March 11Mar 11 Author Thank you @Tracey and @Fullhealing. I’ve been at this for quite a while now, the waves seem less intense and I’ve learn’t to cope with them a little better too. This one will pass in time just as the previous ones did. I hope you both find that your symptoms ease soon. Thinking of you both. Nick March 2024 Mirtazapine 15mg x 4 doses. I’m sorry, what a long road… but you’re obviously very patient. Lack of sleep is terrible and four hours is really short. Yes, I have carefully resumed my taper. I don’t think that it has worsened in my condition, wich is good. But there’s still a long way to go. it seems like I haven’t left a lot of medicine to taper. But considering how slow I am going, and that I probably have to slow down even more in the end, I expect to taper at least until the end of this year, probably longer. I hope that your wave will settle soon and that you will find yourself on a better baseline! March 23Mar 23 Author Hey @Fullhealing Thanks for dropping by. No I’m not tapering, I had an adverse reaction to a handful of antidepressants tablets, the “medical professionals” treated me with 6 weeks of Diazepam and I came out the other end so much worse! Im ok though, thank you for asking. I still have my baseline symptoms which fluctuate but the waves are generally less intense and shorter in duration these days. On a good day I’d say I feel about 70% recovered which is a huge step forwards considering I was practically housebound 12 months ago so I can’t complain, I’m grateful for where I am now, all things considered. March 25Mar 25 Author Hey @Beehive Yep, it’s been brutal to be honest. Plenty of people here have endured a similar experience unfortunately. We’ll all get through this eventually, I think most of us will come out of it stronger and more compassionate too. I still visit Portsmouth though as my son is down there. 🙂 March 2024 Mirtazapine 15mg x 4 doses. Adverse reaction. 3 day break. March 2024 Sertraline 50mg x 7 doses. Adverse reaction. May 7May 7 Author Hey @Its-me-Rosie Thanks for stopping by. I’m ok thanks. I’ve been hobbling around for a while with a herniated disc in my back, it’s an old injury that comes back every now and then. This coincided with another wave unfortunately, oh the joys of PW! Overall I don’t feel like I’m moving forwards too much, my baseline is still tinnitus, ruminating, a mild burning sensation on my back and thighs, tremors and involuntary twitching in my hand. I’m sleeping around 5 hours most night, not tonight though, hence the reply at 2.45am!🙄. I’m approaching 20 months drug free and can’t really see an end to this but I’ll keep plodding on. Anyway, how are you doing? March 2024 Mirtazapine 15mg x 4 doses. Adverse reaction. 3 day break. March 2024 Sertraline 50mg x 7 doses. Adverse reaction. August and September 2024. May 15May 15 I’ve hurt my back too! It could be that the back pain isn’t helping the wave! But I know I’m late to reply to hopefully the wave has lifted.I sometimes feel like I’m not improving but wonder if I was back in time to a year ago if my perspective would be different. It’s hard to know as things all blur!I really hope you are out of your wave 💖 - Compazine injury following surgery used as an anti nausea drug Feb 2023, led to agitation and racing thoughts - tried to cope med free, advised to start Prozac May 2023 20mg - made me worse but was told to persevere, believe I had an adverse reaction. - decided to taper after 6 months of use at 20mg. Went down over 14/15 months to 1.5mg. - February 2025 came off 1.5mg due to feeling good and didn’t know this would lead to such strong WD
May 17May 17 Thanks for the update @NBJ71 ! I am with @Luke on this. People are having recovery progress many many months after crossing zero. It’s a crazy and unpredictable journey. May 18May 18 Hang in there Nick. 20 months drug free is an amazing achievement. It really is so frustrating how non-linear and unpredictable the healing journey is. You feel like you should be rewarded for that length of time but the body and nervous system do it their way on their timeline. Mirtazapine Recommended by doctor due to severe ear pain. Was on 30 mg from September 2021 to February 2022. Suffered severe bad reaction of akathisia with pacing and emotional deadness. Tapered from 30mg going down 7.5mg every 2 weeks until last 7.5mg tapered 2.5mg every 2 weeks. Yeah it was fast but I just had to get off this stuff. Completely off from April 2022. Feeling hugely better but still have weird feeling, muscle aches and tiredness.
