August 1Aug 1 Author @Chippy Thanks mate. Just to make sure I understood you correctly 😄 When you said “working hard is an understatement, but working hard on getting this right”, did you mean that you think my nervous system is working really hard trying to find its way back to stability, rather than actually being stuck? And that this process itself can make things feel so uncomfortable? In 2016 Paroxetine 20mg for 4 months then stopped more or less cold Started 10mg Escitalopram 4 Mar 2022 From 10 to 20mg on 19 Apr 2022 From 20 to 15mg on 23 Jun 2022 From 15mg to 7,5mg on 5 Sept 2022 (I was supposed to drop from 15mg to 12,5mg but I accidentally used 5mg and half of 5mg pills instead of 10mg and half of 5mg pills, when I found out 2 weeks later I decided to keep to 7,5mg since most of the WD symptoms subsided by then, I now regret this. August 2Aug 2 Author @Chippy Thanks mate. I really can't wait until I start feeling a bit more comfortable again. This constant uncomfortable/bleh / anxious feeling ( not really know how to explain the feeling) is really tough to deal with day after day. At the moment it puts a bit of a cloud over everything, even the things I would normally enjoy with my kids. I'm trying to accept it and just let my body do its thing instead of constantly trying to fix it, but man... it is hard sometimes! Hopefully things will start easing up again with time. August 2Aug 2 Author Thanks @Bernadette , that is good to hear. Last year it also took me a long time to stabilise before I was able to resume my taper. After that I had several good months where I could feel joy and like my normal self again, with some off days in between. Then in March this big wave hit after being ill for a long period, which is still ongoing, although I've had some really good windows along the way. This time it just seems to be taking even longer to stabilise and heal, which can be really frustrating and makes me doubt sometimes. But I know from my own experience and the sweet people over here that stability will return....!! But this phase is really hard. August 2Aug 2 Author @Bernadette , sure. What I meant is that I resumed my taper after the big wave early last year. I started tapering again from 4.5 mg in the summer and eventually reached 3.6 mg before getting ill. I've been holding at 3.6 mg since around December last year and I'm still at that dose now. During the taper itself I actually felt pretty good. For me it looks like as if things build up over time and then my body needs a longer period to make the adjustments and stabilise again. August 2Aug 2 Author Thanks @Bernadette What surprises and makes me doubt the most is how long it is taking me to stabilise again this time. I didn't expect it to take this long, especially after being quite stable for several months. Of course, I am getting into the lower dose range now, so I do wonder if that might be playing a role and whether my body simply needs more time to adjust at these lower doses. Either way, I'm definitely not going any lower until things have properly settled again. So holding is probably a good idea until your system settles. I found when I got down to 5mg of citalopram I had to take it slow. August 3Aug 3 Author @Chippy Thanks mate, that makes sense. I had already decided that I won't taper again until I've been properly stable for quite some time. I think the harder part for me is still taking the focus off when I will stabilise. When symptoms are strong, my mind keeps going back to that question. So maybe I need to take the whole timeline out of the equation for now and just try to focus on living my life while my system does its work in the background.... August 3Aug 3 @Sandnit , I agree with @Chippy on the aspect of not putting a timeline or exact date on next reduction. As you said just keep living your life in the moment and the body know when it stabilizes, you will get there. I've always reminded myself, the bigger the wave the bigger the window. In a wave Is when the most healing is being done.time is our friend and you my friend will get there Dec 23 Citalopram 15mg 13 March 24 13.5mg 27 March 24 10mg 12 March 24 7.5mg 20 March 24 6mg 10 Aug 24 5mg 24 Aug 24 4mg 2 Sept 24 3.5mg 11 Sept 24 3mg 19 Sept 24 2.5mg 26 Sept 24 2mg 5 Oct 24 1.5mg 12 Oct 24 1mg 17 Oct 24 Jumped off.

August 4Aug 4 Author Another pretty intense wave day today @Chippy @Bernadette @Fullhealing . I mentioned before that the overwhelming anxiety/fear generally seems less intense than it used to be, which actually felt like progress. But unfortunately I've had a couple of pretty strong anxiety spikes again today on top of that constant uncomfortable "blah" feeling. I immediately catch myself thinking, "damn, I thought I was past these spikes." Trying not to read too much into it though. Just allowing it, not pulling at it and carrying on with my day. But it is hard atmI'm sorry for the anxiety raging again @Sandnit unfortunately the process is a revolving door of symptoms, some will disappear or weaken significantly only to return at a some point, it's tough I know but in the midst of all this progress and healing occurs. The only thing that can be done as you wisely wrote, is not to read too much into it, and to carry on.You got it my friend, keep on 👊 1998 forced on cipramil *no anxiety/depression background*Over the years all kinds of SSRI/SNRI/antipsychotics/stabilizers due to apparently side effects/withdrawalMany attempts to quit over the years with failure (extremely rapid taper followed by doctors' guidens)Current attempt-Paxil 20 mg:6/24 20 mg to 5 mg-severe AKA9/24 Increase to 20-AKA continues10/24 stopped completely-AKA out of control 11/24 Zoloft bridge attempt-25 mg to 75 mg+Seroquel-AKA continued-stopped them CT.12/24 Back on Paxil 10mg (0.1789g)-some stabilization-from here tapered by about 30% each time (don't remember doses and dates).2025 - 7.10 0.0558g (3.11mg)/7.11 3% 0.0541g (3.02mg)/4.12 1% 0.0535g (2.98mg)2026 - 3.1 1.5% 0.0526g (2.93mg)/9.1 8.5% 0.0480g (2.68mg)/16.2 1.8% 0.0470g (2.62mg)/21.3 1% 0.466 (2.60mg)/23.4 2.2% 0.455g (2.54mg)/8.7 21.7% 0.0356.5g (2mg)/15.8 updose by 11.7% 0.0400g (2.23mg)Supplements:Magnesium Glycinate - started 28.5.26 1 capsule 200mg in the morning - Increased brain fog and muscle stiffness - stopped after two weeks.Iron - liquid, quarter of recommended dose - increased anxiety and burning sensation - stopped after two weeks.Saffron - started 8.7.26 1 capsule 30mg in the morning - pretty immediate improvement in terms of terror, body pain and sleep.
August 4Aug 4 Author Thanks my friend! @Fullhealing That revolving door description really makes sense. It seems like every time the symptoms come around again, each round feels slightly different somehow. Some things seem less intense, while others suddenly pop back up again, which can really mess with your head and make you question the progress. So yes, I'm trying not to read too much into every change and just allow it and carry on ...but that is really hard at the moment.... Hopefully this revolving door decides to throw me straight into a nice window for a while soon;)! Better days will come!!
