I have not posted on my own page for a while...it will be a full month Feb of extra stuff besides work, volunteering, and keeping pace with my teenaged son--ha ha good luck with the last one!

My next step down is soon from 0.41mg dose from 0.44mg.

-I had a vein ablation in my left thigh on Feb 10 and will have another Feb 24 in my right thigh--doing this now before our insurance resets Mar 1--then we have a deductible to pay before benefits kick in again...although routine check ups are covered--this is for the non-States folks. The ablation is not that bad...just painful initially where they insert the catheter and then uncomfortable for a few days but can walk right away--as they want you to do so to improve healing. Family history of varicose veins but I had spider veins since a kid--those are not so great either.

-Then, I will be with my mom this weekend for 4 days helping her with a foot surgery (3rd one on the same foot--please pray for her) and her elderly dog with all of his requirements too. So I hope to make the drop down between being with my mom and the 2nd ablation. I have enough of current dose to take me to next week Thursday--so it was kismet?

-I will tell you the local anesthetic was a bit weird on the taper brain--feeling off, a bit absent minded, more lightheaded when bending over than usual, needing routine. It would be weird for me anyhow as I am so sensitive to Rx.  With that in mind, I am okay with this slow taper--a little less than 10%. I know I will be stressed with all of this but it will be okay and so will my taper.

-But at least some of the Medicaid (like NHS) insurance issues with my in-network status and a few claims have been finally taken care of. It was a real road in 2025 with Medicaid. I want to provide for people who cannot afford insurance but why do they have to make it is darn hard on us providers? No wonder why so many leave the panel.

So things are going pretty well over here. I have my moments with hormonal shifts with my cycle and being in perimenopause. The supplements seemed to help me with my thyroid and getting off of thyroid Rx. We will see how that continues to go--adrenals could use some work! These Rx definitely mess with the HPA axis and so much more. I do have have flare ups of old memories surfacing or a needy attachment style, etc. But as I am working through this, I seem be able to handle it well. I feel like this can be a source of encouragement for others.

I will pray for everyone again today and be back on some time soon. Take care everyone!

Good news @namastejen1 sounds like you are coping wonderful with everything that comes your way, lovely to read, also glad that you have found beneficial supplements, hormones in withdrawal are brutal, so anything that helps is a blessing.

Praying that the procedures go well for your mother and you with a quick and painless recovery and good luck with the next cut, may it go smoothly.

Thank you for your constant encouragement and prayers for all of us here, stay strong and well.

Thanks @Fullhealing and @The_Taper_Man. I appreciate your kind words and prayers for my mom and me. I want to spread the word that it can go well during a taper. It wasn’t always “easy”. Still it’s 7-8/10 lately. I’m glad I have my energy back. Though, I can get really irritable and not like my behavior at times. I’m still really grateful for the windows that I know everyone will have on a consistent basis. It’s only a matter of patience and time.

I hope going back to work is a good experience @The_Taper_Man; it helps to focus/anchor the mind, routine is good too. You will get there, keep positive to keep stress down, have faith that you will get to a good spot to return!

I do have have flare ups of old memories surfacing

Hi Jen,

isn't it weird how old uncomfortable memories will suddenly pop up? It's like where the heck did that come from? I wonder how that works neurologically. And I, too, get irritable and impatient when I'm experiencing symptoms. So strange how this withdrawal process affects our thoughts. Awful but fascinating to me.

And you sound good. Hallelujah!

Sept 1993 Began paroxetine 20 mg for anxiety and depression- worked like a charm.

1st taper - Aug 1995 tapered over 3 weeks before getting pregnant- great at first, crashed at one month. White knuckled it through 2 miscarriages. Spring 1996 (?) Reinstated paroxetine 20 mg.

2nd taper- Spring 2008 tapered off paroxetine over 4 months. Summer 2008 crashed horribly, nearly incapacitated by WD; Summer 2008-Summer 2009 tried 4 different ADs, none as effective as paroxetine.  Summer 2009 Reinstated 20 mg paroxetine, not as effective as previously.

3rd taper- Jun 19, 2019 began 10 mg paroxetine, 10 mg fluoxetine for one week. Jun 26 20 mg fluoxetine, 5 mg paroxetine for one week. Jul 3- 20 mg fluoxetine + lorazepam (0.5 mg) as needed up to 2x/day. Aug 12- 30 mg fluox; Sept 3- .5 mg clonazepam daily; end lorazepam; Sept 5- 40 mg fluox;

End of 2019- returned to paroxetine 20 mg/day most of the year, 30mg/day in the winter.

Thanks so much everyone--so many to tag here! It was really busy at my mom's--I basically had downtime to sleep..lol. It has taken me until this morning to feel back to my normal energy. I was really wiped out Sunday night when I got home and Monday during the whole day. It is tiring anyway but with taper brain, I feel like it takes me longer to regroup, especially with family triggers too. My mom is on the mend, and I pray that she will be able to walk normally again. The last surgery she had made her right big toe impossible to fully touch the ground when she walked. That doctor never took fessed up that he goofed on the procedure. So it shortened the tendon on top of the foot that connects the big toe. New doctor explained everything--that he had to stretch that tendon an inch and a half to bring back proper mobility--that's nuts!

I had another vein ablation on my right leg today. It went smoothly, probably because I knew what to expect from the left leg 2 weeks ago. Family issues with the veins--spider veins since a child. Though I see people much older than myself or my husband at the vein center (his family has issues too--my son needs to watch out for sure!). But better to get this completed earlier in life, I guess, if it's noticed. I get it that the U.S. though might be a bit overboard with our medical system in terms of all of these procedures or what's so readily available. I feel fortunate to be able to do this and see if it truly makes a difference in bloodflow back up.

Anyhow, I am glad to be back on here and will check out others posts. So much happens when I am away, in even a typical week--I hope for the better for everyone. Blessings Everyone!!

Anti-histamine Withdrawal Video-Explains a lot (This is not me.)

You did well to even get to your thread and post. It takes so much brain energy this whole thing and I agree, way longer to regroup and recover. Happy your mum is on the mend and I hope your vein surgery helps your venous return. My aunt has shocking trouble with varicose veins and blood flow back upwards and has done all her life.

Yep a lot happens on here that is for sure. I can't keep up.

Rest well xx

@namastejen1 glad your procedure went smoothly and prayers for your mother to get well.

Totally relate, taper 🧠 is a beast, life has been on hold for a while now, I'm just surviving but we do what we can with the knowing it's temporary.

You seem to be coping so well, that's great.

Take care stay well.

I am back from a busy week last week catching up at home/work and then my son brought home something from school. Some sort virus...slept a lot on Sunday, was super achy like a proper virus but never seemed to get a high enough fever. I actually went to church because it was my week to cantor--I don't like leaving my responsibilities hanging with a morning's notice that I can't come in. It was okay but then when I got home, it was time to drop onto the couch. I would have liked to be on here more interacting...but needed to be a couch potato--read books and listen to podcasts and then fall asleep as needed.

Thanks again for all the well wishes. I am hoping this head cold passes soon! Neti pot and steam is doing something along with homeopathy and thymus PMG.  I will catch up as much as I can now! Bless all of you!

Well friends, it has been about 2 weeks of this upper respiratory thing. Schmit hit the fan Monday evening with a substantial fever after a few days of immune boosting supplements (Thymex). I know this sounds weird but I looked forward to the fever knocking things out for me. I don't like antibiotics unless everything else has failed. So it's been lil ole me, a box of tissues, lots of tea, working remotely (yes, I know I should have been resting more), hacking up a lung figuratively, and the couch. I don't know how much can come out of one person but it seems to be slowing down today. This weekend will be a nice resting point. I am glad to be back to connect with all of you.

Hi Everyone, I’m so sorry to not have been on here for as long as I have. I’ve had those vein ablations (which I think started me down a slight rabbit hole), because then I became sick for over 2 weeks, was behind on business taxes  which had to be completed before Easter week, and then had choir obligations for 4 out of 6 days in Easter week. Even this past weekend was super busy with church commitments—last minute Larry situation of being asked to sing a mass on my own with about 12 hour’s notice—hardly any prep time and we don’t get compensated. Wow, this is a rant, which I hardly ever do—I guess it was about time…😜

Breathe in slowly, breathe out slowly.
I lowered my dose from 0.41 to 0.39mg over 2 weeks ago but still feel  slumpy. Mirt is just like this though and this time it took about a week to feel better after the drop, which is longer usual. I felt like giving up in the sense that I wanted to crawl into a ball and not do anything, which is very unlike me and makes me wonder if my adrenals are pretty fatigued out, if it’s tapering, or bit of both. I have more energy today but almost feel wired this evening because I’m also having some difficulty with my family. I had a good cry and feel better. That’s was a lot but it has been a lot lately.
I hope to look over and reply back to whomever has tagged me or would like some encouragement and/or prayers. I’m just a bit slow on here because of work and a teen in VB season and making his Confirmation next month.
May the rest of April be better for all of us. May God shower blessings on all of us believer or unbeliever because God is truly merciful and loving. If you’re an unbeliever and what I wrote doesn’t resonate with you, then it’s okay and I offer healing thoughts to you as an alternative. We are all getting through this together ♥️ Be well.

Anti-histamine Withdrawal Video-Explains a lot (This is not me.)

Hi Jen! I just responded on my thread before reading this. So you dropped your dosage recently. I know what it is to want to curl up and do nothing. I've got very little gumption these days but need to get things done anyhow.

How was today for you?

xxoo Jamie

Sept 1993 Began paroxetine 20 mg for anxiety and depression- worked like a charm.

1st taper - Aug 1995 tapered over 3 weeks before getting pregnant- great at first, crashed at one month. White knuckled it through 2 miscarriages. Spring 1996 (?) Reinstated paroxetine 20 mg.

Hey @gardengirl2 , I just posted on your thread, so I won't repeat here. I am doing better. Worked out like I used to for the first time in a long time. I hope to be good sore tomorrow and be able to keep up. I need to acclimate back to fitness. It is one of the most important coping strategies I have used for practically my whole life. Easy does it though, as I know my adrenals (and thyroid) will tell me if I overdid it.

I cannot blame everything on the tapering. I know Mirt is not an easy one to taper from, however, I have seasonal allergies, hormonal shifts (trying to rebuild my thyroid after half my life on Levothyroxine), stress in general, gut balancing, etc. I know Mirt plays a role in a lot of my Sx, but I always look for other causes too. And as woman, we need to be careful with stress and our hormones. I will be watching a master class on this soon. The thyroid master class was really good. It's all through selling Standard Process that we are provided education--not sure I can provide a link to anyone else as we need to sign in to access it. Maybe a bunch of us can do a watch party 😁.

I hope to be on here more. If I have enough energy (a spoon) after all the other spoons have been used for the day, I will certainly be on. I think about and pray for everyone on here. God bless everyone or healing thoughts!
