Hello  i want to microtaper 1 mg clonazepam can anyone guide

Can you tell us some more about your journey?

 

Is this the only psych med you have ever been on?

 

Can you update your signature on when you started taking it? Is it as simple as one drug at one dose for 2 months?

 I m on 1 mg clonazepam from 2.5 months and before that 0.25 mg for 4 months.its around 6 months of use and i want to taper it down

As you have been on this for some time I would taper this down in the normal way. 
 

Essentially we would recommend reducing no more than 10% of your previous dose per month and holding for 30 days between each reduction.

Have a look at the links I sent you. You’ll need a set of scales if you go for the dry cutting techniques. 
 

Weigh 5 tablets. Divide that weight by 5 to get the average weight of the pill. 
 

Then you can take 10% off that weight. The next drop you would take 10% off the last weight and so on, not 10% of the original. 
 

If you use our spreadsheet it will calculate the dose for each drop and the weight of pill for each drop. It’s good to have both so you know what actual dose you are at not just the weight of the pill. 
 

You can make a liquid alternatively. There are instructions in the links. Most dry cut to start and transition to liquid when the dose gets too small for the scales. 
 

Each time you cut, update your signature with the new dose.

Yes it does. Especially at your dose it makes sense to make your own solution.

Yes that’s fine. We are happy for you to be here and taper with us but as LIC has said there is benzo buddies if you wanted to go there. No problems either way. 😀

I m here only..how do milk taper is done any idea..

We just water or sometimes add in maple syrup.

I know some use a fruit juice to make a suspension. 

Do you have oral disintegrating tablets or normal ones?

If your pill doesn't dissolve and you need to use a suspension, I personally would want to use a clear liquid so I could see the powder is distributed equally when I shake it. Milk won't allow that.

@juvieriya I see you have an account at Benzobuddies. You are considering a way too fast taper. Benzos can be very dangerous to come off of too quickly. Seizures and akathasia can occur along with multiple other withdrawal symptoms. They really have a lot of experience on that site. I strongly suggest you apply their suggestions.

If Oraplus is not available, fruit juice can be used or you can make a suspension liquid like a simple sugar syrup or as mentioned maple syrup.

@juvieriya I can see in your bb thread they have said clonazepam isn’t soluble in water and is a bit so in milk. I think the idea of getting the solution they suggested is a good one. 
 

I suspect you will be able to cut to a point using scales if you want to do that at first, but you need to think about switching to a proper liquid at some point, as BBs suggested, to go lower. 
 

As you’ve not been on this drug that long you might tolerate a faster taper but no more than dropping every couple of weeks. I’d suggest you make your first 10% taper and see how you tolerate it. Give it a couple of weeks and then let us know how you are, and we can help with what to do next. Alternatively continue using your bb account as they are more experienced over there then we are with benzo specific tapers. You are of course welcome here and we will help. 

@juvieriya are you taking your dose split or all in one go each day? What time do you take it?

I m taking 0.5mg in morning and 0.5 mg in night..and using orally disintegrating tablets (ODT)

Perfect. That’s what is recommended. 
So your tablets are 0.5mg each?

 

If I was you I’d get a set of gem-20 scales and reduce the morning dose by to 0.375mg and leave the night dose at 0.5mg. Come back in a week or so and tell us how that goes.

 

I think you may be able to do this without going to liquid. Certainly can get quite far just weighing. 
 

When you have the scales pop back here and I’ll chat you through setting them up and using them.

I’m in the uk. Don’t worry. 
 

All scales can measure in grams.  We have to convert the mg of drug into the actual weight of pill you need. It’s easy. 
 

Weigh 10 pills and then tell us what that weighs on your scales in g? 5 pills is fine but 10 is more accurate. 

Make sure you check the scales each time you use them with the calibration weight provided. If it reads incorrectly you’ll need to recalibrate the scales.

If i take single pill and measure it and reduce its 10% ..i think all pills r same measurement also i m already have fear of handling so many pills together..thats part of my illness

They will all weigh different to each other 
 

It’s important when weighing to get an average weight of the pill. So you should weigh several at the start. After you have done this once, you won’t have to do it again. Just weigh 10 pills today and tell me the weight. We won’t do it again I promise. 😀

If it is easier weigh 5 pills and tell me that weight. :)

Ok so your tablets are 0.25mg and you take 2 at a time? Just weigh 10 whole tablets still. That is fine.
