I’ve made the switch from SA Just a quick summary: Starting in October 2017 I had some difficulty sleeping because of a stressful few months at work. When I went to my Dr for annual physical I mentioned my sleep issue. Thats when it all started. He said take this 30mg diazepam at night and you’ll be good. At the time I didn’t know what it was and took it every night for a month. I no longer had stress at work and wanted to quit the diazepam so Dr said no problem just stop. I quit cold turkey and a week later was hit with suicidal depression, panic attacks, fear, extreme anxiety, insomnia and many more symptoms. I’ve never had any of that and it scared me so my Dr sent me to Psychiatrist. January 2018 I was put on 15mg mirtazapine, 100mg seroquel, 1mg lorazepam. I eventually weened off lorazepam in March 2018. My symptoms persisted over the years and in January 2019 Paxil 20mg was added with the 15mg mirtazapine and 100mg seroquel. In April 2021 Paxil was increased to 30mg along with 15mg mirtazapine and 100mg seroquel. In February 2024 Paxil increased to 40mg along with 15mg mirtazapine and 100mg seroquel. Fast forward to today July 2024 and I’m back in severe wd. I now realize they kept increasing my dose because it would poop out. After finding SA in July 2024 I began tapering paroxetine using brass monkey method. I shave and weigh pills. I went from 40mg to 16.5mg from July 2024 to July 2025. I ended up crashing hard August 20, 2025 with severe wd symptoms. I updosed to 18.5mg in September 2025 and have been holding since then. Oct Nov 2017 - 30mg diazepam every night. CT Dec 2017 extreme wd Jan 2018 - 15mg mirtazapine, 100mg seroquel, 1mg lorazepam (taper off Mar 2018) Jan 2019- 20mg Paxil, 15mg mirtazapine, 100mg seroquel April 2021- 30mg Paxil, 15mg mirtazapine, 100mg seroquel Feb 2024 - 40mg Paxil, 15mg mirtazapine, 100mg seroquel July 2024 in withdrawal from Paxil poop out. February 4Feb 4 Thank you for crossing over and for joining the forum, and for updating your signature. I'm sorry to hear that you're going through a difficult month, I hope that February is more manageable like the months before it were. Do you feel that the difficult months are related to the drops you are making, or that they are just ups and downs in withdrawal? It appears you've been holding through January, is that accurate? Nothing I say is medical advice, it is simply my opinion. I am an anonymous person on an internet forum with no relevant qualifications other than being badly harmed by a drug. For all you know, I could be an idiot. You are making your own decisions and part of that is deciding how much to listen to my opinion, if at all. February 8Feb 8 Author I’m still struggling terribly. Today is the worst in 4 months. My symptoms are very intense- chemical anxiety, depression, anhedonia, screaming tinnitus, noise sensitivity, dizzy, extremely activated brain like finger in electrical socket and like I’m on crack, pounding and fast heart rate, and many more. I can’t seem to stabilize with this long hold. I’m very worried about poop out now that I’ve held so long. I’m terrified of getting worse if I continue holding and terrified of getting worse if I taper. I don’t know what to do but I can’t handle much more of this. Increasing, which seems temporary and counterproductive at this point or decreasing. If you decrease by a small amount, I think you will quickly know whether this is good or bad. What do you think about this? Trying a 2% decrease max.... something like this. Did you find out anything about this drug batch/expiry? It's possible...I know it can take a long time but there was a positive response from the updose so I don't think this should be happening. I would like to see if that batch of pills is involved. There is a possibility this is a crazy wave.... I mean a wave is all about the body readjusting, which is necessary for healing, and your body needed to do this after the crash. Maybe it’s taking longer to stabilize because of that? I don’t know what to do. I’m thinking about giving it another week. I’m just so terrified of cutting and being wrong about poop out.
