July 7Jul 7 so sorry to hear you're still suffering @Sminismoni . I understand we're all different in how our symptoms present and how awful they can be but we're not alone. I hope you find stability and relief in the near future. I've had 2 episodes losing months which were horrific and they got worse before they got better. The important thing is stability eventually arrived. On a different topic I was thinking go you today. I was researching my dry eye remedies and came across Borage oil. It was a component in one of my treatments which was mainly omega 3s. I wanted an alternative to the omegas due their propensity for oxidation. When your eyes become a priority to might want to look into it.Hope you get some relief. 🤗 Link to SA Profile: https://www.survivingantidepressants.org/forums/topic/32414-catbird-introduction-a-long-and-winding-road/1996 Commenced on Sertraline 50 - 100mg. Have you read anything on how to taper supplements?Hi @Sminismoni I personally took vitamin D for a long time and stopped it abruptly with no issues. My blood work showed my D was right on the high level so that is why I stopped. As far as the B12 and B9, I just started taking it slowly recently but am experiencing issues so I am stopping it abruptly.I know some have had issues stopping magnesium specifically. Since you are concerned, you could reduce 25% for a week and see if there are any issues. Then repeat for 3 more weeks, monitoring any symptoms. As @Lighty mentioned, do one at a time.Hope that helps. ❤️🙏 I am not a medical professional. My comments are based on my personal experience and information on SA. July 10Jul 10 Hello @Sminismoni Alcohol limits the absorption of vitamins b12 and b9 (folic acid). It’s good that you stopped. Dietary supplements are not a substitute for a varied and balanced diet. Moreover, they are often full of chemical additives. For vitamin b12, have a good steak from time to time. For vitamin B9, green leafy vegetables and legumes. For both vitamin: the liver!Enjoy your meal! Regarding the stop, it does not seem relevant to gradually stop vitamin D. I didnt have problem to brutally stop last year. I would say the same for vitamins B but Im not 100% sure of it. Just my opinion. July 10Jul 10 Author Thanks for the advice @poulette38. Unfortunately I am so disabled currently and also cognitively impaired, I can't plan meals and I can't cook food consistently. About 3 days a week it is hard to stand up, find my way around my kitchen, even remembering what drawers certain utensils are in. It makes healthy eating very difficult as I am reliant on grocery delivery of mainly microwave food. November 2024 Elvanse for ADHD. Anxiety and jaw clenching, stopped after 4 weeks. Felt fine. July 10Jul 10 I’m so sorry for everything you’re going through. It is also very difficult for me to prepare meals. I was able to barely make a vegetable soup a few weeks ago, and it left me exhausted the next few hours. Most of the time, I also buy dishes already ready; I try to take them with as few additives as possible. I also order bistro dishes at the restaurant at my doorstep. It’s also very expensive to do that, so I’m doing my best to alternate a bit. Maybe you have a restaurant near your home that does deliveries? On top of that, I have no appetite. And believe me, I’m a big eater in normal times. (Without being obese because Im also very dynamic normally). It’s a real struggle to put food on my table; if I let myself go, I would starve. I also lost all notion of the hours, days, and months that passed. Today I was on leave and I ate lunch at 5:30 pm.Many people in wd have problems with their diet. I’m thinking of @siderale on SA who said she had lost a lot of weight: her doctor prescribed protein meals for her, otherwise, she said she ate a lot of "easy to eat" foods like rice, pasta...She regained her appetite over time and recovered all the weight she had lost.Just saw the post of @Lighty . He already gives you excellent advice! I also buy: peanuts, almonds, hazelnuts, chocolate bars, yogurt, milk, products like tarama or meat or fish terrines, that are easy to spread on bread, soups, cheeses... filling and easy-to-eat foods like bananas, avocados...Also everything that is "pleasantness" of dishes and makes them more nutritious, such as fresh cream in a glass jar (easy to add a tablespoon in a bowl of vegetable soup) or grated Gruyère cheese, easy to add to pasta, if one day that’s all you can eat ; Mozzarella to add to raw vegetable salads... As @Lighty mentioned, we are not able to feed like ministers. The body just needs a little of everything. I think that if we can do that, it’s already a lot!PS: In case of extreme fatigue, I buy cod liver (in cans). My grandmother always told me that pregnant women were given it in her time. It’s also excellent for the nervous system. And the micro-waves are to be thrown away! I saw a report about it on TV a long time ago: the waves pass through food and make it carcinogenic, which is all the more true for foods rich in water, like vegetables! So I invested in an oven.Besides, I found that the food came out with a different taste, after putting it in the microwave! Especially the vegetables, by the way! July 10Jul 10 Also biscuits, jams, honey...Cans of sardines or mackerel, rollmops, olives in jars, dried figs or dates. Théodore Monod lived in the desert and ate only a few dates with camel’s milk.Lot of garlic too, both raw and cooked! Fresh onions...and I always try to add spices when possible, especially pepper. 😀 I recommend adding it to meats or anything else just before eating, not while cooking, as heat alters its properties.Pepper is porous: it captures toxins from the body, and is then eliminated in the stool. It should preferably be taken organic because I also saw a report on the cultivation and trade of pepper, and the conventional is clearly bombarded with harmful (blue) products.Soon, a new topic to open "in the kitchen with @poulette38 "😂 . Or "how not to let your body starve while wd" 😑.
