Guess that was a misstep since it sounds like that precludes the possibility of updosing citalopram for the time being. Unfortunately the sleep issues are just part of your wd. Yes I’d hold here and wait for a couple of weeks and see the effect of the increase. If you feel worse it could be the increase that has done it you see. I’d consider reducing it if you think the two are linked. Eventually there comes a point where you have to not try to fix things with dose shifts. Our control is limited. The body knows best. March 28Mar 28 Author Yes I have taken a bit of a beating the past couple of days. The throat biopsy on Thursday was much worse than I expected. I wound up with a big crater in my tonsil that got cauterized, and it's been quite painful ever since. Really hoping I can avoid getting an infection...lots of the usual "what if blah blah blah?!!!" thoughts. Then yesterday was the cataract surgery; I'd already been through it with the left eye so I knew what to expect and wasn't as apprehensive as I was the first time. Though I was still rigid with tension while I was lying on the operating table, but I expect everybody is! It hasn't worked out quite as well as the first time. The pressure in my eye went up, so I need extra drops for that, and the eye is much scratchier than it was last time, though supposedly that's just because it's so dry. I really appreciate your well wishes, it's a tough time right now, and while all this exacerbates the anxiety I'm already feeling, the wave I was in seems to have receded for now. Guess there's too much else going on and the old brain only has so much bandwidth! 😁 I'll be taking it very easy for the next few days. Yes, I've been doing just that! 4 hours ago, LostinCanada said: If you need to use moisturizing eye drops, make sure they are preservative free and have no anti redness drugs. Apparently those things can cause rebound. I use Candor Vision Hylo lubricating eye drop. March 29Mar 29 12 hours ago, Treefrog said: Yes I have taken a bit of a beating the past couple of days. Hoping for better days for everyone! ❤️ Sorry you’ve had a rough couple of days. I’ve actually never had any surgery myself but the idea isn’t exactly appealing to me! Think you’re brave doing through that and wd/taper at the same time. Hope it all heals up soon. Sorry it wasn’t as smooth as hoped. Rest easy. April 9Apr 9 Author Like so many others whose stories I've been reading, I just can't seem to stabilize; in my case, since the sudden wave that started two months ago. Any windows since then have been short-lived. Not that there's much I can do about it, but I expect one reason I can't settle is the other stress in my life right now. I've mainly recovered from the cataract surgery, but unfortunately my vision is still so poor that I will need to resume wearing glasses as soon as my vision stabilizes, which was definitely not the outcome I was hoping for. And I'm an only child with a mother who has dementia, which is rapidly getting worse. She still knows who I am but she no longer understands that I live 6 hours away from her and can't just pop in for a visit... She is in assisted living, but her needs are steadily increasing and the buck stops here . It's coming up to 3 weeks since I made a dose change, but I'm guessing that a citalopram updose probably isn't a great idea?
