April 25Apr 25 Hi @caitlinnathanie . I am so very sorry for what you're are going through.I just wanted to let you know that every single word you have written has been written before by people in acute wd. And every single symptom can heal. Not that that makes it any less inhumane, but it means there is plenty of hope. Your exposure to medication was short, and you are only 2 months out.I don't think it is random that you are hitting rock bottom now, fluoxetine has a long half life and many people have an increase in side effects at this point. It also means the substance is out of your system, and your body can begin to heal organically. I know how useless nervous system interventions can feel, but I would try to go through some gentle exercises, try walking, moving, calling a loved one, or anything that could possibly make you feel 1 percent less in distress is worth pursuing. This will pass. But the thing is, you will heal regardless off your mindset. Healing happens to you. It isn’t something you can control.Learning skills like distraction and acceptance simply helps ease the suffering. It’s not something that can be done straight away, and is a continued practice. But the main thing here, is you will heal, and nothing you do or don’t do will stop that from happening. April 25Apr 25 Hey @caitlinnathanie ,I also took fluoxetine, for 3 weeks. Dp/dr was very intense during the first few months (I couldn't even recognize myself in the miror and others were "here without being here"...) They told you nonsense. Norfluoxetine (the active metabolite of the drug) has a half-life of 3 months! And either, the elimination of fluoxetine or norfluoxetine is not 100% but about 97%. Which means that a tiny part is still in the body. Its data can be found on Google. Knowing that this filth is still present, even in the smallest way, in our bodies makes me crazy! April 25Apr 25 Be careful with the term half-life. 5 half-lives are required for a quite complete elimination. In other words, if the half-life of norfluoxetine = 15 days, elimination will be in : 5×15 days, so in about 3 months. April 25Apr 25 Hey,Like Sophia, I'm Dutch too. I remember experiencing what you describe years back. Everything around you being incomprehensible, terrorizing, burning. All I did then was sleep and sit on the couch as still as possible, lost a lot of weight being unable to eat. A neighbour of mine has had it happen too, she's still recovering but doing better now.I noticed in the Dutch healthcare (GGZ) they are not really aware of these phenomena. My current psychiatrist isn't familiar, a couple years back they tried testing me for autism & psychose instead. If you want to DM feel free, hoping you recover soon. 2018 Dec.
