September 26Sep 26 It's good to hear from you.I choose to be positive cause this is the way we can move forward and heal, it's easy to get down the despair rabbithole, i believe life is more than just the material aspect of it, if you believe you will heal and get better, you will continue do so more than if you give up, ths moment you give up, that's when your body is able to do less as well since your spirit is no longer fueling it, you can fuel your body with your spirit in some ways.I deal with dyskinesia/movement stuff and still find a reason to move forward.I hope the reinstatement helped you enough to the point it's more tolerable now, I know you will do what you have to do and I believe in you like I believe in anyone else here ❣️Much Love ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Edited September 26Sep 26 by Lighty I’m not a medical professional and cannot offer medical advice. September 27Sep 27 @NT1100B BBBBBBBBB! 😊 I’m so freeking happy to hear from you mate! 🫂I hate how you are suffering still it’s amazing that the reinstatement has helped though! What did you do mid August? Just go for 2mg? Did you start lower and work up?Ri isnt unfortunately a complete cure for the carnage that these drugs cause but a crutch. It can take sometime for things to settle after reinstating. We get windows and waves during that period. You have not been back on very long. Don’t feel the walls moving in mate. I don’t think this is tolerance. The drug isn’t making you sleep, it is answering the call from the brain for a drug it has become dependent on. Tolerance is the effect of the drug wearing off.You could increase your dose carefully and see if you react well to it. Just a little although at 2mg I think this may well be enough for you imho.Hang tight mate. I really think this is just a wave. It feels like you are going backwards. I don’t believe that. I think it’s just the body thrashing around for stability. ONE DAY AT A TIME! We are here for you. Always have been. Always will be. I am an anonymous person on an internet forum with no relevant qualifications other than being badly harmed by a drug. For all you know, I could be an idiot. Yes where do I start......WELL I am still alive, contemplated ending it tonight....but haven't the guts yet. Maybe it's not my time quite yet, feels like it though. SO I got to the point after 19 months off Mirt....I had two choices, END my life or reinstate??? I chose to reinstate, quite strange how I chose to continue living in a living hell, a life not worthy of living, even that one takes some working out. So yes, instant sleep again, 6- 8 hours immediate, BUT that's tailing off a bit. So I am on about 2mg of Mirt, did I do right? did I do wrong? who the F... knows with this ****. I am still alive....just, life is no more than survival still. HOW this **** is still given out is beyond me, humans being decimated and deceived into the worst mental torture, what only the sufferer understands, is incomprehensible. Motorbike GONE, car GONE...very little left keeping me alive, Mind and body as good as useless, what the **** have we ALL done to deserve this ****??????? People don't believe us.....even family eventually turn their backs, be a different matter if THEY were in it eh? So yes have I made a huge mistake? who knows 19 months and ready to end my life....maybe I should have....at lease I would have been at peace. But no our minds have been destroyed. I asked AI if taking Mirtazapine destroys the brain cells forever???? look it up yourselves, I was not encouraged by the answer. So I see you are ALL plodding on.....GOD be with you all, I recognise in a few, drug tolerance is a major factor. I think to a certain extent that it's happening with me now, still helping a bit with sleep and stomach, although that's wearing off a bit, BUT I became drug tolerant of Tramadol....so recognise the score of it, You CANNOT be in withdrawal when you are still taking it, unless you have dropped too fast. I saw an article about Metformin yesterday, from what I gather, it was introduced in 1957......yes? it's only just now it's been recognized as to HOW it actually works!!!!!! SO WHAT about ALL these ADs then?????????? Talk about being a guinea pig!!!!!! F**** sake. So yes what now? Well to be honest I haven't the answer, I just wish I had the guts to end it, because I sure as hell don't want 10 more years of this ****. Sorry if this sounds bad.....but I will ONLY tell the TRUTH as it IS. Whichever way I look at it, WE KNOW their is NO easy solution and it's going to take YEARS. There is a MINORITY hit HARD.....I am afraid I am one of those. STAY focussed, and DO what YOU have got to do.Sorry about NO good news. B.I'm So sorry Mr B , you've gone through this . My heart goes out to you. this is so unfair to you and all of us you just have to keep blobbing on .Thanks @cheeky your connection means a lot. I have never MISSED a day of being on here. Hovering in the background. SO yes I am back on as you know. I was at such a LOW LOW place after been OFF for 19 months. THAT was AFTER an 18 month taper off 7.5 mg!!!!!!!. So yes I am getting on in age now.....and so it was it end it!!!! OR go back on a small amount. 19 months of 4 hours and LESS sleep had brought me to this. SO....well as you have seen, my sleep is better than it was, and stomach issues better, but remember that's the drugs doing....not healing. I am just going to continue for now, I have raised it a bit....maybe 4.5 mg now and feel a bit better. But here's one for you, last week I took half a pill of Magnesium Glycinate, and for Christ's sake, sent me on a massive downer all week. So my brain is STILL mega sensitized. I know for a fact Mirtazapine is on a par with Paxil, both are unbelievably EVIL drugs, among the many others. But definitely top of the pile. So yes my philosophy was to get in a better place.......but now even me is thinking WHAT IF.....another month? another 6 month? a year or more? But hey it's done now, I am beyond middle age now and the way that it's hammered me, and lost me over £50000 in earnings, not a penny coming in since early March, I suppose I was at the end of my tether, and this along with the mind destroying drug was what brought me to where I am. So yes I have shunning DOCTORS, Dentists and Optician's, DOCTORS especially, WHAT the hell would THEY do??? even though I am SURE they REGOGNIZE it as I am signed off incapable of work until Jan 2027, SO they KNOW the score, but obviously don't know what to do. So Cheeky, it's plod on again for now.....if the drug does get me in a better place, then so be it. I am open to stay on it for life. Very strange but good thing, it's no longer making me hungry, brain changed obviously.SO you are still doing well Cheeky, you are slowly but SURELY getting lower and lower of the drugs, AND living a near normal life. VERY WELL done. Finding that balance cannot be easy, and I sure take my hat off to you for that. You know the horrors of going too fast, so if you just continue as you are, plodding along very slowly, I am SURE you will get to where you want to be. It will be Spring in Australia, so I hope the weather is already getting better for you. We had a scorcher this summer 48c I got on my thermometer in the sun. Keep plodding Cheeky B. 2001-2021 Prozac 20mg 2020-2021 Tramadol 300mg 2022 April 15th Started Mirtazapine 15mg 2022 Sept 15 dropped to 7.5mg 2023 May 16th failed CT reinstated. 2023 June 30th tapering off 2025 Jan 7th Stopped all drugs.

Then looking at side affects on the laptop.....no, nothing. Then feathering down, come across WITHDRAWALS.....EXACTLY fitted the bill.....but HOW? I have read about Mark Horowitz saying he had to increase before he could keep tapering. I believe many of us have a sweet spot with these drugs...for me it was 15 mg...I always felt better there but if course that wasn't a standard dose so I always trusted the doctor and increased I hope you find your sweet spot and it holds for you.16 minutes ago, NT1100B said:Now I did get one bit of good news today....hopefully after a call I got from DWP.....my sick pay will be reinstated, backdated to early March.Awesome...let's hope you are it for real. 17 minutes ago, NT1100B said:SO yes LIC, thanks for not classing me a failure, even though I very much feel that at many timesSometimes seeing others on the forum progress or taper fast than I can, etc...it can make us unfairly compare ourselves or feel we are in competition. Not all my enzymes are functioning as normal metabolizers. For example, if I were to take statins, I would more than likely end up with muscle injury or kidney failure. My dr wanted me on those but I told him, the paroxetine is causing the higher cholesterol. I am happy I said no and now on the lower paroxetine, my cholesterol is levelling out. Same, I can't take BP meds due to enzyme inactivity. So yes even the reasonable days are miles off normal, never higher than a 1.Sorry to hear B. It's good its not as severe as before, 100% a move in the right direction. The every other day symptom pattern is very common mate. I have had it, and Ive seen it mentioned many times. Windows and waves inside of windows and waves sometimes it feels like.Ive stopped logging my symptoms myself and now we only use the 1-10/10 symptom system, 10 being severe 1 being mild, so I have to reclaibrate my brain! So you are still pretty rough then mate. 1/10 not good. I was hoping you would be at least in the middle somewhere. Fingers crossed it will get better in time. The every other day fluctuations is interesting and gotta be a sign of the body trying to right things to a more normal state.13 hours ago, NT1100B said:So yes I can see why I RI, but.....yes a gamble.....if it does poop out on me, WELL obviously a slow taper off. Anyway yes I am obviously ona self trial and error period, we ALL know the score, but hell it is irritating when it's the WORST kind of torture know to mankind, andyears and years before you escape.RI is often a shot in the dark tbf, you put it off and really didn't want to I know, and I can understand why, as you said, left no choice. Try to not worry about it pooping out on you. One day at a time and all that. I think tolerance and poop out get a bit confused in the community. Tolerance is the drug not having an effect and more as your body gets used to it, happens with all drugs inc Caffine. That isn't something we need to worry about as it's WD that is causing you issues rather than the drug loosing its effectiveness. Poop out is where the body gets fed up with the drug and starts to have a paradoxical effect, kind of rejects the drug. Happens, much less frequently than is worried about. Mark H gets asked about tolerance a lot and he never references poop out when he is asked he only talks about drug tolerance. It gets confusing as we call it tolerance/poop out but to my mind they are different but perhaps related things. So if you see what I am saying, you got symptoms from stopping the drug, WD symptoms and putting the drug back has helped that. It's not really about Mirt being sedative although it might be for you atm who knows, but if that tolerance that builds over time stops that from happening in my eyes that is less of an issue as your bad sleep comes from the drug not being in your system (a drug the brain has build dependance on) and causing WD symptoms when it's removed, one of which is poor sleep.13 hours ago, NT1100B said:But anyway I will see how things go, zero chance of ever getting a job again, almost ready for the scrap heap. October 1Oct 1 Author 2 hours ago, Chippy said:You could have a great retirement, you certainly deserve it.Thanks @Chippy WELL that's not looking anywhere like it could have been. £50000 in earnings gone for a start. So if I was miraculously brought back to normal.....yes I could get by. But THAT'S the big one, No one is an expert, it's all guesswork.Even doctors have NOT got the answer.....they would be a lot MORE wealthy than they already are if they had that magicformula. SO yes let's look at it realistically....at best the RI works, and does eventually make living easier, and gets motivationback.I was in an ok state, apart from chronic insomnia, when I first took Mirt back in April 22, BUT I was in a way naive ,thinking of it as just a sleeping pill.Banging my head against the wall now for not researching it. So as you know, full time work then, got a new hip put in,and back to work, spring 2023 and just thought, right, I don't need Mirt anymore.....CT. Lasted a week, onto the laptop to see what's going on.....my heart sank. FFS what have I let myself in for?So yes, 18 month taper of 7.5mg.....Stopped....19months of recovery, Very bad at first after 2 week of it clearing out, 10months of waves and windows....windows meaning 12 hours if I was lucky, but not many. Then after November that yearand into 2026 is was constant wave, death warmed up until RI mid Aug this year. So yes we all know the timelines ofWD, and I know if it does poop out on me, well, I am NOT sure if I can go through THAT again.....over 3 years of living hell, and STILL be no nearer. So yes a LOT at the moment resting on RI. Was a last resort. So yes I will see how it goes, I have plenty pills to keep me going for a few years, at low dose. Just guesswork trial and error, but living like a hermit for the last 11 months, not a bit betteron that score yet. The way the summer turned out, I regretted selling my motorbike a bit....but zero £ coming in...so felt ithad to be done at the time. Anyway onwards we plod.....stay safe.
