  • Thanks bud. Ups and downs.    Slept ok. 5 hours straight then another choppy 1.5-2. Feel rested. Heads burning again.    Yesterday felt tired all day. No burning brain. There’s a pattern

I agree! Enjoy the summer-window! Can you go swimming? If I’m able to go, I can feel that it somehow does me good every time. I have read about people doing cold plunges for withdrawal symptoms. To me

It was ok. Bit windy but dry and partly sunny. 14km so not a bad distance. Part hills part woodlands. Pleasant. I’m Lucky where I live, we have some amazing countryside

Sounds so good, how nice that you have a beautiful place to wander!!

I miss the time when I was active, some days even lifting a finger is like climbing Everest..

Well, you gave me a motivation boost, if I keep improving, I'm definitely moving my b@$t out, activity is so important, thanks for that.

I actually lied when I said I was lucky. We moved here to be near the coast and hills. It is a beautiful part of the uk.

Yes when you can get outside and enjoy the world. It’s amazing when you can manage. I’ve had times when it’s not been possible for me, but I have been lucky in that I have been able to walk despite wd. It’s a big part of my life so thats been a blessing.

I am happy that you’re walking and able to enjoy the beautiful nature. Nature is very healing, that is for sure. Take good care of yourself, dear @Chippy, you are our hero ❤️😇. (together with @Luke of course). I hope and expect your healing to accelerate in the coming months with more sun, more warmth, and more hours outside. I once spent a long summer in England and it was raining most of the time, but this seemed to be a regional problem. At the sea, I’m sure the weather is changing much more. I loved the beautiful English gardens, the food (I admit : to my surprise) and the English tea…

@Nemina, earlier this week, we had a day where it was warm and sunny, and then heavy hailstones falling, and it alternated between the two about 7-8 times over the course of the day.

Nothing I say is medical advice, it is simply my opinion. I am an anonymous person on an internet forum with no relevant qualifications other than being badly harmed by a drug. Hi @Chippy, I just wanted to pop by here and say thanks for all you do. For the past while I've been desperately looking for peer support that looks exactly like this forum, and I'm so glad I've found it. Even though I've only been on here for a few days you can't imagine how helpful it's been.

I'm not sure what part of the UK you live in, but I visited over a decade ago and did a lot of hiking in the Scottish highlands and in the Lake District. I'm Canadian, but my ancestry is English and Scottish. I loved the hiking out there -- we have good hiking where I live too, but you run into far fewer sheep 😂 Really glad that you're still able to spend time in the hills through all this.

I’m not a medical professional and cannot offer medical advice. I am new to this journey and my thoughts are based only on my personal experience with psychiatric drugs. This is a peer site where we support each other on our taper/recovery journeys.

Current regimen:

Cymbalta - 90 mg/day

Seroquel - 12.5 mg/day

*holding to stabilize as of Apr 2026

History:

Seroquel - up to 50 mg as needed for sleep (generally 6.25-12.5 mg a few times a week, though sometimes more) - 2009 (ish) to present

Cymbalta - 60 mg/day, periodically down to 30 mg/day - May 2014 to May 2025

Clonazepam - up to 1 mg/day as needed - March to May 2025, quick taper off

Zoloft - 150 mg/day - May 2025 to Aug 2025 (quick cross-taper from Cymbalta)

Pristiq - 50 mg/day from Aug 2025 to mid-Oct 2025 (quick cross-taper from Zoloft); 100 mg/day from Oct 2025 to Dec 2025; back down to 50 mg/day from Dec 2025 to Jan 2026

Lyrica - 200 mg/day - Nov 2025 to Jan 2026 (quick taper off from mid-Jan to early Feb 2026 due to severe depressive symptoms)

Cymbalta - 60 mg/day - Jan - March 2026; up to 90 mg/day from March to present

Hey Sarah

Thanks for popping by 🙂

It is a pleasure. Im glad the forum is just what you were after. We know only too well, how important having a space like this is.

I used to live in the South East of the UK, but moved to the NE a few years ago. Love the hills and the beaches up here, so beautiful! It is cooler too, which we like, and more peaceful. More sheep in Northumberland than people! 😆

We are only about a hour from the Scottish Borders. We love Scotland alot, and did consider moving there at some point. We also love Lake District too. So cool! I agree the UK has amazing hiking.

I watch a few youtube channels about wild homesteading in Canada. Looks amazing. I can't believe how much snow you guys get! Or the bears! 😱

Haha, more sheep than people is wild 😆 Nice that you get good hiking and beaches where you are!

I'm on the east coast out here. Just like you we moved here to be somewhere a bit more quiet, and to have better access to natural spaces. I try to get out to walk by the ocean at least a couple times a week with one of our dogs (the older one prefers to spend her days sleeping on our bed 🙃).

It's a bit more temperate here than other parts of Canada, so we don't usually get quite as much snow (although we got a ton this winter, so what do I know!) And we only have black bears out this way, not big grizzlies like they have out west, or polar bears like they have up north. Black bears are the smallest ones -- I've never been face-to-face with one before, but they say they're easily scared off if you just yell really loud! 😅

I know it’s crazy. The uk is pretty densely populated but up here is so peaceful. I try to not tell everyone though. Don’t want them all coming here. Probably shouldn’t write that on a public forum should I! 🤣

Sounds nice. I need to get to the beach more often. Used to go alot. Normally head for the hills but I’m going to try to go some more. It’s only 15mm drive from here.

I don’t have a dog, but seeing them on the beach, pure joy! They do live it don’t they!

Sounds perfect. It’s a bit cooler here than the south which we like, but we get quite a bit of snow, relatively for the uk anyways.

Im glad we only have adders to worry about here. And they aren’t a problem really. Only seen one massive one since we moved. And only in the hills is it really a thing.

Don’t want them all coming here. Probably shouldn’t write that on a public forum should I! 🤣

That's what I say about the east coast out here too. Don't want everyone from the big cities in central Canada coming here!

I know, they really do know how to appreciate the moment. I'm often jealous of our pups and the way they just seem to feel their emotions when they need to, then shake it off and move on. And you're right, taking them to the beach or out to the woods you really get to witness true love of living.

Wow, I didn't know you had adders out there! Personally I'd take bears over snakes any day -- we only have little snakes out here, and nothing poisonous. I feel like a snake could sneak up on you way more easily than a bear 😅😂

Yeah, they are more scared of us! I’ve only seen the one as I said. Lots of small ones. And some dead ones. Often see people on the local walking groups post pictures though. I think it’s mainly the dogs that get bit. They go sniffing in the heather for them. My wife gets a bit worried about them, but honestly they are no bother. We even camp out (before wd) in the hills. Main time you see them, sunny days, they like to sunbath on a hot path or rock!

Sounds about right 😂 The problem for dogs out where I live is porcupines. We have tons of them and they're really slow, so dogs will sniff them out in the brush and get right up on top of them. Both of our pups have been quilled and required expensive vet visits to have the quills removed. I'd love to say they've learned their lesson, but they definitely haven't 😅
