Hi, how long ago did you Ri? Didn’t you see any improvements?

I reinstated in April, but I did it too high. I went straight back onto 25mg and after 4 weeks up to 50, so it was a really rough ride while my brain was downregulating. I've seen a huge improvement these past few weeks, but it took about 13 weeks, and it doesn't always work for everyone. Everyone is so different.

But whatever happens, we're all here for you, and you're holding so strong <3

2016 - Sertraline 50mg

2016 - Sertraline 100mg.

I didnt know better and rarely took it consistently.

June 2024 - went down to 75mg

2025 - Down to 50mg

2026 - down to 25mg

April 2026 - hit by withdrawal and kindling

Reinstated April 2026 - 25mg

May 27th 2026 - Upped to 50mg

You’re so kind my friend, thank you so much . I can see that our drug use is almost the same. Not the amount of time but we both have been kindled and did ri. I hope eventually I find some relief but I do it very slow so it will cost some time.

@Saar8srl all of the evidence points to you being in WD/injured by your attempted high reinstatement in April. You will get better with time and patience. You're doing great by getting through the day and giving the RI time to work. 💜

It's hard to say I was off about 2 or 3 weeks.
It's hard to say because I didn't know any better and only took one when I felt WD symptoms which at the time were mild and I thought was the worst they could get. The gap between needing to take one got bigger and bigger so I thought I was winning lol but it was delayed and stacking, little did I know. Then it all just slammed me.

I had a lot of symptoms. I was bedridden for a few months say for the odd window day.
Yes I was very depressed and had strong SI - too strong.

Hold on, it gets better <3

@Saar8srl unfortunately psychiatrists really don't know anything about withdrawal and kindling. I think this is a very risky idea, especially since you've already struggled with RI at higher doses. The best thing to do is to give your current RI time and to trust that you can heal but that it will require a lot of patience.

This is a really, really hard journey and requires strength that many of us never had to draw on before. But I promise you can do it. All you have to do is keep going one day, hour, or even minute at a time.

I think you should wait a little bit longer. We generally say 7-14 days, and @Chippy suggested that you should wait at least 10. I know it’s hard to wait while you’re suffering this much.

If after 10 days you still feel like you want to increase a bit more, I’m not sure if you should go right up to 2 mg or maybe a little lower like 1.5. I’ll let Chippy and others chime in on that.

@Saar8srl Sarah is right, hang fire and get to 10 days. You want to be patient with RI, much better to be cautious then run into trouble.

I wouldn't personally go to 2mg, remember each mg at this low dose has an outsized effect on the brain. Low dose RI are seen to be all is needed in most cases, higher doses often cause issues. We can't be sure, it is just what we see. Give it a few more days and lets talk about the dose.

Since the RI are your windows in the day become more clear than before of just the same as before do you think? Not looking for good days just signs things are better than they were?

Assume you meant window here?

Ok so no change really. It is up to you, as you have not felt any worse and it has been 7 days now, perhaps you could try 2mg and see if this helps at all.

Compared to other drugs we have helped RI, Sertraline isn't as strong at lower doses, so 2 mg RO wise may not be a bad idea on reflection particularly as you have not noticed any improvement.

To confirm we can't know how you will react to an updose, just as with the RI, if things worsen significantly after taking I would drop back to 1mg but otherwise hold that dose, as before, for 7-14 days and let us know how you are. I would not keep increasing, and any further updoses I would suggest be smaller. Let us know what you choose to do.

Yes for sure, you would need to make up a solution in order to do this.

I could not quite understand what you have written here about the method you are using.

Can you confirm? Maybe a picture? There will be a quoted strength of the drug on the bottle, it will say mg/mL. It will also tell you how much one drop of the drug is in mg too.

Ok so at the moment you just take a drop and don’t use the syringe right?

We can make a solution using that syringe and some water to make up a dose that’s less than increments of 1mg. Not to worry atm as you can just take 2 drops but if you need to I can explain how.

it’s just so weird. One day I wake up and I’m positive and can do my stuff . I feel I can think clearly. The other day I wake up and feel nothing has a meaning and I think nothing ever is going to be ok. This change is not normal and I don’t think this has anything to do with classic depression…

01-2018 fluoxetine 10 mg two weeks

02-2019 started Sertraline 150 mg with 10 sometimes 5 mg oxazepam for sleep- my sleep was not ok after 150 mg but I felt good

01-August 2025 in one moth quit Sertraline because of the symptoms (getting fat, tired and starting to feel some sadness)

12-2025 quit oxazepam

04-2026 because of major brain zap middle of the night started 25mg one week, up to 50mg next week and get depressed and quit. This was way too soon and a high dose.

I also started oxazepam again

17-Mei 2026 started 10 mg 3 days and 5 mg 2 days in the hospital.

21-5 quit Sertraline

I felt better after 5 days and then crashed again

27-6 quit oxazepam

9-8 RI Zoloft 1mg

31-8 RI Zoloft 2mg

I always take magnesium and fish oil

It’s a good sign that you’re having windows @Saar8srl. This wave and window pattern is very typical of withdrawal, although extremely frustrating I know. It is absolutely not “classic depression,” it is a nervous system injury that will heal in time.

I’m not a medical professional and cannot offer medical advice. I am new to this journey and my thoughts are based only on my personal experience with psychiatric drugs. This is a peer site where we support each other on our taper/recovery journeys.

I know how you feel. I also have days where im fairly positive and then days where im just in this pit of depression. You just have to remember that when you feel that way, its a sort of fog in your head that doesnt allow you to think clearly but when it does lift, even if just a little, you notice that it all doesnt seem so hopeless. Its great if youre having windows and it is surely a sign that you are recovering.

Tomorrow it will be day 10 of my 1 mg Ri. Do I go higher and could this help me to get more stabilize ? I still have the windows and waves and I don’t know if I have to wait 4 more days or not . Does 1 mg ex actually do something ?
