wouldn’t wish it upon my worst enemy. I’ve been through pain that I couldn’t even fathom was possible for the human body to experience.

What I don't understand is that I even had those crazy high palpitations like having a heart attack and the burning.   Long ago, on my first cold turkey before knowing about this, I went to ER, and all my test came excellent and that I did not have anything.  Yet, here I was burning and high and fast palpitations.

I'm glad I'm in a better position.  Yet, I'm not there.  I thought I was out until symptoms came back after being many days feeling between good and great....2 and half months now with old symptoms but not high rocket.....yet bad to knock me a little bit..

08/01/2009- Klonopin 1mg, but took only .25mg when needed, and end up taking every day for 3 years. 08/01/2012 - Paraxotine 20 mg

12/2024- reinstated 5mg (.0740g)after cold turkey. First tapering 07/01/2025 = 1.2% , 09/01/2025 - another 1.4%. 10/01/2025- 4.79mg (.0716g) holding until further notice........04/17/26 resumed taper 0714g (4.78mg). 05/20/2026- .0712g (4.76mg, .28% cut). 06/09/2026- .0708g (4.73mg .56% cut). 06/30/2026 - .0706g (4.72mg .33%). 07/28/2026 - .0700g (4.68mg, .85%).09/01/26 - .0698g (4.66mg, .29%).

Totally true.  What the medication is doing currently in my body is smoother ride...

My belief too which is why I tried to reach the finish line faster but definitely more than my body can handle.. I'm learning while moving.

I'm wondering the same thing, the crazy flare-ups of the last few days (Akathisia imo) are typical of the big cuts I've done in the past, so it's very surprising that it's also happening in the tiny cuts now.. Maybe I need to go even smaller like no more than 1% especially as I get closer to the end.

Hi @Fullhealing I just read your drug history and taper attempts. You've really been put through the wringer by the establishment. Your experiences sound both terrifying and excruciatingly psychologically and physically painful. My heart goes out to you. I'm also a victim of polypharmacy and struggling with low dosage, so thought I'd reach out and offer my best wishes for your healing journey 🤗

Update 7pm

Slept around 4 hours but considering I rested/slept most of the day yesterday it's fine.

I'm not sure if I'm out of the flare yet, I just know that hormones play a big role here.

In the last few months my period has become more and more irregular with no clear sigh of when it's coming, so I was quite surprised when I woke up in the morning with severe pain which could definitely explain the hell of the last few days.. I guess it's a combination, withdrawal and hormones, both are powerful in their own so combined it's really a different level of struggle.

Regardless I decided to reduce the amount and wait even longer between cuts and see how it goes, a certain level of suffering is probably inevitable but if it can be reduced even more I'm all for it.

I'm not really fully awake, I took a mild painkiller for my cramps and will try to go back to sleep.

For now, the body is less painful, the headaches/pressure have stopped, but the tinnitus is very loud, including the general feeling of being still very much on edge.

Short update 2:30pm

It seems the storm is starting to subside thank God!

Apart from typical period pains, other pains are over.

My mind is still in a flood but at least not a constant negative flood, which is great, grateful for these little moments that gives strength to continue.

I also managed to do some gardening and tidy up the house a bit, which is encouraging.

Weekend, no work pressure, I can just curl under the blanket doing nothing without feeling guilty.

We'll see what the rest of the day brings.

Excellent.....you are getting there and enjoy as much as you can....

I will continue to pray for you on your journey here. There have been such ups and downs for you. I know that periods can throw a wrench into the works. I hope it regulates more for you...it is a sign of the system being out of whack when it is irregular, perimenopause or the tapering might be too quick and causing the neuro-endocrine system to have issues (HPA axis). You can reach out to me personally if you'd like about the female health or further post here--I am sure other women will add their experiences. Glad that you did some things around the house. Follow your body's calling and take it easy if it needs you to do so. Be well, my friend.

Thank you @namastejen1 appreciate your wishes. Peri is a fairly new beast so I'm trying to navigate and figure out how to deal with it, before the "dark days" were very accurate so I had a clear indication of when Im a hormonal disaster and to prepare myself accordingly but now it's all over the place..

I asked my gynecologist recently about hrt but she wasn't in favor both because I'm a pretty heavy smoker and because she doesn't usually start treatment until menopause. she did suggest natural supplements but considering that even magnesium and fish oil cause me to spiral, it's on the aside list for now.

If I have any questions I'll contact you, thanks for suggesting it.

Update 9:00am

Not sure where I'm at now, internal battle is still very much alive, maybe a little quieter for now although it feels like any little thing can cause a serious flare-up. night went okay, not enough hours but it's fine, though my sleep is usually a "dirty" sleep I still manage to fall asleep quite easily so that's a plus.

I don't remember the last time I left the house for pleasure rather for really necessary things so maybe I'll try it today even for a short time, my mood is not there atm but with the food comes the appetite so..

We'll see how the day progresses, for now far from a hit but not a disaster either.

Body aches are completely gone except for the burning sensation that comes in waves so that good in a way.

Update 6:30am

Well, yesterday, brief physical flare-ups along with a very unfriendly mindset so I a house day, not out as I wished for however I managed to do a bit of gardening, small stuff around, all the trivial that are very untrivial in the process, small victories worth noting.

I've been up since 4 so the night didn't go well, thought about going back to sleep but my elderly dog decided to spot my bed again so that was out of the picture..

Not extremely stormy now but not a good place to be either, that's the norm for now I guess, the recent cuts didn't help, I should have waited for a significant improvement and good stability, lesson learned.

That's it, new day, hopefully as easy as possible for everyone.

@Fullhealing it has been stormy for you hasn’t. Hope things settle down more soon.

Youre right of course. A good reminder how important it is to taper when stable.

Update 7.30pm

Getting better, not that drastic but good enough to write hallelujah.

Body aches are almost completely gone, my mindset is more friendly and less self-critical as well.

Managed to work a few hours today without grilling with extreme restlessness, grateful for that.

Unfortunately my smoking has gotten so much worse in recent waves, I smoke like a chimney, awful, there is work to be done here but no worse timing than during withdrawal, tried it, didn't went well.. I will try to at least reduce the amount.

That's it for now, hopefully this positive moment will stretch into many, many more..
