Thank you, @Tracey and @skamen!

another good day today. I am still struggling with chemical anxiety, back pain, a little headache and fatigue. After lunch, anxiety was rising, but it subsided in the evening.
I slept nine hours last night, which was glorious. I have taken a sleeping pill(Zolpidem ) for more than 10 years every night. It’s still a miracle for me that I could get rid of this.
take care everyone!

Another good day today! Since Tuesday, I’m really doing better. It seems I am in a really nice window. Of course it feels like it should last, but I know this trick, I have it also in a wave that I think it will be forever like this, and it will never end. So we will see and I just enjoy each good moment as it comes.
it feels so good to have a little bit of energy and to follow a hobby and enjoy some company. I’m wise enough not to do a lot, I know I have to be careful.
thinking of you all, and sending love and peace ❤️

One has to find out what the official way is to get changes into this document and then rally for it, I think. I know someone I can ask. Also, I know someone who is working on the curriculum for medicine students. That would also be a good sphere of influence..

I think it's pretty bad. Table 31, p. 78 maintains the myth about the "discontinuation syndrome". It explicitly says that symptoms are mostly mild and brief (2-6 weeks). It maintains that symptoms are "unspecific" and at the same time lists "electrical sensations" as a symptom which is absolutely contradictory. The document says there is weak up to somewhat evidence for tapering 8-12 weeks and further says that there is NO EVIDENCE for the benefits of tapering very slowly with a liquid IN CASE THE TAPER IS ALREADY MAKING DIFFICULTIES. Sry for the caps lol, but this really annoys me.

I have absolutely no idea how to put pressure on those people responsible for this. I think those guidelines are an highly political issue...although they should only be concerned with the best possible treatment. However, everytime there is a discrepancy between those guidelines and the rules according to which the insurance systems covers expenses, the issue gets political and politicians have to explain to their constituents why they don't get provided with the best care.

You’re right, as soon as it gets political it gets really difficult. And this is political. I don’t know what to do either.

Today I had a good morning, then visited friends. Really nice people, but very soon I felt exhausted and overwhelmed. But I felt like I had to stay. I still have to learn to manage the little amount of energy I have.
i’m quite happy with the daylight lamp I bought. Actually, I’m feeling better since I am using this, but it might be just a coincident.
so much for today. Take care, friends!

I thought about it again. I guess one could try to get help from patient interest groups and maybe also health insurance. After all insurance has to pay for all the damage that is done by tapering too fast.

Might be infrared therapy @Tracey. I've been looking into it.

Think Nemina is talking about at daylight balanced light bulb for use in the morning (5000-6500k) to help with Circadian rhythm regulation.

Yes, @Chippy, you’re right, that’s what it is. My lamp has 10.000 Lux and the wave spectrum is very similar to that of daylight.

it is supposed to help against seasonal depression and to help get back to the circadian rhythm in case it is somehow not working. @Catbird And @Tracey, we have watched the video about mitochondria, maybe you remember where he said that SSRIs disrupt the circadian rhythm (I Think even Inside the cells ) and that the rhythmic interplay between serotonin and melatonin inside and outside the cells does not work anymore after a longer time. This has not only impact on sleep, but also on energy production in the cell.  At least that is what I remember. Such a lamp helps you amongst other things with producing melatonin at the right time, I think.

also, I find it very relaxing to stare into that huge white light. I try to visualize pictures of summer, of well-being, of warmth and being outdoors while looking into the light. I bought it in a way that I can give it back, but I have decided to keep it. I feel really light deprived after this long and cold winter. Our home doesn’t have a window facing south and on many days I didn’t have the strength to leave the house. So I’m quite ready for a device like that.

today, I am not feeling good. I couldn’t fall asleep till about one or two in the morning and then I woke up very often, feeling chemical anxiety. Then I had to go to the office where the anxiety became worse after lunch. Now I am at home and I feel like I am developing a migraine. Maybe my nice little window is closing again or it is just a ditch. We will see.

hi @Nemina sorry to but in but weeds you buy the lamp from and what's the brand . I really love that idea and have been researching that myself .

On Paxil since 1995. Seroquel added 2014 after withdrawal crash. History of too-fast tapers/reinstatements.

21 April 2025 taper two drugs at once

Paxil 4% Seroquel 3.5% per month

that ended up being too much and changed to one drug at a time

13 Jul 2025: 4% Paxil cut

29 Jul 2025: 5% Paxil cut

6 Aug 2025: began hold

Oct 2025: changed from liquid to powder and accidentally took 10x Seroquel dose for 2 weeks by mistake

23 Oct 2025: returned to liquid with accidental 4.7% Seroquel cut

 Holding both drugs to stablize

Holding at Paxil 8.25 mg / Seroquel 6.5

Paxil taper

22/4 8.23  29/4 8.20  5/5 8.15 13/5 8.05  3/6 8 11/6 7.95 18/7 7.5

Hiya @cheeky How are you today? I'm struggling a fair bit as the dosage gets lower.

I just googled "10000 lux light therapy lamp" and it brings up a few Australian sites along with Temu of course. I've also been researching infrared (red light) therapy.

Hello @Catbird and @cheeky, I bought a German brand, „beurer“. The lamp has been tested and recommended by an independent institution, that we have in Germany for testing devices like that. I would not buy a cheap one that has maybe the wrong light Spectrum or is dangerous for the eyes or something like that. One should have healthy eyes and also migraines can be a problem, so it is good if you have the chance to test it and give it back in case your head or your eyes do not react positively.

Yesterday was not a good day. After a bad night, I was struggling with chemical anxiety again. Had a migraine in the evening, which is not so rare on days that I have to go to the office, so I do not think it has to do anything with my lamp. I also was depressed and was struggling with doom thoughts when I finally went to bed.
Today will be better, I think. Just plodding on as a famous person on this site tends to say…

Thanks @Tracey and @Catbird, it is always so nice to receive a response.

Today we have a lot of sun, and I have already been sitting outside a bit. That helped, my mood is lifting since noon.  But it is not only the mood, it is strange how in a wave I have all the symptoms at once, like back pain, headache, nausea, anxiety, and so on, and when it lifts, everything lifts a bit.
Thank you to you all for being here, I’m so glad not to be alone in this. ❤️🙋🏻‍♀️

Hey @Nemina glad the sun has lifted your mood a bit. Being outdoors helps too! I hope this wave lifts soon. You are most certainly not alone in this. 🙂 xxx

I’m not a medical professional and cannot offer medical advice. I only offer my thoughts as support. Please speak to your health practitioner about your care. This is a peer site where we support each other on our taper/recovery journeys.

If you are from the UK please make sure you fill in a 'Yellow Card' report for the MHRA. It is you doing your bit to help make a difference.

Please take the time to do it today 🙂 https://yellowcard.mhra.gov.uk
