Ok that’s my bad, so what should I do now? I’ve been at this dose for over a month now

It is totally up to you, probably hold it. You should consider splitting it though. Perhaps move 1/2 of it an hour a day backwards carefully till you get to the new time.

How are you making your dose atm? Are you cutting a 0.5mg pill?

Ok, that wont be accurate enough. You should get a set of scales and weigh the dose before taking it.

Set of Gem-20 Scales, weigh 10 pills divide by 10 to get the average weight. Use that weight going forward to work your dose out.

If you split the dose and weighing that is hard as it is such a small amount you could switch to a liquid, you can make this with your pill ideally with Whole Milk, but you need to do a crossover first. I can talk you though it if needs be. But first you should get the scales and get this dose right before you split it.

As I said in the last post, if you to swap to a liquid you should do a cross over, probably best to not change anything that you don't have too. Stick to the pill and scales if you can manage it with that pill weight.

Yes I would hold and not move anything now for some time till your more stable.

I know, this is common to think this, but you are not. We have seen this so much!

I am sorry you had this happen to you, awful.

Best now to think of the day, not the past or the future, just one step at a time. Get that dose nice and accurate as I said with some scales and think abou then splitting it. Talk to us here about the steps before you do things. But order the scales now on amazon for delivery tomorrow, it is really important.

You can but they must use your current brand and don’t switch to the liquid version.

They will just crush up your pills and weigh some powder and put it into capsules for you. You can do that cheaper and they make mistakes and you can make sure it’s done right.

I’d get stable first and then deal with that one. There are a few factors to take into account when making that choice and it needs to be given some thought. It’s your choice ultimately but we can help you work it through.

Is stability feeling completely normal ?

Depends on how you define normal. Will you be the same as you were? No.

But then again, who you were was the person who started taking meds. What you can be is stronger and more resilient. You need to learn and practice coping methods so when your anxious mind tries to take over, you can let the thoughts come into your mind and float out again.

How does one gauge stability ?

We look to find wd normal. This is a personal base line of symptoms not zero symptoms. A suggestion to help inform you of what this might look like is to rate your symptoms out of 10. 10 being the worse you can imagine and 1 being mild. If you have a prolonged period of symptoms 1-3/10 we might suggest this is your baseline.

Try not to focus on the future. You can be much happier than you are now and tapering. One step at a time. In this journey we must work on our mindset and coping skills. Radically accept the situation we are in. Learn to focus on just the day. Find healthy distractions and a routine to guide us through each day. Eventually it becomes easier to put these skills into practice. You’ve got this!

@Chippy - you know what I was thinking about. I’ve actually never done a slow taper on any med that I’ve taken.

I keep thinking this is my life for the next 10 years - suffering. But I’ve never done a conservative cut.

The only thing that scares me is I was listening to Angie Peackock and she says people that have had many CT’s and reinstatements can’t tolerate a 10% cut and need to look closer to a 2/3% cut. Even starting at 1%

Don't worry about the future would be my advice. It is important skill in WD, and IMO in life, to be present in the moment. Worrying about the future and what may or may not be possible causes anxiety and unnecessary additional stress.

With your taper you will need to taper at a pace your body can handle. What that pace is, will depend on you. Often this is lower than 10%.

Hey @SpiroC — if it makes you feel any better at all, I’ll be right there with you on your long, slow taper. The way I’ve been thinking about it is if we can figure out how to taper slowly with minimal symptoms it doesn’t really matter how long it takes, right? I believe we can both get there 💜
