This is common, you are not alone. There are many of us who do not do well taking these drugs, and have had reactions from the first pill. The most important thing to realise now, is that your nervous system is very upset, and destablised. The symptoms you are getting can often, and likey be misdiagnosed, as a worsening of your 'mental health' condition, so doctors wll try to address these symptoms with Benzos and other drugs. Unfortunately once sensitised, the nervous system reacts badly to other Psycoactive substances, it just makes it worse. It appears you have tried a number of different drugs recently. Im not sure what you are taking now. I would personally advice to not take another pill, and wait to recover, which you will. This can take some time, and happens in a non-linear up and down fashion we call Windows and Waves. The Windows and Waves Pattern of StabilizationI'm glad you found us, you are among friends here. Everyone here understands this only too well.In the mean time this is what I would do if I were you: -Stay Hydrated -Eat a good clean whole food diet, avoiding processed foods and sugars. -Stay away from caffeine, alcohol and antihistamines and any other psychoactive substances. Supplements are to be avoided initially, as they often irritate our nervous systems. Try to get your nutrition through food. Down the line, you may wish to introduce Fish Oil and Magnesium. Those who can tolerate them have found them calming to the nervous system. Be careful try one at a time and start low and see how you get on should you choose to try them. April 24Apr 24 Hey, I'm sorry to hear that you are having such a hard time.More on a mindset note, People do go through things like you do and go through them and then continue on with their life, you will turn out fine at the end. It's good to remember sometimes symptoms are just symptoms (to make the problem seem smaller instead of bigger), and they won't kill you, it's like the ups and downs of life,.It's best for you to accept your symptoms and not attach to them, just always remember, "I'm just sick, I'm doing the best I can, this is temporary", try to stay in a monk mindset, don't try to desire a million things and don't believe the symptoms and emotions that try to make you believe 'it's over', even tho it's very hard.I recommend you try and meditate at some point (I need to make a topic on breath and meditation), as well as look at the topics I'm gonna link below. I’m not a medical professional and cannot offer medical advice. I only offer my thoughts as support. Please speak to your health practitioner about your care. April 24Apr 24 @caitlinnathanie I'm a psychiatrist and I'm in protracted withdrawal, so I would like to think I have experience on both sides of prescription psychotropics. At best, taking benzodiazepines now will only temporarily help the anxiety you are feeling about your DPDR. It will not help your DPDR at all. This is because:NO medication has any evidence for benefitting dissociative symptoms (I tell my patients with trauma this frequently). Your DPDR is caused by a brain injury that you have unfortunately sustained from the Fluoxetine or Bupropion. No medications can heal nervous system damage. At worst, benzodiazepines will cause further damage to your brain now. As Chippy often says, it is like using gasoline to put out a fire. The good news is that brain injuries can heal. They heal themselves with time. You will not feel like this forever. It is still early days and this may be over quite quickly for you. I would not risk taking benzodiazepines as it can make things worse and potentially prolong your healing time. November 2024 Elvanse for ADHD. Anxiety and jaw clenching, stopped after 4 weeks. Felt fine. January 2025 Medikinet XL Made me depressed and suicidal so stopped after 3 weeks. Felt fine March 2025 Concerta XL Made me depressed and suicidal so stopped after 2 weeks. Felt fine April-May 2025 Amfexa and Methylphenidate instant release, both only worked for an hour so stopped. Felt fine. June 2025 Atomoxetine started slow taper. Immediate hot flushing and feeling sluggish. July-September 2025 Tapered up to 70mg Atomoxetine. Constipation, insomnia, muscle spasms, weird thoughts, mood swings, night sweats, hot flushes, brain fog, dizziness etc October 2025 rapid taper off Atomoxetine. I also had a GA for shoulder surgery the same week I finished meds. Ongoing symptoms ever since, but now also trouble swallowing, difficulty passing urine, muscle twitches, depersonalisation, heavy limbs, emotional blunting, apathy, feeling "wired" and robotic, PGAD. New symptoms February 2026: Nausea and burning head Supplements: B12, folate and Vit D as all were bordering on deficient. Bad reactions to CBD oil, Mag glycinate, Mag L.Threonate and Fish Oil

There are coping skills for symptoms like the guys are offering, but in terms of drugs, there just isn’t anything. The brains chemistry is very delicate and shouldn’t be messed with, that’s more true now it’s injured. It’s awful I know. But many many have been through this and you can get through it too! April 25Apr 25 Welcome to the forum.Looking at your signature, the use of drugs has been short term. Just to confirm- it is accurate that you have taken no more drugs for 2 months? The best thing you can do is to be drug-free and hope to improve in time. I know you're scared by people saying that it might be a long time, but that is a small minority of people.I have seen others improve a LOT over a few months from an adverse reaction to short term use if they stay drug free. Nothing I say is medical advice, it is simply my opinion. I am an anonymous person on an internet forum with no relevant qualifications other than being badly harmed by a drug. For all you know, I could be an idiot. You are making your own decisions and part of that is deciding how much to listen to my opinion, if at all. Perhaps you should consider this post an artistic work of fiction written for entertainment purposes.
