Well the active ingredient is controlled for a within the same tolerance in each pill across a batch. By reweighing and taking a new average you would be taking out the filler difference which would be the main reason for the variation as it’s not regulated. I suppose in theory you could. If you were taking 15mg you would be only taking the whole pill and have no idea what the weight was. So removing the 1.5% off each pill makes some sense to me. However I’d just discard the small ones. It’s tricky isn’t it as the active ingredient potential variation is bigger than your cut. Losing battle a little. Just stick to averaging the batch and discard the smaller one. Rest easy Finni don’t drive yourself mad with all this. I’m not a medical professional and cannot offer medical advice. For the record I think this idea isn’t correct. The batches are likely made all mixed so the ratio of drug per filler is consistent in a batch. If you wanted to use the smaller pills. You could cut them in half or 1/4s then find a combination of chunks that is bigger than your average pill weight and shave from there. Right definitely out of the hole now! 🐰 🕳️ I’m not a medical professional and cannot offer medical advice. I only offer my thoughts as support. I too am struggling with a fear of changing my dosing even if I think for myself it is likely necessary for stabilization. It is so hard to make changes. I can't offer advice but just wanted to say I am thinking of you in these difficult times and sending you solidarity. Hope is Healing. Healing from severe separation anxiety, panic, and OCD stemming from childhood. 2011-2013 Zoloft 50mg, no noticeable improvement in symptoms from taking it. ~2015 Luvox 25mg, no noticeable improvement in symptoms from taking it. ~2017-2022 Prozac 10mg increasing up to 40mg, no noticeable improvement in symptoms from taking it. ~2022 tapered off Luvox from 25mg to 0mg successfully. YAY!!! No major withdrawal symptoms. 2023-2025 tapered Prozac from 40mg to 10mg * Prozac 40mg -> 35mg 3/2023-5/2023 * Prozac 35mg -> 30mg 5/2023-6/2023 * Prozac 30mg -> 25mg 6/2023-7/2023 * Prozac 25mg -> 15mg 8/2023-12/2023; Married & travelled out of country early in this period, I was mostly stable and happy. * Prozac 10mg from 12/2023-11/2025; After 12/23 under extreme academic stress for 3-6 months. Biggest crash in unbearable anxiety, panic, and intrusive thoughts beginning in October 2025 after taking molybdenum as a supplement recommended by my doctor. It seems the molybdenum triggered an immediate bad reaction in the brain. * Prozac 20mg from 11/2025-2/2026; November 2025 increased due to symptoms, no noticeable improvement in symptoms from increase. * Prozac 20mg -> 10mg 2/26/2026 - 3/8/2026; No symptoms 5 days, days 6-9 bad WD, day 9+ improvement in mood and intrusive thoughts. * Prozac 10mg -> 0mg 3/8/2026; Bad withdraw symptoms starting at Day 17 off 10mg. Intolerant to Ativan, Xanax, (and oddly Oxycodone) from a young age. All of which give me severe tremors and panic episodes.
