It just shows how deep these drugs go...every cell in our body it affected.

@NT1100B I need you to promise me...no permanent decision for a temporary problem.... It would break me. I need you to win this fight.

If you need to go to the hospital, that's okay. Hopefully your next reprieve will come sooner. Have you thought anymore about reinstatement or something else?

Hi @LostinCanada Thanks immensely for your concern, I am overwhelmed. I am here again on a -0 at

2am after 3-4 hours broken sleep at my wits end. Crisis team? reinstate? I just don't know what to do, but

surviving like this is just becoming too much to continue putting up with.....

I sincerely hope you are doing better than me LIC, I just can't get over the fact that I am getting worse, rather

than better, it just doesn't make any sense to me. But I have seen the extreme cases of MIRT and they all end

up gone!!!!  I am hoping I am not heading for the same fate.

But I am NOT at that point yet, but I am going to have to get something changed to get in a better frame of mind.

Not sure what yet but hopefully I will get there. I was just trying to get more sleep, then (bam) the horrible feeling

is (ON) me, felt it so so many many times now....it's unmistakeable. UP out of bed it is.

Take great care LIC, please stay safe.      B.🙏🤞💙

Ignore others mate. They are NOT your destiny. The mind is powerful don’t let it think like this. Choose life. Time will heal this. Awful suffering in the process but it will get better. 👊💪🐌🐢🥷🤴

@NT1100B, you WILL win this fight. You are trying to do too much of this alone. Part of successful healing is to not be isolated too much. If you do call the crisis center, ask them for help, not necessarily more drugs if you don't want to reinstate.  If you do reinstate,  that's your choice too. Ask them to help you extend disability, that you have been worried about finances in not being able to work. Ask them to help you find a doctor familiar with withdrawals to speak with. Is there a friend or family member who could stay with you, or you could stay with them to get you through some of these rough months?

You were not only on Mirtazapine, but on Tramadol and many, many years on Prozac. It's not surprising with that length of time you were on these drugs that you will still have some hard times in WD still at 14 months. However, you have had recent glimpses again of yourself. Your body is healing. You have over a year of healing under your belt. This timeline truly is non linear. You are closer than it feels right now.

B, please stop searching horror stories.  This is not helping your nervous system, which will exemplify and magnify bad things 1000 percent. There are so many successes, please keep focusing on them. @Luke and @Chippy are turning some corners from their hellish Mirt journey, and you can too! I know it's hard. Please reset your coping strategy to not even peek at any horror story that will put your sensitive brain in a tailspin. I'm gonna have parrot watch you on this and send us a progress report!🦜🦜🦜🦜

Please rewatch successful videos and reread success stories. Strengthen some healing buddie connections where you can speak with them live on a more frequent basis, not just by email. I agree with @Its-me-Rosie about speaking with a withdrawal coach, even if it's one time. Speaking with someone live who has lived through it is very encouraging.

You know that we all love and care about you B. You have gone too far and have made some great strides. You are not a quitter. You are inspirational to so many!! You have so much to live for. There is a new bike out there for you to ride someday in beautiful countryside places. You will get your life back again better than ever, you truly will. Continued prayers your way for healing and some hopeful window glimpses to get you through soon! Stay warrior.🙏❤️‍🩹❤️💪🦜⚔️

Thanks @HopePerseveres2.0 Very much appreciated. You are a generous warm intelligent lady with a kind heart.💙

Thing is Hope, like you say my brain damaging days go back 24-25 years. This like you say will have some influence

on healing timescale. The problem is when in the wave I am in, I am severely grounded, so any therapy has to be

online. Hard to describe, but SOLITUDE is a MUST. It's just the way I am.

Was out in the country until 2013, living in town now. Now this when I am well, before this MIRTAZAPINE fiasco was

brilliant, everything on hand, shops, Doctor🤬, Dentist🤬, supermarket and anything else a doddle to get to.

BUT now with this PWD from hell, I would be more at ease way out in the middle of nowhere. Solitude.

But that's out of the question now, for a number of reasons, age a BIG one, remember, nothing hampers you more

than age. So yes I went for a walk this morning at 2.45am, I was in a horrible state, I had awoke at 1.50am on a -0 🤬

So I watched meditation on Youtube to no avail, tried sleeping again and the horror feeling struck. That was me up

and out of bed, 15 minutes on the laptop then out for my walk.

Now I got back about 3.30am and went back to bed, No more sleep, just in a horrific state until I got up again at 7.15am

Now it was a very horrible period, was exactly the same yesterday, but washed and dressed and up, back on the laptop,

nothing yet to eat, 8.55am now. I over the last 30minutes come around. The totally horrific repulsive feeling has gone.

Now this is ALL down to PWD and it's just going to take time, So YES I have my VERY low points, and the WAVE brain

does put us in a horrendous feeling and thinking state, it's controlling the thoughts, and NOTHING can move the head

away from that. I am still here Hope, and I am as STUBOURN as a mule, so the main one I have is second, minute, hour

and day. I admit I am having much worse waves now than EVER before, I just have to keep plodding.

Take great care H, wishing you all the very best,           B.  😺 🙏🤞💙

@NT1100B hi b Im so sorry your suffering, are you able to put a time to when this cortisol starts? If you do set an alarm and get up 15-30 minutes before this should calm the spike. Inoe your not sleeping a lot but if your able to get to sleep abit earlier try this if you can mate it has helped me massively. I don’t sleep through it anymore ive noticed it makes me worse. I also get it in the day if I try nap so I avoid that aswell. My cortisol is now a lot lower on blood tests from following this approach. I believe if you try challenge it it delays the settling of the cns. Hopefully over time with this approach it will allow the cortisol to settle and you will be able to sleep longer alone this has helped my mood aswell.

Hey @LostinCanada Thanks loads for your help, a true friend, God Bless. Yes I am going to text a guy I know

tonight about my car. I just have been in no fit state to chase it up. The guy has probably not even touched

it yet. The problem is it's immobile completely. No key recognition so NO go. So I can't move it either.

As you know though LIC my life is more important at the moment. Now I have lifted a bit today, maybe a 3.

Early morning I thought I was going to have to ring crisis🤔So that's a bit of improvement🤞 But it IS still on

my mind. I have all sorts of bits and bobs in that car. Kicking myself we didn't take it to the main dealer 40 miles

away.

Thanks for ALL that valuable information LIC, you are a treasure, I WANT MYSELF back, that's what I want, I

read a bit on Crazymeds, and hell the destruction these meds are causing is insane, it said 80 million prescriptions

a year in England alone. Crazy. So LIC I will digest what you have very kindly given me, and keep gently plodding.

Take great care LIC, and wishing you all the best.         B. 🙏🙏🤞💙❤️💙

Hey cheers @Richie Well thing is I am awake anywhere from midnight to 2am, NEVER sleep any later than that,

perhaps once on a VERY rare occasion. SO Cortisol at midnight?? Histamine with MIRT can be another.

Thanks for the GOOD advise Richie, my ears are open to ANYTHING that helps THIS S**T. I sincerely hope you

Hi folks so yes after a horrific early morning, when I seriously thought I would have to ring the Crisis

team, very gradually I came around. Stomach was horrendous as well, I have my DGL liquorice, which

didn't seem to help, eventually taking some ground Cumin mixed with water, I think that helped.

Anyway started lifting about 11am, so I have had a bit of welcome relief this afternoon, stomach griping

a bit now. So 🤞how tonight goes. BUT f***k me it has certainly been putting me through the WRINGER.

The torture chamber from hell.  SO onwards I plod, the slight relief renewing my RESOLVE.

Take care all,       B.🙏🙏🙏

Hey cheers @Richie Well thing is I am awake anywhere from midnight to 2am, NEVER sleep any later than that,

perhaps once on a VERY rare occasion. SO Cortisol at midnight?? Histamine with MIRT can be another.

Thanks for the GOOD advise Richie, my ears are open to ANYTHING that helps THIS S**T. I sincerely hope you

are doing better Bud, keep slow and gentle, wishing you all the best Bud.

Take care,       B.🙏🤞👍

when this all started for me my cortisol was at 8 in the morning it’s gone now but when I had it in the last couple of months it was hitting me between 10.30-11 i don’t know how it works but it’s something to do with the circadian rhythm. Might be worth getting a private blood pincher test online I think they are around 30 quid and test yourself around the time you wake up. Hoping for better days for you b

Mirtazapine for 3 weeks august 2025 15mg made me numb didn’t know why took an overdose of 10x 15mg tablets.

reinstated at 11 weeks due to symptoms and inpatient stay.

currently on 3.75mg mirtazapine

symptoms/ anhedonia, slightly blurred vision, tinnitus, toxic naps

depression, anxiety, pins and needles

Hello!

I used to work in a crisis team…for years…oh the irony!
if you need them, call them, although do not let them put you back on meds.  But they are nice folk you can talk to 24/7, just they may not understand this situation we find ourselves in sadly.

I wonder if it’s now time to consider something for sleep, try the Melatonin, it may really help you and if things are really really tough it really maybe is worth trying it??? Just a  thought, I know Angie Peacock says some of her clients need it and as far as meds go she’s open to it as it’s so less potent than others.

passion flower has also been used in benzo withdrawal trials to aid sleep,

I have been using it but stopped in November.  I use the Holland and Barrett ones. It defo helps you sleep! I used it a few times a week.

It may give a bit of hope to try something and get a few more hours but I don’t want to be a drug pusher! I know most people say not to try anything but passion flower did help me, if you google it there’s a study on it in benzo WD used to help with side effects. Not sure if anyone else has any views on this and I totally understand if people disagree!!

you are such a trooper and we are all here for you:

happy to share my number if you want to WhatsApp or voice chat. I love to annoy @Chippy  with long rambling voice notes!

thinking of you

xx

ps. I’m back in a wave, WD sucks!!!!

- Compazine injury following surgery used as an anti nausea drug Feb 2023, led to agitation and racing thoughts

- tried to cope med free, advised to start Prozac May 2023 20mg

- made me worse but was told to persevere, believe I had an adverse reaction.
- decided to taper after 6 months of use at 20mg. Went down over 14/15 months to 1.5mg.

- February 2025 came off 1.5mg due to feeling good and didn’t know this would lead to such strong WD

you are not one of those people.

you can do this, you’ve come this far and healing could be days away. You don’t know, so keep plodding my friend x

But I have seen the extreme cases of MIRT and they all end up gone!!!!  I am hoping I am not heading for the same fate.

I think it would be fair to state that I am one of those.

I am not fully recovered, but I am now clearly recovering all the time.

Nothing I say is medical advice, it is simply my opinion. I am an anonymous person on an internet forum with no relevant qualifications other than being badly harmed by a drug. For all you know, I could be an idiot. You are making your own decisions and part of that is deciding how much to listen to my opinion, if at all.

Story from SA: LukeUK: Remeron/Mirtazapine Severe Withdrawal - Introductions and updates - Surviving Antidepressants

15mg Remeron/Mirtazapine November starting 2022 (severe physical side effects)

Attempted to taper off January 2023, ended up having a major breakdown and going up to 30mg, took weeks to stabilise

1 month taper  to 0mg

Last dose April 2023

Severe withdrawal syndrome with many physical symptoms

Summary: 5 months using Mirtazapine, including 1 month taper ending late April 2023.

Mr. B, I just wanted to remind you that healing from withdrawal can be so unpredictable. Even when it feels like nothing is changing and the days seem to drag on, things really can shift when you least expect it. So many people have gone through long stretches where it felt endless, and then suddenly a window opens and things begin to ease. Please keep holding on and be gentle with yourself — you truly never know what might be just around the corner. I'm really rooting for you and hoping a better stretch finds you very soon.
love you my friend 🙏❤️🤴

On Paxil since 1995. Seroquel added 2014 after withdrawal crash. History of too-fast tapers/reinstatements.

21 April 2025 taper two drugs at once

Paxil 4% Seroquel 3.5% per month

that ended up being too much and changed to one drug at a time

13 Jul 2025: 4% Paxil cut

29 Jul 2025: 5% Paxil cut

6 Aug 2025: began hold

Oct 2025: changed from liquid to powder and accidentally took 10x Seroquel dose for 2 weeks by mistake

23 Oct 2025: returned to liquid with accidental 4.7% Seroquel cut

 Holding both drugs to stablize

Holding at Paxil 8.25 mg / Seroquel 6.5

Paxil taper

22/4 8.23  29/4 8.20  5/5 8.15 13/5 8.05  3/6 8 11/6 7.95

Hi B. I'm so glad you're still able to take care of yourself with bathing and eating. I've been to the place where I have no desire or simply can't take care of such simple things. I'm so glad you're able to care for yourself in that way.

Here's a video I found that might be of at least a little benefit. It's a simple concept, acupressure. I understand you're able to fall asleep easily but the waking part is terrorizing. See if this helps at all, even when you wake up at those ungodly hours. Be gentle with yourself, friend.
