I'm the same, @overthepill . When I worked full time I was a manager and solved problems every day. Its frustrating when there seems to be no solution other than acceptance and patience; I tried to find all sorts of solutions until I realized it takes time, patience, and tons of self-love to get through this, but you will make it!

My new glasses arrived a couple days ago, and since I started wearing them it has increased my spaciness and dizziness so I've got that going for me. Any tips on how to remedy nausea, my nausea has been pretty bad the last week or so.

A Comprehensive Timeline of Psychiatric Medication Trials and Drug-Free Periods

Initial Antidepressant Use and Early Drug-Free Interludes

• Summer 2016: Started Prozac 20mg

• Sometime in 2022: Supplemented the Prozac with Venlafaxine 150mg

• August 2024: Successfully stopped venlafaxine after 2 month taper.

• December 2024: Successfully stopped 9-year Prozac course.

• Jan–April 2025: Enjoyed a 4-month completely drug-free window to reset.

Exploration of Alternative Antidepressants and Stabilization Periods

• Spring 2025: Tried a 1.5-month Prozac reinstatement, followed by a 2-week break.

• Mid-to-Late 2025: Completed the 6-month Lexapro trial.

• Late 2025: Tried a 2-week Zoloft trial (stopped due to chest pains).

• Late 2025: Enjoyed a 1.5-month completely drug-free window where you stabilized.

Anxiety Medication Trials, Subsequent Breaks, and Current Treatment Phase

• Early 2026: Took Ativan for 6 weeks (with a 2-week Prozac trial overlapped inside it).

• Early 2026: Stopped the Prozac trial, followed 20 days later by stopping the Ativan.

• Spring 2026: Enjoyed a 6-week break (while clearing lingering Prozac markers).

• Late Spring 2026: Took Buspirone for 1 month, stopped due to chest pain side effects (triggering the original dizziness when stopped).

• May–July 2026: 9-week run of Lexapro stopped due to adverse reaction and currently in WD

@overthepill , how are you today, better I hope. Yes the waiting and healing process can be difficult but in the meantime think of it as one mer day toward healing and you don't have to relive it again, stay as positive as you can and distract as best you can and healing is surely happening every moment. I was where you are now but but the minutes turn to hours a nod hours into days and days into months,. As the time goes by remind yourself I'm better than yesterday and I'm doing better than last month. Healing is truly happening, just say I need let it be, I'm strong and will not let this WD defeat me, trust me your doing everything right and when you experience those windows hang on to them, because my fried Is what we all here have worked for. Hugs for now xxxx Bernadette

Hey Bernadette, unfortunately I'm in pretty bad shape today, my head spaciness and dizziness/lightheadedness is pretty strong today, I suspect it may be related to having switched to my new glasses yesterday. My sleep remains solid I am averaging 8 to 10 hours a night, but my days continue to be miserable, really hoping for a window of relief soon.

That's not surprising since you're dealing with WD, and that puts your system on edge to begin with. I've worn glasses since I was 12 and sometimes I get a pair that has the same effect. Limit the time you wear the new ones till your sight and balance adjust. It should only take a few days. Let us know how you're doing!

The thing is I was already dealing with vision symptoms as part of my ADR and withdrawal so the adjustment to the glasses has been rough, however the lenses on my old glasses are peeling so my vision is all weird looking through them so it's like what do I do?

Im finding it so hard to get out of bed today and I'm worried that staying in bed today is like giving up. I just don't have it in me to get up and do things today. Have you had days like that?

Oh yes, definitely. Some days we just need a break from any stimulus. Its not giving up if you treat it as a break and not as something you're going to do every day as a way to avoid dealing with the world. Use the time to recharge and recommit to recovery. You'll get through this!

I have always been honest to from the beginning my friend and I'll always be honest. Just getting out of bed is being productive, your moving, and sometimes for the time being that might be all you can do for now. I myself @overthepill was unable to lay in bed because in the back of my mind I was saying I'm giving up, that and the ruminations were awful. So as long as I got up and did the simplest thing I was productive. Our WD mind tries to defeat us and puts some sort of fear in us that says we can't. But I , myself wasn't going to let that happen,,because that's not who I was and who I am. Even during the worst of it , weather it be myself or my sister reminding how strong I am. I will be honest, I am my worst critic, and tougher on myself than anyone. So now I sit here and ask myself " Bernadette, are you just gonna sit her or are you gonna fight like heck"!! I fought like heck maybe because I wasn't going to let the mistake of trusting a Doctor who gave me some stupid pill. I hold myself accountable, because at any given time I could of said no, I'm not taking it. I still have that fight and determination and I refuse to let this beat me. I think pushing myself has shown me exactly how much fight I had left, and gave me the determination to say no more , not today, this does not get to define me. You have a fight deep down inside you @overthepill , I read it in your words you are not defeated, you are strong, and the fight inside you is waiting to come out and say, " Not today, not this time I will not be defined by this, I am strong. My dear friend you have the willingness and courage to get past this and by the grace of God he will help you through. Hugs my friend 🤗

I got out of bed and made myself some food, your encouragement is much appreciated. I don't know how long this recovery will take but having a place where I can come and talk about it with people who genuinely care is priceless. I hope you are having a great day Bernadette!

I'm glad I'm not alone in this, I ended up getting up but it's good to know if I have a day where I can't that I don't have to feel guilty. Thank you for the words of encouragement!

I miss feeling calm, and relaxed and present. I feel like it's been so long since I just had a moment where I kicked back and relaxed and felt at peace and present in the moment, I always feel tense and anxious and out of it it's so exhausting to deal with this day after day! 😔

It will come. Anticipatory anxiety is awful because it keeps you constantly on edge, and you begin to imagine a disastrous end to almost everything. You will get your peace back, rest assured of that.

Today is day 25 off of the medication and each day has felt worse than the last, I'm really hoping for some type of relief or at least a plateau in my symptoms. At this point I'm regretting stopping the medication because of the adverse reaction symptoms because it's gotten so much worse since stopping 😞

Unfortunately, what you're experiencing is not unusual. When we're in the middle of a bad window, its common to want to "go back to the way I was", even though that wasn't a great place, either. But staying medicated is not the answer, because eventually the drugs stop working and you aren't the "real you" when you're hidden behind a mask of AD's. You will find your way through this, trust me. I had many of the same feelings you're having and I made it to the other side. You will too.

I miss feeling calm, and relaxed and present. I feel like it's been so long since I just had a moment where I kicked back and relaxed and felt at peace and present in the moment, I always feel tense and anxious and out of it it's so exhausting to deal with this day after day! 😔

@overthepill what you explained is exactly what I went through in my earlier months when I stopped citalopram, it is truly exhausting at times, I'm not gonna lie to you I did go through this for about two and a half months, with very brief windows which some only lasting up words of 20 minutes to a couple hours. But those are the things that keep me going. And I held on to that feeling because that's what I know I will experience when I'm 100% that glorious, safe, happy joyful feeling. Please don't get discouraged, this is part of the healing process. But remember, everyone is different and heals differently. Some faster as some at a slower pace. You are in my thoughts and prayers for some needed relief. Hugs xxx Bernadette

I just had my first therapy session, I'm hoping they can help me with anxiety coping strategies and acceptance throughout this process.

You felt like this for 2 and a half months? It's been 3 and half weeks for me and I'm losing it. What did you do to get through this time? I feel like I can't do anything I don't enjoy anything right now because of how I feel. I miss doing things I enjoy and actually living my life instead of just surviving the days 😞

That’s great, @overthepill ! My therapist was really the key to me weaning off Paxil and learning coping skills. Wishing you only good things to come of it!

I'm not sure if you told me earlier but do you work? Do you have any intrests/hobbies? I did work the entire time during my tapering and WD, not by choice but because I had to, but in reality I was grateful for it, even though it was extremely difficult my first year, it kept my mind from ruminating, and kept me distracted. I did try some coping skills, self tapping, some yoga, humming, which sounds kinda like your saying the letter R , a lot of time it was mainly distracting myself with anything and everything, cooking, gardening, mowing lawn if I tolerated the noise from the mower, knitting, word finds, my flower bed. And of course reaching out to my sister and daughter, and sometimes just crying my eyes out, just the soothing sound of her voice calmed me on many occasions, she has stood by me through this whole ordeal and never left my side, even though she lives in Ohio, find that 1 comfort person close to you that you can learn on and doesn't judge, but listens a supports. And but the thing that has helped also is my faith in the Lord my God who has carried me even at my darkest moments. He has truly given me the strength to keep going. I know this is difficult @overthepill but honestly there is no time frame in the healing process, because as I have mentioned before everyone heals differently and some quicker and some take longer. Hugs for now xxxx Bernadette, you will get through this.

I expressed to her that my main fear right now is going into protracted withdrawal because I discontinued the Lexapro at 2mg due to the adverse reaction.
