So sorry @EDP6893 very hard to bear the despair of withdrawal but benzos are a big risk let alone in a hyper sensitive system.

Our system knows how to recover well but I would give it a clean space to do the healing work properly, any chimical addition will most likely make things worse.

So has more kindling happened do you think?

Not necessarily... even if to some extent the system will be able to overcome it if you give it a clean option.

Stay strong, I know it's hell but we have to go through it to get to the other side.

Wishing you better days soon.

1998 forced on cipramil *no anxiety/depression background*

Over the years all kinds of SSRI/SNRI/antipsychotics/stabilizers due to apparently side effects/withdrawal

Many attempts to quit over the years with failure (extremely rapid taper followed by doctors' guidens)

Current attempt-Paxil 20 mg:

6/24 20 mg to 5 mg-severe AKA

9/24 Increase to 20-AKA continues

10/24 stopped completely-AKA out of control

11/24 Zoloft bridge attempt-25 mg to 75 mg+Seroquel-AKA continued-stopped them CT.

12/24 Back on Paxil 10mg (0.1789g)-some stabilization-from here tapered by about 30% each time (don't remember doses and dates).

I accidentally took a diazepam a few nights ago as I was having a panic attack, but now my fingers are twitching constantly, and I'm worried I am having more + days than before. Have I just given myself more kindling? Can I get kindling just from one tablet?

I feel like I'm never going to get better.

@EDP6893 it can happen since your system is sensitive. It will heal, but you need to try and avoid adding more pills to you system....it's a hard journey, but you will get out of it ..

08/01/2009- Klonopin 1mg, but took only .25mg when needed, and end up taking every day for 3 years. 08/01/2012 - Paraxotine 20 mg

12/2024- reinstated 5mg (.0740g)after cold turkey. First tapering 07/01/2025 = 1.2% , 09/01/2025 - another 1.4%. 10/01/2025- 4.79mg (.0716g) holding until further notice........04/17/26 resumed taper 0714g (4.78mg). 05/20/2026- .0712g (4.76mg, .28% cut). 06/09/2026- .0708g (4.73mg .56% cut). 06/30/2026 - .0706g (4.72mg .33%). 07/28/2026 - .0700g (4.68mg, .85%).

How long could it take? I feel like I'm about to have a whole week of worse symptoms. It's already been 4 days in a row of needing to go to the toilet every 20 mins. I haven't had it this bad in ages. So clearly I have regressed.

What medications are safe to take or change at the moment for me in protracted withdrawal and kindling? Would even a supplement like magnesium trigger me? Or would food trigger me?

Hey @EDP6893 I would advice not taking anything really other than good food. Fish oil and Magnesium are the only things we suggest you might want to try but they can effect some people, if you wanted to try either start very low and slow. Personally I don't take anything, just good food.

It seems that every time you introduce new medication, your body reacts. Your system is very sensitive at this point. I would just leave it and try to cope with the symptoms as much as you can. You have come out doing well all this time. It is frustrating and sometimes I even think about if I ever going to be healed. Totally frustrating, but we have to keep hope and focusing that others in worst situations have healed. It does take time and it's the frustrating part of this journey.

Hang in there and do not make any more changes. You are doing amazingly great. We have almost same time on this journey. I am 20 months and I'm still struggling. Most of the people I have read sucessful stories have struggled the first two years and half before seeing more improvement. I am not even two years on this journey yet.....crazy journey!!!!!!!

Eventually, we will be there....

Thanks. It feels like I'll never get better though. Is my nervous system permanently screwed? Is it always going to be over sensitive where it can't take anything?

I also still can't find any success stories like mine. It feels like if your withdrawal doesn't go away or get significantly better in 2 years then you're an outlier and it feels like you will never get better.

I get that "never going to get better" feeling in every wave. Then a window will come and my mindset switches. And back again. We do get better in time. I get 100% convinced when im bad.

2016 - Sertraline 50mg

I didnt know better and rarely took it consistently.

June 2024 - went down to 75mg

2026 - down to 25mg

April 2026 - hit by withdrawal and kindling

Reinstated April 2026 - 25mg

It is frustrating, but many stories out there seems to be taking longer than even three years....our system is so complex that it needs time to heal.

I haven't done cold turkey or reduce more percentage because I need to work.

My continuing main symptom is feeling hot, and burning sensation.....fear sensation somehow it's not every day. When I think it's gone, it's when it comes back..... crazy....we will get there. Maybe somewhere in the future, we can probably sit down and just pad ourselves for coming to the other side. Keep going forward my friend. We got this ...

You are not alone on this feeling. I get this too when on a wave. I had my first nine consecutive weeks feeling great after month 18 and now, I feel like I'm going backwards.....it's part of the process because we really don't know how our nervous system heals or why it takes long to heal ..

After I get heal, I promise myself to be gentle and definitely won't trust medication...this is how I feel...

Is it safe for my sensitive nervous system to have even tiny changes in my medications? Because I am about to run out of my omega 3 fish oil capsules, and the new omega 3 fish oil casules replacement ones have multi vitamins in them. I hope I will be ok and it doesn't cause any kindling, because I have no idea how to get the specific version I was using.

I mean you could but i wouldn't make it a big deal, still better to separate your omega 3 and multi vitamins, so you are able to take a different omega 3 dosage without changing your multi vitamins dose as well.

also does that mix mention how much epa/dha ? if not it could be just fish oil with minimal omega 3 content.

Current Supplements: Morning: Aloe Vera Gels. Night: 6mg melatonin and 133mg magnesium glycinate. Taking Omega 3 as needed to calm dyskinesia or over stimulation..

Current Medications: Mirtazapine, Lasea (lavender oil) before bed.

------------------------------------------

Tapering: Mirtazapine 15mg, (went compounded) 13.5mg 08/May/2025, 12.1mg 10/July/2025, 15/July/2025 15mg (half tablet), 26/July/2025 14.35mg (moved to dry cutting method) ), 03/Aug/2025 14.6mg, 24/Nov/2025 14.47mg, 29/Jan/2026 14.35mg

Note: Had a lot of issue with degradation with different cutting times and compounded pharmacy which caused withdrawals and a more sensitive nervous system.

I will suggest to try a small amount first before introducing new supplements.

I really cannot afford to trigger my nervous system again, but it's up in there air if I'll be able to find the old version.

I've been taking 'SEVEN SEAS Cod Liver Oil' supplements specifically.
