I ended in a heap with severe agitation and distress. I was put back on my SSRI which I'm currently tapering now. However it looks like you've been on the same dose for at least 2 months and having severe WD symptoms. I feel for you. I've had a wrenching gut for 8 days now so I empathise. 🤗

My nervous system is swinging wildly between feeling to activated by mirtazapine one day to feeling like I’ve been cold turkey off of it the next day

Yesterday I was activated by it through the night and throughout the first part of the day I had just had that certain medicated tingly electric feeling, but no big distress until evening.

It did not activate me during the night last night but now I feel an incredibly tight pounding, terrified head super tight muscles everywhere crying overwhelmed with terror surges.

Seems like I can hardly see straight

It would be one thing if I had actually reduced a significant chunk, but I have it except for the one night of the slightly slightly lower dose

It’s more like my nervous system has “crashed” and I don’t know what to do. I truly am afraid I’m not going to make it.

@Finni It truly is a terrifying journey and made worse by the fact we don't know one day yo the next what will happen .I can relate to you feeling scared ,I'm fine with my symptoms when they are manageable but when they are not its scary as we feel like we are losing control and we don't know what to do ,I know the feeling well . All we can do is to hold on and have faith that these symptoms will go away....I.hope they do for you, you will make it just like all the other times ❤️

Oh @Finni I feel you strongly, our amazing system is fighting fiercely with angry chemicals, this is the ugly expression but it has an end, I try to hold on to it and give the due respect although it is so difficult amidst the suffering.

I’m back to wondering if I’m having adverse reactions. Such strong responses after about an hour and a half after taking mirtazapine and then I wake up and as the morning goes on, I feel like I’ve been given several shots of adrenaline. Overwhelming pressure and pounding and shaking.

@Finni sorry to hear that it's not nice ..I woke up at 3.00 like that and it's just eased off ! There could be something going on there especially with the timing

I feel like I’m stuck in a pattern of taking Mirtazapine, having reactions throughout the night and then things building through the morning until they peak midday and then slowly gradually feeling better by evening, and then it starts all over again.

Last night after mirtazapine, I had the familiar feeling of heat and weird electricity…

By midnight, I was in full on horrible pressure in my whole body and head.

Now at 4:45 AM, the pressure and deep electricity, heat and terror is crushing.

Ive become even more reactive to mirtazapine and it seems like it might even be paradoxical… So I would love to reduce again, but then afraid when I do, I feel like I might get even worse.

@Finni I feel your pain it definitely is a quandary ,I suppose ultimately the decision rests with you people can guide you but whose to say what's right or wrong when it comes to these tablets. I'm really sorry your in this position 😔 I wish I could help but I would feel the same as you

Are you trying to decide whether to hold or keep tapering?

@Finni Yes I am especially when I'm in a bad place my thoughts get very catastrophising amd hopeless like today but when I'm.good I don't think about it ! I think you are in a different position to me as your symptoms are more regular and after your dose

Absolutely!! It's awful to feel normal and have it taken away from you ! ...I hope you can decide soon what you want to do I think once you have made a decision it may help

This morning, I have such deep electricity in my back body and head and rotary motor type sensations in my head after waking up several times in the middle of the night, feeling very nervous, deeply nervous and activated. Yesterday was another day of huge vestibular symptoms and deep electric sensations and distress/panic/ crying.

I’m sorry to read @Finni only you know the right path. I wish we could tell you what you should do.

I wonder if it’s worth it for me to try to split my dose.

Dr. Horowitz suggested taking 3 mg earlier and earlier until I get to 12 hours apart. At least that was one option.

This is terrifying

The pressure in my head was so intense yesterday that it hurt to even touch my scalp.

Felt like I had an accelerating motor in my body last night after taking mirtazapine. I woke up around midnight or 1 AM in full throttle. Dozed a little bit after that on and off.

Now as the sun is rising my whole body is pressurized. My head is pressurized. I feel like everything is pounding and have the twisting nausea and terror.

Electrical feelings in my stomach, solar plexus, tailbone. Clamping muscles in stomach and back and neck.

I’m in disbelief that I’ve gotten this much worse.
