The problem I always had with the traditional thinking on the SA forum, and repeated in various support groups is that it all hinges on the assumption that everyone tolerates these drugs ok.

Some don't.

It's not your fault that you do not tolerate these drugs well. I didn't either. Still, once you come off them, it is likely you will recover in time.

Nothing I say is medical advice, it is simply my opinion. I am an anonymous person on an internet forum with no relevant qualifications other than being badly harmed by a drug. For all you know, I could be an idiot. You are making your own decisions and part of that is deciding how much to listen to my opinion, if at all.

Yeah i understand you, it isn't nice when someone is suddenly not wanting your presence randomly.

You could go for a 10 minute meditation if you want to help your body relax a little bit, would make it easier.

Just anxiety and sadness while I sit here. Is this normal at 1.55 mg? This is so hard and I’m. Not one to say that. It’s just dread and sadness and hopelessness.

I don’t think there is any “normal” in this process unfortunately. Everyone’s circumstances and experiences are different. All we can say is that you’ll very likely recover in time. So just keep surviving, day by day, and you’ll get there.

I’m not a medical professional and cannot offer medical advice. I am new to this journey and my thoughts are based only on my personal experience with psychiatric drugs. This is a peer site where we support each other on our taper/recovery journeys.

Yes N2E, what you are feeling is very normal at 1.55mg. We all here have gone through and some still go through this uncomfortable feeling of the healing process to some degree or greater. I as yourself in my early days of withdrawal have felt everything you have described. But please my friend trust the process and the people on this forum when I say we all heal each and every day it truly gets better. Hang on to your strength that God gave you and use it in your toughest time, he God, is guiding you in every step and at the precise time he will guide your mind body and solve. When you get through this it will be a better and more glorious version than you ever anticipated. You will get through this. Hugs xxx Bernadette

Yes, except for the crying since Paxil blunts the emotions. I woke up praying to make it through the day and went to sleep dreading the next one.

You really haven't been tapering very long, all things considered. You can recover and you can really help yourself by not putting unnecessary pressure on yourself to stick to an arbitrary timeline. I understand why you want to get off the meds as soon as possible, but you should also respect what your body is telling you.

2 years and 2 months seems like a long time to me though. To survive this I’ve got to get some relief. I’ve got to make money and be productive . This way of living won’t sustain. Also I don’t know what my body is telling me. To get off or …? Nothing has felt good / better. Constant fear and dread.

You can start by letting go of your expectations. Instead of fixating on getting off by a certain date, tell yourself it’s okay to give yourself the time you need to deal with your ruminations and other symptoms. You’re putting yourself under tremendous pressure, and all that’s doing is reminding of how you’re failing, when in fact you aren’t. Each day you make it is a success. If you want to get back to being productive as soon as possible, you need to give yourself the space to heal.

What’s dripping?

Relationship advice isn’t my forte, but having been married 39 years, I’d say be up front and honest with her. Ask her how she sees the relationship. But be prepared for an answer you may not like.

If you are holding Prozac to let your nervous system settle, I wouldn't move the benzo dose ontop. Remember ADs can be activating and Benzos are brakes so taking the brakes off when you are feeling activated might not be the best move. If you want to reduce the Benzo some more, wait till things have settled a little and keep holding Prozac whilst you do it.

Also with a benzo I would not cut more than 20% in a month. With your nervous system I would be more conservative than that. Your last cut was 25% so holding for a bit is a good idea. Generally I would only do 5-10% each time and no more than 20% per month. With you perhaps just 10% a month max and do it in little stages too rather than one drop, keeping an eye out on what your body tells you each time.

Did you get some scales? It is very important to measure your dose.
