Thank you @SparklingG and @Mars for your anxers, it's very kind. During the WD, did you feel always tailled ? Is it better now for this symptom?

Hi again..I'm still in WD...and I'm curious what you mean by feeling "tailled". I know english may not be your first language, so it could be a total mistranslation. LOL. But I want to understand.

Merci!!!

January 2001: klonopin, depakote, wellbutrin. Was experiencing overload from: getting married, selling my house, quitting my job, taking care of one grandmother as my other one died. All in the same year.  Asked Dr. for support and got called "mixed bi-polar" cuz I didn't have real bi polar symptoms.  AND I ACCEPTED THAT. UGH

Always felt sick on the meds so I would taper off. Then I would get EXTREME insomnia which I tolerated for several months before I would reinstate some combo. I've done this about 8 times. I'm extremely sensitive so I take really low doses. Still I feel sick.

Currently tapering off 1.4 mg paroxetine. Started at 20. Also on prasozin, 1 mg, Trileptal, 75, seroquel 50.

5/6/26 now on 2 mg paroxetine.

7/15/26 1.4 mg paroxetine

One year of a whole life, for only "feeling better" (not 100% restablissed), it's very hard... if these medication are so powerfull, why doctors don't tell this ? It's just criminality, nothing more.

Hi @poulette38, nice to meet you 🙂

I feel your doubt and frustration, I completely understand, but I recommend not spending too much time being angry at the doctors and psychiatrists. That won't help you feel better, unfortunately.

The best thing we can do is to try and live our lives and accept what we feel in the moment. Yes, this is very hard but it is possible.

I feel uncertain as well, especially now as I'm back in a wave, but when I see how many people have come out of this and shared their success story, then surely we must be able to come out of this too.

One step at a time.

Hello @poulette38, I stopped my medication 8 months ago after a taper period of 6 months.

I still experience the windows and waves pattern. Waves are still rough with anhedonia, aversion, avolition, fatigue, etc. Windows have improved over time but I still experience symptoms, just less than when I'm in a wave. Generally speaking, my windows also last longer than my waves.

Are you feeling a little better?

We have to ignore the symptoms, lol. I sleep a lot (most of the time without dreams, nightmares, or waking up, or if I wake up, I fall back asleep), yet I'm exhausted... it's very frustrating because I'd like to do a thousand things during the day, and I often don't end up doing much... my soul is definitely separate from my brain and body! Sometimes I get headaches during the day Bruises/painful spots to the touch (neuralgia) in certain areas of my head... 24h/24 electric tingling in my head and in certain parts of my body. But! I enjoy listening to music and doing certain things during the day.How are you those days? Are you able to work ?

@Niels91, I am also in hellish anhedonia caused by Paxil. I am tapering now .3 mg Mirtazipine. Have you experienced a decrease of the anhedonia after reaching 0?

2011-2023 Paxil

2023-2024 Effexor

Since February 2024 in anhedonia caused by the long use of AD

February 2024-March 2025 drug after drug after drug... 70 rTMS sessions, 8 ketamin infusions-nothing worked

March 2025 CT upon doctor "advice" from Desipramine, Viibryd, Lithium at high doses all together in 6 days

Since then awful withdrawal: unbearable anxiety, panic attacks, adrenaline rushes, hot flashes, muscle pain over all the body, insomnia, depression, intrusive thoughts, brain fog

Current tapering Mirtazapine : December 29,2025-3 mg, February,15, 2025-2,7 mg, February,28-2,5 mg, March,8-2 mg, March,14-1,5 mg, March,20-0 mg

@skamen Yes, the anhedonia is decreasing but it is very slow. Sometimes I find myself overthinking and wondering what the hell is going on? Am I missing something? What can I do to get better? It's frustrating and tiring since we all just want answers.

At less than a year taking 0 psychiatric drugs, there is a lot of precedent for further healing from anhedonia.

Nothing I say is medical advice, it is simply my opinion. I am an anonymous person on an internet forum with no relevant qualifications other than being badly harmed by a drug. For all you know, I could be an idiot. You are making your own decisions and part of that is deciding how much to listen to my opinion, if at all.

Perhaps you should consider this post an artistic work of fiction written for entertainment purposes.

Salut@Sophia

PS: I don't know if you are Christian or not but I'm and I pray the Lord every day. 🙏 today almost all the day everywhere I was, but other days, at least in the evening.

Hi everyone.

I have an appointment with a psychiatrist soon, for the first time. I'm scared.

Do I have an appointment with the devil again?
Can someone share their experience, please? How goes the first consultation?

I’d be careful. They don’t often understand drug harms and only see relapse. If you need to see one for a prescription that makes sense but I don’t think they have much to offer you besides this.

Probably yes. My colleagues are ignorant and even at the best of times only think in black and white terms and what the textbook tells them. Think very carefully about what your expectations are. If you expect help, support, understanding and a potential solution, you may need to radically adjust your expectations. The first question I would ask, before you let them interview you, is "How much knowledge do you have of antidepressant withdrawal syndromes?"

November 2024 Elvanse for ADHD. Anxiety and jaw clenching, stopped after 4 weeks. Felt fine.

January 2025 Medikinet XL

Made me depressed and suicidal so stopped after 3 weeks. Felt fine

March 2025 Concerta XL Made me depressed and suicidal so stopped after 2 weeks. Felt fine

April-May 2025 Amfexa and Methylphenidate instant release, both only worked for an hour so stopped.  Felt fine.

June 2025 Atomoxetine started slow taper. Immediate hot flushing and feeling sluggish.

July-September 2025 Tapered up to 70mg Atomoxetine. Constipation, insomnia, muscle spasms, weird thoughts, mood swings, night sweats, hot flushes, brain fog, dizziness etc

October 2025 rapid taper off Atomoxetine. I also had a GA for shoulder surgery the same week I finished meds.

Ongoing symptoms ever since, but now also trouble swallowing, difficulty passing urine, muscle twitches, depersonalisation, heavy limbs, emotional blunting, apathy, feeling "wired" and robotic, PGAD.

New symptoms February 2026: Nausea and burning head

Supplements: B12, folate and Vit D as all were bordering on deficient.

Bad reactions to CBD oil, Mag glycinate, Mag L.Threonate and Fish Oil

I go there mainly to get help with withdrawal, so your question is perfect, thank you.
I will not be led down paths that are not mine. It led me to this.
I am afraid of encountering yet another manipulator who will be brutal in his remarks or attitude ; given what they dare to prescribe to people, it wouldn’t surprise me that they are as violent as their pills.
I’m hesitating a lot. Afterwards, I had some response, but you all know as well as I do that we are still very fragile in withdrawal.

Anyway, if it scares me more than anything else, I won’t go back.
I have already learned a lot thanks to the old forum and this one. I go there to find scientific answers and knowledge, not to see myself labeled with a disorder that I don’t have.

When I think I heard one day ''psychiatrists are the most human doctors''... Oh yes, human with a whip? Human with an axe on people’s heads?
I still think that good psychiatrists must exist. But I also think there must be very few. So... is it Russian roulette starting again?

Another psychiatrist told me " fluoxetine withdrawal is 'mild'". We really don’t have the same definition of 'mild', as***e!
My life was sweet before your damn treatment, that’s for sure! 😡

I still think that good psychiatrists must exist

I try my best to be one. There are a few.

Bad reactions to CBD oil, Mag glycinate, Mag L.Threonate and Fish Oil

have already learned a lot thanks to the old forum and this one. I go there to find scientific answers and knowledge, not to see myself labeled with a disorder that I don’t have.

Glad sa and here have been useful. I suspect you’ll not get any answers from a psychologist all the science is on SA, at least what little there is. Most is lived experience. There hasn’t been any scientific research done in this field still really.

Glad you’re aware and will be vigilant when visiting them. Let us know what is said.
