March 25Mar 25 Hey @Tracey I know exactly how you feel, as a 54 years old man, when I was acute I needed reassurance every day. I’ve been through some arduous times in my life but nothing can prepare you for this, I found the acute stage genuinely frightening and I’m sure many others here would say the same. Considering you have no support at home you’re doing an amazing job! You say all you can do is look after yourself at the moment, that’s just fine, that’s all I was capable of too. Just focus on each day, everyday day is a step closer to where you need to be. As Chippy says, it may feel endless but it isn’t. This wave will break on the shore eventually and you’ll start to feel some relief. Brighter days are coming Tracey, just hang in there. Thinking of you. Nick March 2024 Mirtazapine 15mg x 4 doses. Adverse reaction. 3 day break. March 2024 Sertraline 50mg x 7 doses. Adverse reaction. August and September 2024. Diazepam 5mg x 3 daily for 6 weeks. These doses varied from 15 to 5mg daily until the last week where I was tapered from 10mg to 0 in 6 days. Zopiclone daily. I would say I was on 7.5mg for 3 weeks and 3.75mg for 4 weeks.
March 25Mar 25 Author Thank you @Chippy and @NBJ71, This really helps me. I need constant reassurance it seems as you did Nick. Nothing has prepared me for this, nothing could ever be as bad as this. I need a reprieve again, soon I hope. No positive, hopeful, peaceful feelings. Relentless. What is my brain doing ? Getting a few hours intermittent sleep. My life is hard as I am not functioning properly but I have responsibilities. I have to let my old horse go to heaven soon and my old dog is struggling. We are in drought here adding to stress as I am on tank water. Tracey 💚 I know exactly what you mean, sometimes it just seems like suffering with no redeeming meaning or value.P I watched a video recently from Angie Peacock that really encouraged me. What is my brain doing ? Getting a few hours intermittent sleep. My life is hard as I am not functioning properly but I have responsibilities. I have to let my old horse go to heaven soon and my old dog is struggling. We are in drought here adding to stress as I am on tank water. Too much stress which makes me wonder if stabilisation is possible. I can't change much and am just doing the basics which is still too much it seems. I need lots of reassurance . I am stronger than I think, have to keep clinging to this hope. Hey Tracey, I’m so very sorry to hear. It can take such a long time to stabilise. Your nervous system is very upset at the moment. This too shall pass. Nothing lasts forever. I hate for you these additional stressors. It’s so hard to add that all into the mix as well. My only advice would be to try and be as stoic as you can. You love your animals and that’s amazing. Maybe, if you can, celebrate their lifes and be happy in having had them in your life, rather than focusing on loosing them. You must look after yourself and not allow yourself to be too affected by them. I know. That sounds like a huge ask. And in wd too. It comes, for me back to that acceptance again. It’s the path to peace. With the water same again. One day at a time, give no thought to the future just today. You will be ok! I'm truly sorry for what you're going through, to add external pressures like caring and make hard choices with beloved animals among other things is so challenging, I feel for you strongly, I also had to let go of two beloved cats in this process.. so extremely tough, what comforts me a little is the knowing that they had the best loving life and now they are resting in a beautiful, safe place which we all be reunited at some point.
