AAoffZ_2: Snail’s pace Sertraline taper post kindling

Hi @Johan1233 ! So nice of you to check in. I’m doing okay. I wish I could say my missed dose aftermath was short lived, but it was not. It took about 3-4 months to get back to anything that resembles baseline.

I still am not fully stabilized as I’m having brief waves every 1-2 week or so lasting about 1-2 days. But I’m getting there. It’s creeping toward normal. Started exercising again.

I just left a full week of being at my baseline and had a spike in symptoms last night due to something I ate I think. My nervous system is so incredibly sensitive.

Currently tapering Zoloft as a snail’s pace. View my SA page for the whole story.

I’m three weeks deep into this mess. Still having spikes of symptoms but my baseline is improving ever so slowly so that’s good.   Last night I was totally symptom free for about 6 hours, then

So happy you’ve found some relief! @AAoffZ_2 and the fact you’re exercising is amazing

Really scary what a missed dose can do!

Hope for an upward trajectory to stabilization, you’ve got this!

Well, folks. I wish I could say everything is going great. But after feeling quite stable for a few weeks, I decided to go to an amusement park for the day, and I’m fairly certain it’s thrown me back into hell. The day after the trip I had morning anxiety and then following that waking in panic all evening for two nights in a row now. No appetite. Panic attacks. It’s awful.

I was not stable enough to ride roller coasters and I’m kicking myself for not knowing better.

Any encouragement would be helpful.

@AAoffZ_2 ....Its unbelievable how our system is so sensitive that even doing things we used to enjoy becomes a nightmare after the enjoyment. I'm in the same boat as you. I was looking forward for a trip with my daughter last weekend. I was find until it hits me too. I was doing fine and the trip turned to be with anxiety and I even got one small nocturnal panic. I have had many car trips with family which I have enjoyed, but this one, my mind was scared being away from home.

Hang in there, your nervous system is healing and learning to cope with things you used to enjoy. It will all go away. I'm still feeling anxious, angry, etc....it will pass....

08/01/2009- Klonopin 1mg, but took only .25mg when needed, and end up taking every day for 3 years. 08/01/2012 - Paraxotine 20 mg

First tapering 07/01/2025 = 1.2% , 09/01/2025 - another 1.4%. 10/01/2025- 4.79mg (.0716g) holding until further notice........04/17/26 resumed taper 0714g (4.78mg). 05/20/2026- .0712g (4.76mg, .28% cut). 06/09/2026- .0708g (4.73mg .56% cut). 06/30/2026 - .0706g (4.72mg .33%). 07/28/2026 - .0700g (4.68mg, .85%).09/01/26 - .0698g (4.66mg, .29%).

Sorry to hear....we are just way to fragile to do anything but the ordinary routine unfortunately. Any environment, for me that is loud, lots of lights and activity is so stimulating.

Can you increase your vitamin C intake naturally...it might help your adrenal glands with the cortisol. ❤️🙏

@LostinCanada i don’t know how long my body can sustain this. I’m pacing—it’s like acute WD.

Can you do anything to relax...a bath, shower, stretches, fetal position, laying on your back with your legs up a wall, humming, hugging yourself, touching your skin, running your hands under cold water, one hand on your chest and one on your abdomen, deep breathe, etc

Keep reminding yourself that this can't hurt you...your CNS is stressed and will settle.

@AAoffZ_2 I am so sorry to read this. As Lic said, we are so sensitive. It is so tempting to get back to normal life, seems so unfair that we can't, we have to be so cautious unfortunately. Baby steps.

You will 100% get through this! Lot of time and patience, keep that nervous system as calm as possible. It's only temporary remember, symptoms can't hurt you even though they feel awful. Hope it passes really very soon for you. Better days will be coming xxx
