@Jacky Rose People (like me) usually only rant when they're in enormous waves. I definitely had times where I felt a little more normal than usual 3 or 4 months into withdrawal. I also seem to "remember" events when I was really going through withdrawal more fondly.

It might be more related to anhedonia. You may not enjoy looking forward to something, and you may not enjoy it in the moment. But you may end up enjoying it in the future when you look back at memories. There are a lot of memories I have like that where I wasn't fully in the moment, and I do have some regrets on that, but they were still really good times. Even now, some windows of joy do come back to me.

It's gonna be okay.

I worry im gonna take as long I did reaintate I need someone to tell im gonna be ok since I resintsted I won't be as long look at my timeline please im just really scared and need some comfort

Believe me, that's not the answer you or I want to hear. But, that's what it is. People in my thread have been talking about acceptance and I'm starting to think that's very important. We're all going through hell but at least we're together.

This is great advice, @Jacky Rose from someone who is going through it just like you.  It is hard to work on acceptance but that's the way through this journey.

Constantly seeking reassurance about the same thing is just a symptom of withdrawal and recovery.  It’s your anxious mind trying to keep you in constant fear. The problem is your anxious mind will never be satisfied no matter how many people tell you that you’ll recover.    You will recover but it will take time and it won’t be a steady uphill road.  There will be valleys and peaks.  The best way to handle it is by accepting what you’re going through and learning and practicing coping techniques.  It’s not the easy answer, but it’s honest.  You are not doomed to a lifetime of anxiety and negative thoughts.

Thank yoy I'll try it's just hard sometimes cause I cry so much from being scared about what happens next. On the bright side here's the good stuff

Side effects currently:

- stuff joints

- rare joint pain

- joint noisy

- heightened anxiety (crying spells)

- tummy trouble

- rapid movement on screens sometimes overwhelms me (also could bc the constant crying)

- sweat after sleep

- fast heart rate

Side effects that almost completely gone:

- brain zaps

- small brain fog (rare)

- leg tremors (vibration humming like in my legs)

- buggy eye episodes (where I can't focus really on anything)

And broken sleep is still sticking back together no longer 3 of 2 hour intervals and more

4 or 5 hours then 3 more in one night

Current Regimen:

  • 11:30 AM: Fluoxetine 20mg, Estradiol 8mg, Famotidine (Pepcid) 20mg

  • 11:00 PM: Guanfacine 5mg (long-term), Pregabalin 25mg

As Chippy said, you need to stop playing the "what if" games in your head. An important thing is to stop fighting--stop even trying to fight.  All that does is give the fearful thoughts more power.  Many years ago, a therapist named Claire Weeks developed the idea of "floating" past your obsessive thoughts.  You accept that they'll come and tell yourself to let them float into your mind and float right back out again.  Because that's all they are--thoughts. They have no more power than what you allow them to have. Try Googling her work.

The physical symptoms you're having are classic anxiety--your body is responding to your mind being in constant fight or flight mode and its tensing up, looking for danger that isn't there.  As you learn coping techniques, the symptoms will fade and eventually disappear.

Nobody with a sense of honesty will tell you how long it will take or make false promises. Don’t put yourself on an unreasonable timeline. If you broke your arm, you wouldn’t try weightlifting before it healed. Patience and acceptance are key. Worrying about the timeline will make it last longer and make the symptoms worse.

Ask yourself what you’re afraid of. The unknown? The future? You don’t know what’s going to happen 5 minutes from now, so worrying about what may happen three years from now is pointless. Fixating on an arbitrary timeline just increases your anxiety.

What’s driving your anxiety isn’t your symptoms or the future. You have a big ball of anxiety with nowhere for it to go. Right now it’s playing on your fears of endless symptoms because that’s where you’re most sensitive. That’s how it’s going to keep its control of your thoughts. Obsessing on those fears just makes the ruminations stronger. Accept the thoughts will come but just let them float through your mind. Don’t give them more power than they deserve.

You need to calm yourself physically before you feel better emotionally. Walk around your house and something in each room as you go through it. Burn the physical energy and your CNS will start to settle down.

You’ll be fine. This is all new and very scary for you. I understand. I had my first episode of high anxiety at about your age and it’s was unlike anything I’d ever experienced. But I got through it and so will you. Above all, be patient and kind with yourself. You’re safe and you have a whole community of people who’ve been through it to support you. Just take each moment as it comes and tomorrow will take care of itself.

So am I stablizing?

Certainly sounds like it.

I’m not a medical professional and cannot offer medical advice. I only offer my thoughts as support. Please speak to your health practitioner about your care. This is a peer site where we support each other on our taper/recovery journeys.
