LunaLove. I don’t know if there is a topic like this here on the site, but I figured I’d give it a try! @Chippy Please let me know if you like this idea, if not feel free to move it or delete.I think everyone on this site has all gone through some heavy stuff, and this idea came to me because everyone’s healing is different. Basically, share your comfort during this time, and see if it can help someone else! It’s somewhat like therapy in terms of coping, or just getting through another day. Maybe we could even share helpful podcasts, calming soundtracks, good books, hobbies for different things, etc.My history is on my page, but to surmise, anxiety has been the main thing for me. There are a few different things that have helped me. First, scripture. It may not be everyone’s cup of tea and I respect that. But a big one has always been the Psalms, where David would lament his trials beautifully. I am worn out from sobbing. All night I flood my bed with weeping, drenching it with my tears.God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in troubleI’ve taken great comfort and relatability from these for instance. Anxiety can be so isolating and overwhelming. Second, nature walks or sitting outside.Nature is therapeutic, I swear. Get out there, get out of your head as much as possible… ground yourself with birds singing, breeze in the air, soft grass, etc.I’ll think of more later, but for now I just wanted to share this idea! 😊 Started 5mg lexapro 10/10/25 for anxiety. Initially helped but had adverse neurological affects in my bladder. Had to stop after two weeks and tapered over a month. From December to currently I’ve been withdrawing since with waves and windows. About 60% better, thank God. Currently using Xanax prn. I will not touch another ssri and will be seeking God and healthy lifestyles.“No weapon formed against me shall prosper” Isaiah 54:17“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.“ Ephesians 6:12”Bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.” 2 Cor 10:5”Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.” Neh 8:10

June 7Jun 7 Author Hi all, thanks for commenting! Lately has been slightly difficult so I agree, scriptures are so comforting! The book of Job is a tough one! But it’s comforting to remember that regardless what happens in this world or to us, God is still in control.Though to be honest, managing anxiety lately had been very surface level for me, thankfully in the past. A cup of tea and light reading helped then, but now, it’s very raw and open in the faith. Literally crying as a mess and holding my bible tight, trying to keep waves or symptoms from overpowering me. I absolutely hate what I’ve gone through… but on the flip side, like Job, I’ve undeniably grown and learned from circumstances I’d never willingly experience. It’s nice to have fellow believers here ❤️ Started 5mg lexapro 10/10/25 for anxiety. June 10Jun 10 I find Scripture and prayer very important to managing my anxiety. The Bible puts things in perspective and can be very reassuring that suffering isn't endless nor is t meaningless. I think the Bible and Shakespeare's works beautifully cover all facets of the human condition, with Shakespeare applying to the secular world. When Jesus healed Peter’s mother-in-law, she got up and served the people in her house. When I learned to manage my anxiety, I decided I was healed for a reason and I needed to pay it forward. June 13Jun 13 Author I do have to say, many of the members of this site are the some of the strongest people I've known (regardless online). Yes, there isn't much choice to go through what we've gone through, but everyone here has such resilience and strength whether they know it or not. Any average person off the street suddenly thrown into this would have thought it was the end of the world; but thankfully whether we were once that person or not, we have learned much since that moment. In spite of that so many members are able to bring comfort and empathy to others in our personal hells.God bless y'all. This world is hard enough, especially with these trials, but I have no doubt some of you guys do the Lord's work. Healing, hope for the future again.. normalcy. June 30Jun 30 Author Hi all, I found this Christian perspective online for any fellow believers or whoever wants to read. Some of us like myself take both a scientific and spiritual approach to things, so I hope it may help the mind as it has me.Getting Rid of Torment in Your MindOne of a Christians’ enemy’s greatest tactics is tormenting the mind. He fills our thoughts with fear, shame, anxiety, regret, and endless “what if” scenarios in an attempt to steal our peace. But as believers, we do not have to live under that kind of oppression. God’s Word gives us a clear path to freedom. The first step is to reject the lie and replace it with the truth. Every thought that contradicts God’s Word must be taken captive (2 Corinthians 10:5). If a thought tells you that you’re hopeless, remember that God is the God of hope. If it tells you that you’re alone, remember that He has promised never to leave nor forsake you.Next, bring everything to the Lord in prayer. Philippians 4:6-7 tells us not to be anxious about anything, but instead to present our requests to God with thanksgiving. When we do, His peace guards our hearts and minds. Peace is not the absence of problems. It is the presence of Christ in the middle of them. Finally, fill your mind with God’s presence. Spend time in Scripture. Worship. Thank Him even before you see the breakthrough. The more your mind is occupied with the things of God, the less room there is for torment to take hold. You don’t have to live in mental bondage. Jesus came to set the captives free. As you surrender your thoughts to Him each day, His truth will silence the enemy’s lies, and His peace will begin to rule your heart and mind. Freedom begins when you stop agreeing with the enemy and start agreeing with the Word of God. Started 5mg lexapro 10/10/25 for anxiety. The power of prayer is immense, @LunaLove96Can you pray? It’s difficult for me and I feel terribly sorry for myself, because I have the impression that I am abandoning the Lord, and not that he is the one who abandons me. How can one pray while being totally disconnected from oneself, others, from all sensations, from reality, etc? It’s so difficult! Most often all I can do is to confide to the Lord that I can’t pray. I read an excellent little book on prayer a few months ago, and nothing is more important in a prayer than the heart you put into it. The most powerful prayer is the simplest: just telling God that we love Him. Nothing else. He doesn’t care about the rest; He already knows everything. There are so many things to say about this.Just pray with love and humility. The Lord does not like lies, cold feelings, or selfishness etc in this act. It seems simple to say and understand, but praying correctly is quite an art in the sense that some pitfalls are to be avoided. I no longer have the book in front of me, but I will put the reference here later if it might interest someone. @Raymond said: "In the name of Jesus, we will all heal." I hope so much and I also hope that this suffering will be returned to us, in some form, during our life after wd or in another life. In the book of Job, Jesus returns a hundredfold what he had lost: more cattle, more children... Is it really that naive to believe that, or do we have to do it at all costs? From personal experience, I know that the worst moments of turmoil in a life are immediately followed by wonderful periods. I really believe that there is a certain invisible balance in this world. It’s hard to believe it so clearly when you’re going through a hell like this, when you can just rejoice (intellectually speaking only) that you’re alive every day.Which passage from the Bible is talking to you right now? July 2Jul 2 Hi all! I love this topic. I know not everyone is able to do this, depending on their WD symptoms, but I've been spending a lot of time reading in WD. I have a lot of brain fog, so I pick novels that aren't too dense and are pretty easy to follow, and that are pretty lighthearted or at least have happy endings.Does anyone else find themselves reading a lot to get through the day? If so, I would love to hear any book recommendations! And I'm happy share some recommendations myself if anyone is interested 😊. July 2Jul 2 Author Also, something I’d forgotten that helps me. Gratitude. I know what you’re thinking. We’re in the practical fight of our lives, so.. being grateful? I’m not saying this works in the more difficult moments, but when it does ease and I still am not 100%, mindset is everything. It shifts your focus from the negative to positive and helps if I’m feeling hopeless or sinking. For instance, things we take for granted. I can walk. I got up this morning. I have food to eat and to drink. I’ve got air working in my lungs. My heart works.I wonder how many people didn’t wake up this morning. Or they’re looking at us thinking they wish they could do something again.Working in healthcare I’ve seen many people in difficult situations, and my mind always goes to someone when I think about how bad my situation is. Just food for thought. It lifts me up. Started 5mg lexapro 10/10/25 for anxiety. Initially helped but had adverse neurological affects in my bladder.

And I'm happy share some recommendations myself if anyone is interested 😊.I read the entire original Sherlock Holmes series by Arthur Conan Doyle. Most of the stories are fairly short so you don't have to commit to lengthy reading sessions. They're also pretty light but interesting enough to keep your attention. What are some of your go-to books?
