March 17Mar 17 Author I guess I should take the Ativan like usual. I am so unmotivated, flat feeling with waves of sadness today..I just can’t function. Also, to get 14mg of imipramine ive been swallowing 1 10mg tablet then dissolving a 10mg imipramine tablet in 20ml of water, mixing it well, syringing out 4mg and squirting that in my mouth.. drinking it down with water. There’s really no way of knowing how much medication I’m getting in this liquid. Hi @Tulip I went through your thread a bit and I'm wondering why your last cuts were relatively large? the lower doses are harder and this is where it's better to be more careful, and btw, benzo's (Ativan) can definitely cause a lack of motivation and a general feeling of being shut down. Yes if you’ve been taking it regularly you should now. If you can feel stable and feel the Ativan is causing you to feel flat you could start to reduce it. As you’ve not been on it long you can come off quicker. I’m lost if I’m honest with how much you take and when. Start by establishing a base line regular dose of everything for 14 days and let’s go from there. Can you confirm what that will be and write it in your signature? 9 hours ago, Tulip said: Also, to get 14mg of imipramine ive been swallowing 1 10mg tablet then dissolving a 10mg imipramine tablet in 20ml of water, mixing it well, syringing out 4mg and squirting that in my mouth.. drinking it down with water. March 21Mar 21 Author I have to take my restless legs med (mirapex) an hour or two before I take my imioramine bc the imioramine makes my restless legs crazy. Last night I took the mirapex as usual and 30 minutes later my restless legs was actually worse then it had been in a while. I had to get up and walk around and distract myself for about thirty minutes before my legs calmed down. I have been having a string suspicion for a couple of years now that the imioramine is prob causing my restless legs. I’m curious as to why my rls is going crazy all of a sudden after take the medication to stop it all of a sudden. Maybe bc of my lowering the imipramine dose? Maybe I don’t need the mirapex anymore? When things have a bit you can perhaps start to taper this first and see how you react. July 19Jul 19 Author Since getting down to lower doses I’ve noticed each time I taper my restless legs is much worse. I went down to 14 mg and my system settled down about a week later. I gradually got down to 10mg and now suddenly every night about an hour after I take the imioramine the restless legs is so bad I can barely stand it. I experimented and skipped the imipramine completely a couple of nights and my restless legs was completely back in control with the medication I take for it. I’ve tried lowering the dose to see if that would help, still crazy restless. July 19Jul 19 From what I could think of, you may have tapered the drug too fast, since when you went down to 14mg it did pass after 1 week but after that you tapered more, it came to a certain point the restless legs require a longer time to pass. generally the lower doses do most of the effect on the receptors with these drugs.25 minutes ago, Tulip said:I experimented and skipped the imipramine completely a couple of nightsPlease try to avoid skipping doses. as it can cause more instability which will take longer to recover from. July 19Jul 19 Author No, i meant that after I got to 14 it took about a week for the restless legs to settle down. I didn’t taper again for a few more weeks.
