Can’t believe this is happening to me . Did anyone cured from this kind of depression from WD? I start to think this is my own depression…maybe

I'm so sorry you're suffering so much @Saar8srl so many of us here have fallen into abysses we didn't think were possible so you're not alone.

it's terribly cruel, I know but remember it's not you, it's a symptom like a host of other symptoms that are bound to pass.

Hang in there, you're much stronger than you feel atm, you'll get through this.

1998 forced on cipramil *no anxiety/depression background*

Over the years all kinds of SSRI/SNRI/antipsychotics/stabilizers due to apparently side effects/withdrawal

Many attempts to quit over the years with failure (extremely rapid taper followed by doctors' guidens)

Current attempt-Paxil 20 mg:

6/24 20 mg to 5 mg-severe AKA

9/24 Increase to 20-AKA continues

10/24 stopped completely-AKA out of control

11/24 Zoloft bridge attempt-25 mg to 75 mg+Seroquel-AKA continued-stopped them CT.

12/24 Back on Paxil 10mg (0.1789g)-some stabilization-from here tapered by about 30% each time (don't remember doses and dates).

2025 - 7.10 0.0558g (3.11mg)/7.11 3% 0.0541g (3.02mg)/4.12 1% 0.0535g (2.98mg)

2026 - 3.1 1.5% 0.0526g (2.93mg)/9.1 8.5% 0.0480g (2.68mg)/16.2 1.8% 0.0470g (2.62mg)/21.3 1% 0.466 (2.60mg)/23.4 2.2% 0.455g (2.54mg)/8.7 21.7% 0.0356.5g (2mg)/15.8 updose by 11.7% 0.0400g (2.23mg)

Supplements:

Magnesium Glycinate - started 28.5.26 1 capsule 200mg in the morning - Increased brain fog and muscle stiffness - stopped after two weeks.

Iron - liquid, quarter of recommended dose - increased anxiety and burning sensation - stopped after two weeks.

Saffron - started 8.7.26 1 capsule 30mg in the morning - pretty immediate improvement in terms of terror, body pain and sleep.

Psychiatrist here. Sorry to say but this is simply not true and you are spreading misinformation. It is the same misinformation that drug companies use to market Bupropion - that it has "no withdrawal

I'm sorry @Saar8srl, I think we all have days where we feel hopeless and lost. I have not had a truly good day in about 10 months, and many days are still brutal. But we know that so many of those who

@Saar8srl absolutely people have recovered from severe depression induced by WD. This is still a pretty new forum so we don't have many folks here who have recovered yet, but you could check out the success stories section from Surviving Antidepressants: Success stories: Recovery from psychiatric drug withdrawal - Surviving Antidepressants.

You have described these feelings as unpredictable and worse than anything you've ever experienced. These are strong indications that this is WD, it is NOT you. You will recover.

I’m not a medical professional and cannot offer medical advice. I am new to this journey and my thoughts are based only on my personal experience with psychiatric drugs. This is a peer site where we support each other on our taper/recovery journeys.

I would like to know if someone is experiencing chemical depression during the day? Starting the morning and going to bed with it . The only thing I don’t have are physical problems and sleeping problems. But the depression is here since April and it’s very hard ….

01-2018 fluoxetine 10 mg two weeks

02-2019 started Sertraline 150 mg with 10 sometimes 5 mg oxazepam for sleep- my sleep was not ok after 150 mg but I felt good

01-August 2025 in one moth quit Sertraline because of the symptoms (getting fat, tired and starting to feel some sadness)

12-2025 quit oxazepam

04-2026 because of major brain zap middle of the night started 25mg one week, up to 50mg next week and get depressed and quit. This was way too soon and a high dose.

I also started oxazepam again

17-Mei 2026 started 10 mg 3 days and 5 mg 2 days in the hospital.

21-5 quit Sertraline

I felt better after 5 days and then crashed again

27-6 quit oxazepam

9-8 RI Zoloft 1mg

31-8 RI Zoloft 2mg

I always take magnesium and fish oil

@Saar8srl Some people have noticed something. In the evening, they feel better in general. You said that you go to bed with depression, but does everything become better somehow when "the lights are turned down (low)"?

@Saar8srl we are all different and I don’t think it’s necessarily helpful to look for someone with the exact same symptoms as you. But I can say that I often have this overwhelming feeling of negativity, unease and hopelessness, like there’s nothing good or positive in the world. On bad days like today I wake up in that state of mind and it often lasts right up until I go to bed. On better days it fades and some days it’s not there at all.

But regardless of whether you find someone like you, the evidence we have strongly suggests that you can and will get better in time.

I have both. You too? Can you go to work or do anything during the day? How long are you in this and do you have some relieve time to time ? No in the evening is the same.

2011-2023 Paxil

2023-2024 Effexor

Since February 2024 in anhedonia caused by the long use of AD

February 2024-March 2025 drug after drug after drug... 70 rTMS sessions, 8 ketamin infusions-nothing worked

March 2025 CT upon doctor "advice" from Desipramine, Viibryd, Lithium at high doses all together in 6 days

Since then awful withdrawal: unbearable anxiety, panic attacks, adrenaline rushes, hot flashes, muscle pain over all the body, insomnia, depression, intrusive thoughts, brain fog

Current tapering Mirtazapine : December 29,2025-3 mg, February,15, 2025-2,7 mg, February,28-2,5 mg, March,8-2 mg, March,14-1,5 mg, March,20-0 mg

@Saar8srl I can say that I can feel depressive because of being trapped into physical symthoms. These are making me exhausted. But still, I can say that I have felt blocked and being without physical energy since I started these drugs. I started "everything" in 2009 and halt everything in 2018, and after that more serious physical symthoms started appearing one after another. And, in general, everything is still there. I was on so many drugs for so many years because I was physically exhausted all the time trying to find out something. But the whole process was nothing but decline. So i can somehow name my state as "depression", but it's much related to physical issues. Maybe in my case everything was somehow related to digestive issues. These were present when I was on drugs and are still there. But, yes i can confirm that these drugs do some kind of shut-down effect when you are on and off.

I feel all the time that I have to force myself into doing something even years before feeling more physically healthy and painful-free. Of course, I can do nothing!

do you have some relieve time to time ?

I have/had. I had periods when I had will and power to walk on long distances, but this not even something that truly count, right? But I can't say I am sometimes better, I can say am just less bad. It's hard to talk about a window... In the evening I feel a little bit more calmed down.

We don't suggest starting a different drug to help with WD. You will note that the owner of the previous site says the same in a post on that thread too.

RI the orginal drug at a low dose is all that is advised.

It is normal in the early stages of WD to be looking for a 'fix', ultimately we must learn to accept our injury, decide if RI the same drug is worth attempting, then regardless of RI or not RI learn to cope each day as our systems heal and stablise. There are no short cuts to healing from WD, it is a very important lesson to learn.

Has anyone tried 1mg? And did it work for you?

From my experience with the current taper with 12.5mg as a bridge it went badly (full-strength akathisia) that along with other failed drug attempts.

I know it's terrible but I don't believe there's anything that can "fix" withdrawal other than time, to big of a risk in general let alone a hypersensitive system.

Maybe it's worth leaving it as an option only and letting time do its thing? just food for thought but whatever you decide wishing you luck.

Chippy has a good post here about reinstating: Reinstating an Antidepressant

Generally, we would recommend staying at your reinstatement dose for 7-14 days to see if you see any relief, and then if you wish you can (very slowly) increase a bit further, always holding for 7-14 days between each increase.

Reinstatement isn't a magic bullet -- even when it works, the intention isn't to fully take away your symptoms, it's mostly just to cushion things a bit so they're slightly more tolerable while you wait to stabilize.

Best of luck 💜

I’m not a medical professional and cannot offer medical advice. I am new to this journey and my thoughts are based only on my personal experience with psychiatric drugs. This is a peer site where we support each other on our taper/recovery journeys.

Current regimen:

Cymbalta - 90 mg/day

Seroquel - 12.5 mg/day

*holding to stabilize as of Apr 2026

History:

Seroquel - up to 50 mg as needed for sleep (generally 6.25-12.5 mg a few times a week, though sometimes more) - 2009 (ish) to present

Cymbalta - 60 mg/day, periodically down to 30 mg/day - May 2014 to May 2025

Clonazepam - up to 1 mg/day as needed - March to May 2025, quick taper off

Zoloft - 150 mg/day - May 2025 to Aug 2025 (quick cross-taper from Cymbalta)

Pristiq - 50 mg/day from Aug 2025 to mid-Oct 2025 (quick cross-taper from Zoloft); 100 mg/day from Oct 2025 to Dec 2025; back down to 50 mg/day from Dec 2025 to Jan 2026

Lyrica - 200 mg/day - Nov 2025 to Jan 2026 (quick taper off from mid-Jan to early Feb 2026 due to severe depressive symptoms)

Cymbalta - 60 mg/day - Jan - March 2026; up to 90 mg/day from March to present

Go slow with the Zoloft as it could be activiting, give yourself enough time to see how your system reacts, the goal is to find relief at the lowest possible dose.

In the meantime try your best to work on acceptance and patience.

It's a hard road and time truly is the best healer.

Much luck.

Thank you Sarah . Offcourse I’m scared to try but I used to feel better for a few days after the first RI in may. Unfortunately in the hospital they stopped it after 5 days. This is my last hope to start with the last RI on a very low dose.
