  • Thanks bud. Ups and downs.    Slept ok. 5 hours straight then another choppy 1.5-2. Feel rested. Heads burning again.    Yesterday felt tired all day. No burning brain. There’s a pattern

@Luke, although less visable than me at times, is right there with me everyday. We talk all the time about the site and are constantly making decisions together, dream team as far as Im concerned.

I agree! Enjoy the summer-window! Can you go swimming? If I’m able to go, I can feel that it somehow does me good every time. I have read about people doing cold plunges for withdrawal symptoms. To me

My hope would be that in time, you will be posting a success story here.

I believe that you will.

Nothing I say is medical advice, it is simply my opinion. I am an anonymous person on an internet forum with no relevant qualifications other than being badly harmed by a drug. Thanks for both of you keeping track of everything here and…please pace yourselves. I’m not sure if you’re working or you family situations/responsibilities.

Truth be told, I’m not sure how to handle both sites yet. It won’t be problem in about a little over a month. I’m on BB too because I hadn’t heard of this site until HopeP told me about it being in the works—then I found the post— I much prefer here.

Ah it’s great you’ve come over. Nice to see familiar user names popping up!

I’m ok. I can juggle all my responsibilities easily. I’m pretty busy looking after the family in the day and I earn some money from home too so easy to tack on some forum responsibilities whilst I do my other day to day tasks. I like being busy and always have done. But now I like the distraction from the wds.

Yeah it’s a juggle two sites! But as you said a few weeks just the one so easier in that way although I’m sad to see Sa go. Had no intention getting involved in running a forum. But it’s what needs to be done. It was lovely of BBs to extend a welcome to us over there. For me I wanted a home of our own and I hope that’s what this can evolve into. ? Feels good at the moment!

@Luke yes, you’ll be able to fill up the site with good content. One foot in front of the other. I don’t know how long you’ve been working on this site. But if it’s in the short time that we just found out about SA shutting down member posting and connection, then this is super work indeed! Not sure what you do for a living, maybe IT? Keep up the good work.

Yes 12 years old mine! They do that. Tbf mines a well good lad as I’m sure yours is too. Makes my life easy. My little best mate bless him.

I started the day after it was announced as shutting down.

By the end of that day, and plenty of trial and error, there was a working forum, but it then went through a fair bit of tweaking with a couple of test members before public release.

I have no background in IT and before SA shut down I knew the same amount about building and running an internet forum as everybody else, which was nothing.

Getting a forum online is actually easier than getting it working well and set up appropriately to meet everyone's needs. Of course, I'd rather have put 10% of this effort into helping to keep SA running, but that's impossible, supposedly. So, here we are.

My hope is that for the most part, this place will just tick over and run itself, with small amounts of input from myself, Chippy and hopefully some other moderators down the line.

That might seem a little naive, but really a lot of the support on other forums is provided by the community itself, I think trying to make a small group of moderators essentially be unpaid online therapists is a recipe for burning them out.

Hey @Chippy how's it going Bud, Hells bells what a morning I have had, worst one yet. 🤞I am lifting slightly now.

Well the groaning has stopped. Worse than when I first stopped, unbelievable really, it almost feels like withdrawal

has only just began. Madness. I will admit I was in one sorry state first thing. So yes I am hoping and praying that

today at least worst is over. But this is the hard part, a sleep reset, and tomorrow will be back to the same. OR worse.

SO, minute, hour and day I just keep gently plodding on.....Oh thanks for following Chippy, it's that that caught my eye.

Take care,      B.🤞

Hey B

Yeah kinda ok. Feeling the 'lower than normal sleep' a bit but glad Im regularly sleeping a kinda normal 5/6ish hours. On top of that just washed out. Felt like this for a few weeks now.

Hunger is through the roof for the first time in ages. Can't get it to settle. Just want to eat Chocolate and all the carbie bad things but Im resting. So far Ive had. Porridge with nuts and fruit with honey for breakfast with a nice oat drink. Glass of water and apple with the dishes. Carrots and Humous, a salad a Banana some more nuts and fruit and im now on another apple. It's not doing the job. Not sure where this has come from.

Still glued to the computer site building bits and sorting things. It's a bit busy. Getting there through need to slow it down and have some time for some other things eventually. But put the work in here now and then it will be easier later.

Im sorry bud. Im glad you are easing a bit now. I was really really hoping this would be the case. It's such a rollercoaster for all of us but you are having a particularly bad time the last few weeks. Wish we could know more about when it all ends but its just that waiting game as ever isn't it.

How could I not give the Legend B a follow!

Hopefully your mornings will stop being so awful soon. They will eventually.

Hi there @Chippy Well I got my shopping done, not too bad when I got going, BUT on the way home, almost

back, I put the toe down on the last little hill up to our close, and dashboard lit up with a multitude of lights.

Now it kept going bleeping at me, Engine management, brakes, anti roll, ABS, and probably more. DAM IT

that's the last bloody thing I needed, more expense I can do without. No home mechanic fix there. Damned

electrics. I am due up Carlisle on the 4th of Feb for the recall. So not good at the minute mate.

Oh mate this isn't good news! I wonder what this is! Can't be all of those things at once. Probably an electric glitch. Can't be low voltage as the engine was running unless the alternator is dodge! Just guessing now. Maybe a mobile chap to pop out and come see you. You are right. Electrics on a car these days too complex and you don't need the expense at the moment. when it rains it pours!

Thanks @Chippy yes I just googled if safe to drive to a garage with orange warning lights on and it says not.

Now I am in green flag, so I will ring Car clinic who replaced my cambelt, and see how they are fixed for time, then

ring green flag. I don't know any mobile mechanics in our area. Green flag will tow, but I don't think they will fix it.🤔

Stuff I could have done without.  Nothing really open now until Monday.

Yeah for sure. No Green flag will fix and get you on the road if they can but I suspect only minor things this sounds a bit more indepth. You never know though! At least they can tow it for you. Not sure 100% google is right but Im sure its right to play safe.

Thanks @Chippy good to have a second opinion. I looked in user manual, and I don't think it's undrivable

for a short distance, eg couple of miles or so. The main warning light is (STOP.)  this is for the obvious, low oil, low

water or overheating, and complete brake failure. I will run it past the mechanic on Monday if I am capable.

I come first, if recall has to be postponed again then so be it. Like you say Chippy, I could have done without it

but that's life. Motorbike MOT or to sell, before March is another thing on the wave mind. Under normal circumstances

it would have been no problem, but at the moment these are FAR from normal circumstances.

One way or another, it will get sorted.

I looked in user manual, and I don't think it's undrivable

I suspected this might be the case. Good you checked. 👍

I come first, if recall has to be postponed again then so be it. Like you say Chippy, I could have done without it

but that's life.

Yes it’s a familiar story mate. I’ve been up at 4am for a few weeks now. Used to get up 7am earliest most my life. Peaceful time of to day though. Wish we all slept a bit better though. We will in time.

Hi @Chippy So yes setting off with car yesterday I was a bag of wave nerves on a 1, and going through town

on a downhill stretch, I had the lunatic idea a stopping and testing the electric handbrake, once activated, normally

it's press accelerator and it releases. Didn't happen, panic mode, dragging rear wheels, some how my befuddled

brain got me to dab the bake swich down, and strewth.....relief.....the handbrake released.

What a hairbrained idea that was. BACK TO NORMAL NOW. So changing subject Chippy, how many Motorbikes have

you had? and what did you part with last? I have been having a recon up in my head and have had about 28 different ones.

So anyway, I have lifted to a 4 now and not feeling too bad, I hope you are lifting as well. I really need to get out of this

s***hole scenario and back into good paying work so I can the get motorbike number 29, the urge is still THERE!

Take care,      B.👍              PS......only about 22 different cars.

Um quite a few. I learned late. I was 30. Then had a big run of them until 2020. Son 10 years. Haven't ridden since. Used to comment alot so rode all the time. All weathers. Probably about a dozen bikes at a guess. Last one was an MT09. Snatchy old throttle but fun bike. Alot of sports bikes, naked bikes like CB1000R had a 2007 Bonnie. Yeah a good mix. Miss it.

Glad you are lifting. Not a great day for me today but I'll be ok. Head very sore.

Yes you do. And you WILL! Time mate. That flame never leaves. Once a biker always a biker!

Not sure on the car count. Been driving since I could so 17. Alot of cars and vans since then! Maybe not as many as you though!
