March 27Mar 27 Author Hi all. I've decided to RI after much debate. I'd like to start on a lower amount as I am afraid of kindling. I feel like I have over consumed a bit on information today. I've tried to read as much as I could regarding the topics we discussed today on SA so I can better understand what is going on in my body. In doing so I've also scared myself too. We are currently trying to turn (1) 10mg capsule into a liquid. I've read the guides but are struggling a little bit with the dosing. Is it correct that if I dissolve (1) 10mg capsule in 10ml of water that then taking 1ml = 1mg of Prozac? I feel like it might be distributed unequally in the water. We are using new insulin needles we have for measuring. I've read other posts about liquid prozac and it seems like 1ml does not equal 1mg. I'm struggling, sorry if this is a dumb question. I wonder if I will need to revisit this in the morning. I'm not sure I am doing this correctly. Hope is Healing. Healing from severe separation anxiety, panic, and OCD stemming from childhood. 2011-2013 Zoloft 50mg, no noticeable improvement in symptoms from taking it. ~2015 Luvox 25mg, no noticeable improvement in symptoms from taking it. ~2017-2022 Prozac 10mg increasing up to 40mg, no noticeable improvement in symptoms from taking it. ~2022 tapered off Luvox from 25mg to 0mg successfully. March 27Mar 27 Author Okay, I was able to obtain more detailed records from my doctor regarding my prior withdrawal on Prozac. I have updated my signature. If anyone is able, would you mind reviewing it and giving me your thoughts? Basically, all heck broke loose for me in October of 2025 following molybdenum supplementation my doctor put me on for mold illness. Basically I took it and saw and immediate spike in panic/anxiety/intrusive thoughts/and overwhelm that I have not recovered from since then. Basically my inability to be alone from fear started then. I did have some backsliding in symptoms over 2024 but I was still living a mostly functional life. I am trying to figure out if Prozac withdraw is a component of this rapid decline I saw in October or if I am trying to make a correlation that is simply not there. I am completely aware that my current worsened symptoms the past few weeks are from my too rapid taper over the last month of Prozac. That being said I started getting much worse in October and I am not sure if I can attribute it to Prozac. I have a history of always digging and digging and digging trying to find the root cause and sometimes I feel like I just get myself stuck in a hole. I do have a very open minded doctor and over the past year she has been fairly stumped (and honest about it with me) as to the root cause of my issues from October to now. I have been to a number of doctors and she has by far been the best so I am not really wanting to keep seeking out providers. I am one of her most sensitive patients (which I have been described as by almost every doctor I've seen.) I just keep trying to figure out what went wrong in October and how I can fix it. I've tried researching the potential connection between molybdenum and Prozac in brain receptors and found some evidence that Prozac alters the function of glutamate which would contribute to some neurotoxicity potential with molybdenum but there are relatively no studies and I really had to dig to even make that connection. As always, thoughts are appreciated. Hope is Healing. March 27Mar 27 @HopeHeals This is my take on it all....though speculation, I think it is pretty accurate. You had a negative reaction to molybdenum. This would have effected your CNS. The fact you updosed fluoxetine and that made no difference rules out that it was fluoxetine causing the issue. Since your too fast taper, you now have added withdrawal. No matter the complications from molybdenum, the withdrawal from dropping to zero needs to be addressed. You body needs stability. We can not undo anything from the molybdenum, but we can help cushion withdrawal. It is just a matter of time now for healing and stability. I was thinking about trying out 2mg and updosing after a few consistent weeks from there if needed. Would that further mitigate the kindling effect potentially? That would be 10% of the 20mg I think. From reading online I feel like my sensitivity lends me to be very susceptible to a potential kindling event. Typically I have to be very careful with any supplements I take because I often react negatively to them. Hope is Healing. No major withdrawal symptoms. 2023-2025 tapered Prozac from 40mg to 10mg * Prozac 40mg -> 35mg 3/2023-5/2023 * Prozac 35mg -> 30mg 5/2023-6/2023 * Prozac 30mg -> 25mg 6/2023-7/2023 * Prozac 25mg -> 15mg 8/2023-12/2023; Married & travelled out of country early in this period, I was mostly stable and happy. * Prozac 10mg from 12/2023-11/2025; After 12/23 under extreme academic stress for 3-6 months. Biggest crash in unbearable anxiety, panic, and intrusive thoughts beginning in October 2025 after taking molybdenum as a supplement recommended by my doctor. It seems the molybdenum triggered an immediate bad reaction in the brain. * Prozac 20mg from 11/2025-2/2026; November 2025 increased due to symptoms, no noticeable improvement in symptoms from increase. * Prozac 20mg -> 10mg 2/26/2026 - 3/8/2026; No symptoms 5 days, days 6-9 bad WD, day 9+ improvement in mood and intrusive thoughts. * Prozac 10mg -> 0mg 3/8/2026; Bad withdraw symptoms starting at Day 17 off 10mg. Intolerant to Ativan, Xanax, (and oddly Oxycodone) from a young age. All of which give me severe tremors and panic episodes.

Would that further mitigate the kindling effect potentially? That would be 10% of the 20mg I think. From reading online I feel like my sensitivity lends me to be very susceptible to a potential kindling event. Typically I have to be very careful with any supplements I take because I often react negatively to them. We have dialled in some caution already with the 5mg. We can’t know for sure what is right. April 3Apr 3 Author Hi all! Checking back in today, I apologize for my absence. In all honesty the past week has been a roller coaster. Back last week when I was discussing the worsening of my symptoms and wanting to taper, there was something else going on in my body I didn't realize. Last Tuesday I was really starting to feel off and I couldn't put my finger on it. I blamed the Prozac withdrawal (which I am sure is a component of it). I kept getting worse and worse, symptoms including intrusive thoughts, fear, anxiety, depression, the whole works. Then sometime about Tuesday-Thursday I developed a low grade fever, and a whole boat load of viral symptoms started, fever, aches, pain, congestion, exhaustion, etc. On Saturday I went to urgent care and tested positive for RSV. I learned I've been coming down with this for at least a week prior. I am not exaggerating when I say since last week to now is the sickest I have ever been in my life. My family also caught it, but their symptoms were milder. I had a consistent fever for 6 days, severe throat pain, coughing, the whole works etc. Yesterday and today I finally am on the mend from RSV but expect to still have symptoms lingering for another week. I really did not want to updose when I realized I was very sick and feverish. I was feeling a bit delirious from the fevers and did not feel like I could make a good decision. I was afraid if I did updose and had a negative/positive reaction I would have no way of knowing if it was related to the illness or not. I am also curiously wondering if my withdrawal symptoms will move back into a little more tolerable pattern as the virus finally leaves my body. I do wonder how much that may have been agitating my central nervous system. So that is what is going on with me right now! I guess I do have one question rattling in my brain. Are there people who CT a dose and do get better over time? Or is it always damaging and unproductive? I've kinda seen a lot of varying information but I am a little bit between "stick it out for a year CT" and "go back to prozac tapering." I will say for context as to why I am not quick to make a decision, and come across as wishy washy, is that I wholeheartedly believe that Prozac has been the root cause of severe/debilitating intrusive thoughts in my brain. I see it as a poison in my body and I am sad it took me so many years to figure it out. Hope is Healing. April 3Apr 3 7 minutes ago, HopeHeals said: Are there people who CT a dose and do get better over time? Or is it always damaging and unproductive? Yes, most people get better. Reinstatement cushions the depth of the withdrawal symptoms. It is not a perfect solution either. Unfortunately there are no guarantees either way.... reinstatement often helps people be more functional but once stable, you are left tapering. 11 minutes ago, HopeHeals said: "stick it out for a year CT" Reinstatement is best done within 3 months. The longer you wait, the less likely the success of it helping. As mentioned with prozac, because of the long half life, the symptoms of WD often peak outside that 3 month period. ❤️🙏 I am not a medical professional. I see it as a poison in my body and I am sad it took me so many years to figure it out. Very sorry about the virus @HopeHeals sounds tough and certainly makes it difficult for the system to cope while in withdrawal. Regarding increasing or continuing as is, if the symptoms are at a tolerable level, I would consider continuing for a predetermined period of time and seeing how it goes, the goal is to get rid of this poison eventually so if you can pull that it's certainly worth it, increasing is always an option whose results cannot be predicted in advance anyway. And people definitely get better even after CT the initial blow is harder yes but the body knows how to recover well from that too. Whatever you decide, we are with you. Ideally we wouldn’t be on them at all. People certainly do recover. Everyone gets there eventually. Unfortunately we just don’t know the journey from here. Either choice is a valid one. You may find a fairly low dose props you up enough, making a taper less long and any side effects more bareable. As you know, sooner rather than later is best, but I get your hesitation. Main thing as LIC said is the half life. It could take some time to see the full wd effect. What ever you decide we are here for you as always.
