At best, the meds blunt our feelings but do nothing to alleviate the underlying cause of our anxiety. Creating a toolbox of coping strategies is the best way to handle whatever symptoms may appear during WD. Anxiety loves the "what if" game. It finds your greatest fear and turns it into a future reality to keep you locked into an loop of anxious thinking. I was a member of two other community groups before this one and I can assure you nobody incurred permanent damage no matter how bad their situation was. It takes time and work, but you can recover. You've already taken the first step towards recover by joining this site. We're all here to help you get through it! The extra drug above and beyond your 20mg that you are taking won’t be doing much work. Every mg above this point has much much less effect on your brain. I think 20mg is more than enough to prop you up whilst you heal and rebalance. The shifting of doses causes kindling so your system is going to need to recover from that too. It’s not just about WD. I wish there was a set amount of time. Unfortunately there isn’t. You’ll need to hold where you are for a good few months to allow things to settle down. It won’t fix it all, but it will certainly help. You said in your pm to me, you have felt some of your symptoms improve already since ri. Like your sleep. Can take time for reinstatement to fully work too, especially with Prozac. Present in this moment. Not past mistakes, and regret. Or the future, and concerns over what may happen. Just deal with today, find some peace in that. Takes time to figure it all out. You’ll get there. We are here with you. I’m not a medical professional and cannot offer medical advice. I only offer my thoughts as support. Please speak to your health practitioner about your care. I did improve, I have a bit of a messed up background, 99.9% of people heal out eventually, I know it's hard to accept what you are going through, but eventually you are going to have to, to deal with this properly. Everytime you are going to desire something that is impossible right now, you are gonna suffer, cause you desire something that is impossible currently, desire is the killer of peace. It might help you to look into Buddhism or practice meditation, or something along those lines. Now it will take you some time to accept dealing with things, but eventually if you work on your mindset, you will accept it, you can live life even in withdrawal, I have hobbies and still occupy myself with stuff, It's not the end of the world, it's like another health condition. LIC was simply saying that these drugs have lots of bad side effects and generally aren’t good to be on. You didn’t have any issue up until now which is good. Others haven’t had this experience. However that is not something to worry about right now. You just need to focus on stabilising. If you want to stay on at this dose for a long time that is your choice.
