Just keeping an update in my log. Past days been feeling things are changing a little bit… I feel that the way of thinking is somehow changing, the way it processes external information is improving

  • @Healing_s my impression from your posts is that you're caught in a loop of over-analysing your symptoms and thoughts. You've been off of years of use of more than one drug for a few months, and off

That doesn't sound crazy at all. Heightened anxiety in the morning followed by a calmer evening is very common among those in WD. Personally, I think your brain is healing and is trying to sort your

I know, it's hard to fight being in this situation. You can't fight against human nature. You can show them my words, but it probably won't help.

Years ago I had been on SSRI (zoloft) for about one year. One day I was simply out my medication. I thought that everything will be ok. It wasn't. About 3 days later I experience for the first time - FOR THE FIRST TIME WHEN I WAS UNINTENTIONALLY OUT OF MY MEDICATION - one strange physical symptom. Over my head and into my hands I felt strong impulses felt like real electricity. zzzz zzzz zzzz zzzz At that time I didn't have any anxiety, it wasn't felt just physically weird. It was so scary that it let me to run into hospital. I got my drug, after taking them that electric sensations fade away immediately.

You have had that too, right?

Doctors nowadays do know that this is called brain-zaps and it's a symptom of discontinuation.

The point is that it's a physical symptom and has nothing to do with any kind mental issues or "diseases". If someone stared the drug because of depression and after quitting he/she get some strange physical symthoms it is not mental disease. it's something else.

@The Dust totally relate to that.

It’s like if it wasn’t enough what we are going through every day, others also need to judge and discredit us. It’s one of the hardest things.

Sorry to read @Healing_s We have al had this to some extent. Main thing is to stay in control of you healing journey and not let others interfere. We have to learn to not have conversations and waste energy on those who will never understand. Just don't let them push into something that will cause you further harm. xxx

@Chippy thank you for your support! I actually showed them the letter from Dr. Angie and they somehow came to a sense of understanding a little bit better.

Today I came to the office, even though I didn’t actually sleep well because my digestive system is causing me some trouble. I have never been allergic to anything or have any issues with food. But the digestive system is not working with me. I try to eat as many times as possible, things that don’t trigger the stomach.

Also, coming back to the office is feeling weird, it is something that I want but feels somehow like I’m awaking from some years asleep, and like if I’m a stranger in here. Somehow like if my nervous system is not liking to have me in here. Is this normal?

All sort of strange and alien feelings can hit it’s in wd. Unfortunately all of this is normal. I would have terrible bouts of dp/dr some days and feel very odd indeed! I would just sit with it and eventually it passed and stopped happening. We all get our own individual experience of wd but there are many common themes.

Do you think digestive enzymes deficiencies? I also thought about it because of my discomfort after eating, but my fecal alpha elastase is normal. It is released into gut lumen by pancreas and if you have enough of in your feces, then the pancreas is working properly. As I understand there is over-popularized internet explanation for discomfort after eating - low stomach acid. But if it was really that low, then pieces of meat would be seen in a stool. Discomfort is more likely caused by gastritis caused altered stomach motility or gases into small intestinal (SIBO).

Yeah altered mode is a good description. I know hod it goes, if I eat that kind of things I would probably pace after eating and spend my night in sweat and panic-like feeling. Conventionally grown citruses are real pain in the ass - horror move elixir.

Oh, I feel this way to. Everything becomes so fucking strange and weird. Like the world is locked up for me... But it's DP, right? I think it is somehow normal, if the body is staying in stressful mode, then it somehow become "shut-down".

Hey guys,

Guess not a good day to go to the office. I went on a loop of thoughts, and as always I come to feel that the fact that I am stuck right now it’s my fault, and not WD. I know I should just let this thought and not give him importance, but it’s glued to my mind.

It is most definitely not your fault. And you're not "stuck". Recovery comes in its own time and in its own way, but you can't give in to the feelings you'll never recover. It will come.

Healing definitely happens. I like to think of it as we become a new person, one stronger than before rather than return to the told person per sa. I know when you are in middle of this, it is hard to imagine it will ever change, but it will. We just need to keep taking it a day at a time, don't make things worse by adding in other drugs and unhealthy life choices, keep the stress as low as possible and believe in the bodies amazing ability to heal.

Hey @Healing_s just replying to this here for you x

"

Hey chippy I’m sorry contacting you through message as I know it’s not the objective.

I came to work today and i think work is a trigger now. I’ve been all day second guessing if this is really WD, or am I doing this to myself. Do you get these thoughts too? I thought I had it clear, but I really don’t know anymore. 😔"

When your nervous system is dysregulated, stress can trigger and worsen your symptoms. Unfortunately we often experience these symptoms through the eyes of our own mind so it can feel very real. It is very common to second guess if we are in WD or not, don't doubt yourself though, this is classic wd injury.

Hey guys thank you for the support!

I also would like to tell you that I think I understand know what happend with my sleep. I took the tryptophan for around 2 and half months, after the first symptoms of WD and stoped it on July 18th, because I combined it with another supplement for stress with rodiola, magnesium and eleuterococo. That was the first night I didn’t sleep at all and had to be eating all the time, because sleeping was a threat.

I stopped immediately all the supplements and stuff.

Now my dp/dr is quite better, manageable, sleeping is improving a little.

i didn’t have these tremors or the brain zaps or muscular tension so strong, in the first month of WD.

The sleeping and eating is improving after a week.

I hope I didn’t cause any more brain injury and I do believe that this was poisening!

@Healing_s I find it so interesting you mention the need to eat. I have found in my waves that the only thing that brings (VERY temporary) sleepiness is eating too! I wear a continuous glucose monitor and can actually see my blood sugar is way more wacky during these times. I do not have diabetes though so there is no way to deal with it other than wait it out. So wild.

I think we all go through this, trying supplements to see if things will get better, and end up making things worse. Good spot and good job stopping them. Glad it has helped. I would not worry about worsening yourself. Your body is amazing and will put things right. Just focus on coping skills and good healthy living and trust your system, it knows what it is doing.

In WD your nervous system is very sensitive and we can loop and over worry about things. You caught that the supplements were not working for you and stopped them. You have felt better as a result. That is good! How you feel now is all down to WD and you will heal over time.

@Chippy thank you for the reassurance. But I still think something is off. As I still feel that my head is quite swollen, and my body wakes up very pins and needles.

That is understandable, WD feels very off, and we often assume something else is wrong. And as I said our brains loop and obsess over things often as they are dysregulated. I believe it is a symptom in of itself.

It is perfectly reasonable to get some tests done and get checked out whilst in WD. However you need to be careful as the doctor may start to suggest this is a mental health issue and try and prescribe drugs to help.

Hi… just a small update!

Since last friday, I’ve been feeling a little better. The construction work on my head, as slowly reduced. I’ve been able to focus much more on the tasks i have in hands. my sleeping is improving and i have been sleeping around 7 to 8 hours… awaking around 4:30 but able to go back to sleep. Even the vibration is slowing down as i feel it more often when im in front of the computer, or when i want to relax and fall asleep. But both are manageable… at this moment. Ive been going to the beach every last weekend, to walk on the beach, get some sun, and every now and then i can take a dive in the cold waters of northen Portugal. I even had a moment this weekend that for a few hours I didn’t even think about WD, neither my mind related any thought on that way. I could actually day dream about some new tasks i want to do.

Mornings are a little more difficult…where i often feel more low mood or more confused. I noticied that regarding memory i often forget the name of different things or that i get lost when keeping up with conversation.

Today at work there were more moments when i felt like myself, focused, worrying only about the task in hands, but after some time it returns to the same worried disk of WD. But the moments are here.

I have always been a curious, passionate person about things, wanting to know the why and origin of things and this feeling was always felt with excitement… my DR might be also linked to this but with the inverse feeling, with this sense of stranger feeling, that somehow makes me alert. But I hope it goes away either… as it hasnt been as much as before.

Well I hope this means that we are indeed healing… step by step… slowly in time.
