Lovely to hear @Some0n3 we are both on the relatively good side today, yay! I had pretty awful days before so im very grateful for some relief, let's just hope it stretches as much as possible.

hoping that days like these can continue to come more frequently and eventually get even better!

Sorry to hear that you're struggling with these symptoms @Some0n3. Personally I've always gotten headaches/migraines once in a while, but in withdrawal I get them much more often and they come and go

I'm not sure, what I can say is that I've tried all of those things except melatonin and none of them did anything.

I would suggest, if you do want to introduce new things and try them, to add them individually rather than taking a combination of multiple substances all at once. This is what was recommended on SA.

Personally, I've found that supplements neither harm nor help me, but others seem to be quite sensitive.

thats good advice. thanks Luke! i also havent really noticed anything really worsening when taking melatonin, whey protein or vitamin d. although i havent taken vitamin d in quite a bit but i took it for a bit since i had my levels low. but i am afraid to introduce anything new as i really dont want to make things more unstable while still being in such a vulnerable state. maybe the melatonin is making me more tired in the morning but i was always really tired even when i wasnt in WD so it might either have to do with me personally or maybe just the ssri. it could also be a combination of all these factors but i might try what Chippy told me earlier which is lowering the melatonin dose a bit when i get a scale because itll be good practice for when i start tapering the ssri eventually considering that i dont think that accidentally messing the dose up a bit with the melatonin is going to mess me up as bad as it would with the ssri.

i wanted to ask a thing regarding shaved pills. how long do they usually last for / are good to take? could i get away with making a week's dose in the future or would i have to just make 1 pill at a time? also now that im almost at the 5 month mark of being on the 5mg. im wondering if i should start the taper soonish or not. i know that i was advised not to if my symptoms are bad but i just feel really uncertain whether or not ill improve any further while staying on this dose. im aware that the liquids dont last for long if i remember correctly but i wonder if the pills last any longer if cut etc.

To the best of my knowledge, there is no expiration date after the pill is cut/shaven, I usually prepare in advance for a week.

As for the reduction, if you are in a really bad place it may be worth waiting, although there is no absolute certainty, some will find relief if the reaction is more to the drug than to the reduction, but this can only be known in retrospect.

Hey @Some0n3

It’s fine to prepare your cut pills a week in advance. With a liquid I think it’s better to make each day but in the fridge for 3 days is likely fine. Certain drugs can be kept for longer as a liquid.

If you don’t feel at wd normal I would encourage you to hold here still. I know that must feel frustrating but holds can need to be quite long sometimes but it’s worth having the patience and waiting till you reach that point. You’ll know when the times right. You’ll body will let you know.

Your cut in Jan was 33% reduction. A bit hit for the system and your cns has had a lot to deal with this last few years with large dose changes and cts etc. Allow your system the time to get really settled down if I was you.

that is true about the retrospect thing. i was just wondering if the drug can become unstable if a cut section is exposed to air and whatnot. thank you for the response! im also not in the worst place but definitely not at a 1-3 in terms of symptoms. some symptoms are more at a more severe state than others to be honest. it is just very frustrating but i get that waiting might be the good option here. i think that i could start tapering if the brain fog wasnt so bad like it always is but alas it is still here like it just doesnt want to let go. it might be one of my only symptoms along with my visual snow that has stayed relatively the same during this whole reinstatement process which is annoying because it is also the worst one

I wanted to mention about a symptom that is more annoying than anything. It has to do with riding elevators. Whenever im done riding one and i step out, i occasionally get the sensation like my body is moving up and down, almost like bouncing. I wonder if this has to do with the wd or if its unrelated.

Sounds very vertigo like so I would say it sounds like WD to me!

hope everyone is doing as well as they can in their situations! this week has been a bit rougher for me as ive once again had a few days of headaches and nausea. i dont know if they are migraines or if its caused by the wd but i seem to have weeks where i have them more frequently and weeks where they are lesser. ive also felt way more out of it but ive still tried my best to get outside of the house when ive felt like it. i feel like my vision is getting worse even though i am wearing glasses but i wonder if my eyesight is just more blurry or if it truly is degrading. the visual snow surely doesnt help the fact though with everything being covered in grain and floaters along with afterimages. the brain fog and dpdr ontop of it really makes it hard to enjoy just looking at nature since it always makes me feel like im looking at everything through a dirty glass window. in any case, we keep going because that is the only thing that we really can do. its really weird just how much your brain can mess with your thoughts when you fall into despair. it feels like everything is always awful and has always been but when you get out of that state even a little, you start to see life for what it actually is and you get the feeling that there is hope for you. i always try to tell myself that these thoughts arent me when i feel really awful and that helps a little.

Sorry to hear that you're struggling with these symptoms @Some0n3. Personally I've always gotten headaches/migraines once in a while, but in withdrawal I get them much more often and they come and go in weird patterns. I've gone through periods of several days where I don't have any, or they're very mild, and then I'll get hit with a really bad one out of the blue. Or I'll have a few days where my head hurts constantly and then one afternoon it'll just totally disappear. It's all very strange. But I think it's fair to assume your headaches are caused by WD, and I hope they ease for you soon!

Thank you very much for the nice comment! He's been a good support! Unfortunately i am most likely going to have to give him to a new home as i developed allergies a few years ago and i dont really feel comfortable taking antihistamines currently. It sucks since ive had him for about 9 years but im getting tired of the constant coughing, sneezing etc

oh and i forgot to ask. i usually take the pill around 7pm but sometimes ive taken it 30 minutes to an hour earlier or 30 minutes to an hour later. should i be taking it exactly at 7pm everyday or does it matter if the times are not too far apart?

hope everyone is doing as well as they can in their situations! this week has been a bit rougher for me as ive once again had a few days of headaches and nausea. i dont know if they are migraines or if its caused by the wd but i seem to have weeks where i have them more frequently and weeks where they are lesser. ive also felt way more out of it but ive still tried my best to get outside of the house when ive felt like it. i feel like my vision is getting worse even though i am wearing glasses but i wonder if my eyesight is just more blurry or if it truly is degrading. the visual snow surely doesnt help the fact though with everything being covered in grain and floaters along with afterimages. the brain fog and dpdr ontop of it really makes it hard to enjoy just looking at nature since it always makes me feel like im looking at everything through a dirty glass window. in any case, we keep going because that is the only thing that we really can do. its really weird just how much your brain can mess with your thoughts when you fall into despair. it feels like everything is always awful and has always been but when you get out of that state even a little, you start to see life for what it actually is and you get the feeling that there is hope for you. i always try to tell myself that these thoughts arent me when i feel really awful and that helps a little.

@Some0n3 I'm sorry about the troubling symptoms although I can't say I'm surprised, these terrible chemicals don't spare any cells and it hits in all sorts of ways, I also experience atomic headaches at times along with all sorts of strange pains and sensations that come and go that never existed before this process so I'm pretty convinced it's wd related.

I definitely relate to the despair that rears its ugly head but it sounds like despite all the difficulty you have a strong spirit and are coping really well! keep holding on, things will get better with time.

It's better to be at the exact time, but a deviation of up to an hour shouldn't have an effect, in my opinion, i wouldn't worry about it if it happens at times.

You are doing great with the positive attitude @Some0n3 with the symptoms there is not much to do rather to endure them until they go away so well done for keeping you head high, it's not easy at all.

And thank you for the supportive words on my thread, I really appreciate it xx

thank you! yeah im also hoping that i can get him into a nice home where he can spend the rest of his years. id love a cat but my mom is allergic so that thought is going to have to be put on hold till i start living by myself. no idea if im allergic to cats but i wasnt when we had them many years ago. ive taken an antihistamine at times before without it really worsening things if i remember correctly although its been a good while. but i still dont really want to take my chances unless im having really bad allergies or something.

ive taken an antihistamine at times before without it really worsening things if i remember correctly although its been a good while. but i still dont really want to take my chances unless im having really bad allergies or something.

I don't have allergies myself so I can't really comment, but from what I've seen from other folks here antihistamines should definitely be avoided!

id love a cat but my mom is allergic so that thought is going to have to be put on hold till i start living by myself. no idea if im allergic to cats but i wasnt when we had them many years ago.

Cats are the best. Mine is sitting on the table beside my computer right now 😊 I'll keep my fingers crossed that you're not allergic and you can get a cat one day.

should i be worried about the risk of tardive akathisia while on the meds and after getting off of them? ive read a bit about it and it seems terrifying. honestly makes me really worried that what if when i get done with all this, its gonna slap me right in the face and then ill be back to hell. i dont want reassurance on the matter but if anybody has either opinions or experiences with this symptom, id be happy to hear them. i am not sure if ive ever had akathisia but the severe panic, anxiety and terror i felt for days in 2024 when taking the 10mgs of escitalopram right off the bat, when trying to reinstate the first time has left a big enough mark in my mind that honestly makes me scared of the future and the risk of developing something as horrible as akathisia, especially in its tardive form.

I know you said you don’t want reassurance but honestly it’s best to not worry about symptoms that you don’t have. Aka tends to be something only those with very dysfunctional nervous system get. Not everyone gets it. And if they do it can be mild. Best to focus on one day at a time. Staying stable. Don’t rush off and trust your body. No mileage in trying to control any of this let alone things that haven’t happened.
