Like any way TJ share specially how your depression anxiety and si were when you’d choose to drop?Based on the experience of many members here and on other sites, even if you went CT, there’s no such thing as permanent damage, but it does make recovery a lot more difficult. That’s why we advocate for a nice slow steady taper. My anxiety was often overwhelming as I tapered. My health anxiety was through the roof and I was constantly catastrophizing. But I stuck with my taper because I wanted to be done and I knew I’d recover eventually. Bear in mind I was seeing a therapist throughout this time and he helped me get through the worst times. I can’t emphasize using coping skills enough. Even when it seems hopeless, you have to stick with coping methods. They’ll start working for you as well. Started Paxil for GAD in 1999 Unsuccessful taper attempt in 2006 Paxilprogress helped with a successful taper completed in 2009 Using therapy and CBT to manage my anxiety I offer advice based on my experience. Yesterday at 12:55 AM1 day Author Ty - I don’t know how to express it sufficiently. I’m a paranoid wreck and you are graceful. I feel the same way you do - just want to get through it. I am sobbing daily and all the other symptoms you know about so I’m like when is too soon. I feel really debilitated but want to be off so my gage for when to taper is non existent. I just don’t have any barometer for it and also don’t want to end up. Suffering for years because I did something wrong. 2014 to 2022 - 25 mg zoloft/dayOct 2022 to Jan 2024 - 10 mg Lexapro/dayFeb 2024 to March 2024 - 25 mg zoloft/dayApril 2024 to May 2024 - 10 mg Lexapro/dayMay 2024 to present Prozac - tapered from 20mg starting dose - lots of cut and holdsDown to 1.35 mg as of 08/27/26Also added 1mg Klonopin/day April 2025 to 6/10/26 then dropped to .875 mg 6/11/266/25/26 dropped klonopin to .75mg
Yesterday at 01:42 AM1 day I understand and know where you’re coming from. There really isn’t an objective barometer to gauge a taper. I wouldn’t worry about suffering for years, or doing something “wrong”. Our bodies are amazing and will heal. We just need to help it do its job by being kind to ourselves and adopting practices that will help our nervous systems settle as much as possible. Did it turn out being like your other reductions? If so,I'd take that as more of a positive than a negative.🙂 Hi all, I've been on various psych drugs in my lifetime but currently only taking two. I'm on a very low dose of escitalopram as well as 3.7 mg of mirtazapine which has helped me a bunch. I'm slowly tapering down the SSRI with the goal of discontinuing it sometime this year. Well, I guess that's enough about me for now. Hope smooth tapering for everyone! Current Meds: 8/25 - Escitalopram 2 mg (from 5 mg) 1/26 - Mirtazapine 3.7 mg Past Meds: 11/2015 - 5/2022 Escitalopram 10 mg (switched to venlafaxine) 5/2022 - 8/2025 Venlafaxine 150 mg 5/2022 - 5/2024 Mirtazapine 7.5 mg 12/2019 - 9/2024 Abilify 10 mg
19 hours ago19 hr Author I am having a really hard time today. Last night I went out with a girl and played pool. When I went into the bathroom a guy apparently quickly came over and hit on her while I as in the bathroom. This kind of thing has never happened before and it’s a sign that I am losing who I am - a guy would never come uniting a girl I was with and hit on her. I feel like nothing small insignificant that he felt it was safe to do that. Then after she shut him down later as I was walking toward him he was like “hey bro your jacked congrats you obviously work out a lot” to me?? Have you ever had a guy hit in a girl like this when you’re out? It’s total disrespect and makes me feel more like I’m losing who I am physically and all.

IThe guy was a jerk and that has nothing to do with you or who you are. The fact your companion blew him off proves that. As I've said before, your anxious mind is reading way too much into every incident and turning it into impending doom. You should be happy she handled it so well and it didn't get unpleasant. In your shoes, Id proceed with tapering as you were doing from 1.45 to 1.40, instead of longer holds like from 1.40 to 1.35.
