April 28Apr 28 I don't know what the psychiatric unit is like in the Netherlands, hopefully better than the u.s. If you have to go, and there is going to be a conversation on medication, perhaps bringing some evidence on protracted withdrawal could be helpful. There might be some substances that are less risky than others, but I am not informed on which ones. Please. i think an snri is not good thats why im asking what MAY help to break the ACUTE peak?I think that you're better off getting out of the mindset that there is a magic pill to fix this. You've been harmed by cycling through multiple drugs. From what you have said, none of them were tolerable for you.The hope would be, that after relatively short term use, that over time you will begin to improve as you get further and further away from the time you took them. Nothing I say is medical advice, it is simply my opinion. I am an anonymous person on an internet forum with no relevant qualifications other than being badly harmed by a drug. For all you know, I could be an idiot. You are making your own decisions and part of that is deciding how much to listen to my opinion, if at all. Perhaps you should consider this post an artistic work of fiction written for entertainment purposes. April 29Apr 29 @caitlinnathanie I am a psychiatrist. Ask your psychiatrist to show you the RESEARCH EVIDENCE that Duloxetine helps with DP/DR. Tell them you will be happy to take it IF they can give you some links to peer reviewed journals showing that this drug is effective for that condition. Also, tell them that the ISSTD (International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation) and the ESTSS (European Society for Traumatic Stress Studies) do not recommend medication for dissociative symptoms. They won't believe this is withdrawal, so don't try and win that argument. But you can win the argument if you focus on the DP/DR as a symptom. They won't be able to come up with ANY evidence to support prescribing for this symptom. And asking for evidence shows you have decision making capacity, so they can't force meds on you. Tell them you will report them to your country's medical board if they prescribe you any drug that doesn't have robust research evidence for your condition. Get assertive. November 2024 Elvanse for ADHD. Anxiety and jaw clenching, stopped after 4 weeks. Felt fine. January 2025 Medikinet XL Made me depressed and suicidal so stopped after 3 weeks. Felt fine March 2025 Concerta XL Made me depressed and suicidal so stopped after 2 weeks. Felt fine April-May 2025 Amfexa and Methylphenidate instant release, both only worked for an hour so stopped. Felt fine. June 2025 Atomoxetine started slow taper. Immediate hot flushing and feeling sluggish. July-September 2025 Tapered up to 70mg Atomoxetine. Constipation, insomnia, muscle spasms, weird thoughts, mood swings, night sweats, hot flushes, brain fog, dizziness etc October 2025 rapid taper off Atomoxetine. I also had a GA for shoulder surgery the same week I finished meds. Ongoing symptoms ever since, but now also trouble swallowing, difficulty passing urine, muscle twitches, depersonalisation, heavy limbs, emotional blunting, apathy, feeling "wired" and robotic, PGAD. New symptoms February 2026: Nausea and burning head Supplements: B12, folate and Vit D as all were bordering on deficient. Bad reactions to CBD oil, Mag glycinate, Mag L.Threonate and Fish Oil

Oxazepam 3 days for adrenaline quetiapine 1 day - made me feel bad so i only took it once. lorazepam 1 day - got panic bc of the feeling of sedatingStopped everything 2 months ago, now i have severe dpdr because i was so scared, had a week long panic attacks the whole day every day crying that im gonna die because of feeling of adrenaline and dpdr and I felt really bad. Went to the er a lot of times, healthy. Now I can not get out of bed because of severe dpdr, can not recognize myself at all and im every day more scared.
