Im so so sorry about your cat @caitlinnathanie grieving this process is beyond brutal, I know, I lost 3 and with all the difficulty I survived and so you will too.

Try watching some of the videos that were sent to you, force yourself to have small distractions and stay strong, another day passes and you survived, you can handle this!

Sending a comforting hug!

Yes you can with all the brutality of it @caitlinnathanie you prove it to yourself with every passing moment!

Put one of the videos in the background, you don't have to concentrate on it, it's absorbed by the mind anyway.

Keep pushing, it won't stay at this intensity all the time.

they can't force you to take meds, just tell them you have no suicidal thoughts and don't hear voices and hopefully you will be fine.

Girl I am so sorry you are suffering so much. Can’t you try to call down a little so you don’t have to go to the hospital. You are stronger than you think. You are in control of your behavior!! You can decide that even tho dpdr is really scary now, you will try to focus on something else outside your head. That’s the only way it can dissolve. If you keep feeding it with more fear and resistance it will stay and the symptom will not change..

Sorry don’t want to sound hard but you can take the control back!!

12 august 2025; 5mg fluoxetine

30 August 2025: 10mg fluoxetine

11 september 2025: 5mg fluoxetine

19 september 2025; 2.5mg fluoxetine

2 oktober 2025: 0mg

I had to cut my pills in half and quarters, so and don’t think I had accurate dosages.

If you managed to make it through a week, you will make it through more @caitlinnathanie you are stronger than you believe, don't give up and don't let anyone force you on more meds, these f drugs are what caused this in the first place so no way.

Keep being strong against wd mind and keep yourself busy, for seconds at a time, the mind will eventually get tired!

I am sorry.. keep trying!

Maybe make a to do list like:

10 min walk

Make lunch

Clean room

Etc. It gives you some sense of agency!! That you decide that doing things for your health are more important than obsessing and fearing the dpdr. It’s not something that changes immediately.. practice over and over again till your brain will feel “this is safe”..

Acceptance should come with distraction, a router in between, there is no other choice, I'm really sorry, I feel your pain, if you can't distract atm then let it be with the clear knowledge that it is temporary, it will NOT stay so strong.

i feel so bad bc u guys keep giving me tips but i cantt even stand up fromm my bed.. so i can not even clean or move im too affraid the symptoms are too strong

Maybe some proprioceptive stuff can help, from a neurological perspective it's about sending a sensory signal of safety/anchor through the brainstem. Anything heavy that can be placed on your body, like a sand bag or maybe weights on top of a pillow could work. Sleeping with a weighted blanket. Another exercise is pushing against a wall with your body, hands, arms or back.

July 2014-2016: Sertraline 25mg CT

May 2023 - June 2024: Sertraline 50 mg CT

July 2024 for 3 weeks: Abilify 5mg CT

August 2024: 1x Risperidon pill

August 2024 - December 2024: Escitalopram/Cipralex/Lexapro 5mg CT

January 2025 - 0mg

feel like a failure

You are not a failure...this is a reaction to something that was supposed to help you.

Do whatever you need to do to feel safe. If you are going to harm yourself, do not hesitate to go to the hospital or call a crisis line.

I am sorry you are struggling so horribly. ❤️🙏

Hi @caitlinnathanie, I’ve been offsite with lots going on that it’s been a challenge to be on here. But I wanted to chime in. And it’s nice to connect with you.

I can understand feeling overwhelmed. You have to take everything moment by moment. Focus on the very next thing you need to do and take slow deep breaths that fill your entire being from top to bottom. We often hold in so much tension, we are not breathing properly and our breath is our life force. Slowly shake out any tension. Use the weighted stuffed animal mentioned to ground yourself. A warmed neck/shoulder wrap on the adrenals is a good option too. Drink some nice tea. For now that’s enough.

I also have list of polyvagal exercises that when you feel a bit more present, you can use them to build more resilience in the nervous system. But I would first focus on what you are to do next and breathing. I’m sorry for your loss and that this is such a trying time for you. I pray for hope, courage, and strength for you.

Great that you're not alone, maybe play one of the videos in the background so that your dad can get some idea of what you're going through, it'll help you as well, your mind will absorb even if you can't concentrate on it.

Hang in there @caitlinnathanie it's a brutal phase that you'll survive.
