May 22May 22 I've just had a quick read of your thread @Beehive , and wanted to say hello. I wish you a quick recovery from this current wave. Your posts are inspiring-you manage to post positive messages even though you are in the midst of this horror. So many of the things you say echo my own journey. I wish I had some magic tips to share, but 'going with it' and holding on to the knowledge that this isn't permanent seems to be the only solid truth. The way your mood shifted in a instant earlier in the week seems inexplicable, but I've had the same thing myself. It truly feels like something has shifted in the brain. Who knows what's going on with our neural networks?!Earlier you asked whether not distracting yourself and getting on with things is holding back your recovery. I've wondered the same thing, but sometimes you just can't -like the starter motor in a car has been disconnected, at least that's how I've felt. You can push yourself to some degree, but somethings are impossible. I find that the guilt of not getting on with things is in itself punishing. I really should be out there making the most of life...Anyway, I don't know if it's helpful to share these things, this is your thread, and I truly hope the sun comes out again for you soon. May 22May 22 I can function fairly normally as far as the outside world is concerned-as long as something is planned and I have to do it. I do some volunteering, and go to the gym, socialise a bit. If it's in the diary I usually do it (well, not always the gym...). It's the unplanned time when it all goes wrong, and just hanging out the washing, or a simple online admin task can take all day. Perhaps this is just an extreme, pathogical version of being retired, but it's more than that. There is an odd lack of motivation which is almost paralysis. I do know I don't feel any better for doing nothing, but it's the getting started that is so hard. That's probably why the diary thing is good, I don't like letting people down. (I realise I am very fortunate to be able to function like this). I hope the pattern of good day -bad day is not holding and that you have another good day today. The sun is shining which perhaps helps a bit. Citalopram 20mg 2016 (not completely sure about date).
